"I'm home, everyone!" It was Katchi_K. I ran into the living room and leaped
into her arms. Then I noticed something in her hands.
"Katchi_K, what's that?" I asked her, and looked down at her hands.
"Ohh, this is why I went up to the Trading Post," she replied.
We all headed out to the Rainbow Pool for the fourth, and last time. We got
Inspiri_Steph painted Christmas, and she looked adorable.
"I love it!" Inspiri_Steph exclaimed, looking over her coat, and taking
off her Christmas hat and examining it before putting it back on.
Yes, I know I said this before, but I'll say it again: Katchi_K pulled through
for us in every way possible - she was poor; yes, I said poor; but yet she still
managed to make us feel like we're rich. Fountain Passes, finding in snow or
trading, she managed to get us all painted. She explained that she accomplished
the first step in making us feel comfortable; the explained the next step she
was going to try out.
Sixty-two days old, and we weren't complete our NeoHome quite yet. We still
were living with Stephanie_M_K, and Ravenclaw113 was too. Katchi_K wasn't around
much, since she was working with the plans for our NeoHome. Now she was no longer
thirteen anymore, but now fourteen, and Ravenclaw113 had taken the turn and
was now the age Katchi_K was once, thirteen. Stephanie_M_K was now fifteen and
the oldest over everyone. During this time, I had gotten to know everyone better,
including Cronoo's girlfriend.
I had made sure that Starshowerlove hated me. Cronoo deserved better then
the appearance-obsessed, egotistical bimbo in which she was! She visited
him every day nearly, and was sure that I saw every bit of her obnoxious flirting.
Cronoo was showing his discomfort whenever she did this; which got me to thinking
that he didn't like her as much as she had hoped.
The day Cronoo dumped her was the best day in my life.
I walked into the living room, and sat down on the couch. I knew something
was wrong, but couldn't put my finger on it… then it hit me.
"Cronoo…" I called sweetly, and walked up to him.
"Ya?" He asked, looking down at me. He was a lot older, but only a
little taller then me.
"Cronoo, where's Starshowerlove?" I asked, "Shouldn't she be here?"
"Ohh, she was here; about five minutes ago she left…" He replied to my question.
"Then why isn't she here still?" I asked, getting a little confused; but trying
to keep my excitement down. I knew something must have happened when she wasn't
here - like she always was.
"Right, about that…" Cronoo started, "I dumped her."
I gasped, trying to look disappointed for him. He could obviously see through
my fake attempt and laughed.
"Why?" I asked.
"I dunno, I just didn't like her that much." He shrugged and walked outside.
The door clicked shut and I jumped into the air and cheered.
"What's wrong with you?" Crystal_Water7000 asked, coming out of the
bed room as she heard me cheer.
I cleared my throat and stuttered for a while, "Uhh, well, umm, you see…"
She laughed, "I get it now…" She said, flexing her paws and stretching, "You
found out Cronoo dumped her, didn't you?"
I hesitated, "Ya…"
"That's cute." And she turned around and walked back into the bedroom.
I trotted happily over to Yellow_Belt, who was eating his breakfast over in
the kitchen area of the living room. He looked at me funny; wondering why I
was so happy, I guess. I explained, and he spat up his cereal through his nose.
I found it disgusting (corn-flakes everywhere), but he thought my story was
funny, apparently…
"Ohh, who asked your opinion anyway…" I said, and walked outside.
It was warm outside, warm for the month of Awakening, anyway. It was breezy,
but there wasn't any snow on the ground anymore, and the blizzards were fewer
and fewer each day now.
I pranced down the lawn, humming whatever tune was in my head at the moment.
I decided I wanted to go into town and make a new friend; see who was around
to talk to. The Neopia shops weren't to far from where Stephanie_M_K lived,
so it didn't take long to get there.
The shops were really busy during the day, and people walked in and out of
them constantly. No one was going slowly enough for me to talk to… I bumped
into a lot of people, but the most our conversations contained was either "excuse
me" "watch it" or "sorry". Some conversations. I did walk into Basher6973's
girlfriend, lil_striped_angel2, but she wasn't much conversation either - she
was just looking for Basher…
I turned and started to head home, I decided with all these people around,
and the good weather, I was either going to be trampled on or overheat and melt!
I started to run when some construction workers were resizing one of the shops
and dropped a large wooden panel that was to be the new wall. I turned and ran
right into a red Kacheek that was only a centimetre shorter then I was. We both
fell over and rubbed our heads.
"Sorry about that, I was running from -" I was cut off by the Kacheek.
"I saw the wall fall - it would have smushed you!" She laughed childishly.
I sat there with an open jaw and was about to reply when her owner picked
me up, "Sorry about that…" She replied, "Are you lost?"
"No, I know where I am - but thanks for asking," I replied.
"You're a polite NeoPet, who's your owner?" she asked.
"Katchi_K," I replied.
"I heard of her, she had an article in The Neopian Times," she said.
I guess I forgot to mention, Katchi_K had been writing a story for a little
while about her adventure with a scarf and got it published in the newspaper
for Neopia.
"Ya, that's her," I answered back.
"Well, I'd like to meet her - do you know where she is?" She asked, "By the
way, I'm Abcdpets19123, and this is Baby." She pointed to the red Kacheek who
was still laughing.
"She's at 70851 Magical Road, building what's to be our NeoHome soon," I said,
and led Abcdpets19123 to the address.
They talked for a while, and I watched the fairly large Bruce try and put
shingles on our roof. Our house was almost complete and we only had a few rooms
to go before we would move in.
More days continued to pass, and months too - until it was the month of Eating.
Abcdpets191234 and Katchi_K became close friends, and talked to each other nearly
every day. Our NeoHome was complete and we moved in and were very comfortable.
We had also celebrated my 100th day in Neopia a while back, and now I was 117
days old. We convinced Katchi_K that we were happy, and she didn't need to spend
so much on us - so we started to get a little more money in the bank. It was
much hotter now then before, and Katchi_K had a surprise for us all.
"We're going up to Terror Mountain," she said, holding five plane tickets
in her hand and placed them on our new kitchen table in front of us.
"Wow - are you serious?" Inspiri_Steph nearly freaked, "This is gonna be great!"
Katchi_K laughed.
"When do we leave?" Yellow_Belt asked.
"Tomorrow - so you better start packing up and saying goodbye to your friends,"
She said, and walked up to the air conditioner that was in the wall. She turned
the knob and is started to hiss and smoke. "And just in time, too," she
sighed.
Katchi_K said that whenever she's in a place with weather above 0 degrees
it's too hot. She always blasts the air conditioner until it overheats and breaks,
sort of like it just did. She can't handle much of the hot weather, but since
we're used to it being really cold now we don't mind.
Ravenclaw113 said she was going with us, since they were going to visit their
parents. We were all excited about going, especially Yellow_Belt. He was sad
when we moved out of Stephanie_M_K's house because he had to leave Kalila140.
People were coming and going in our NeoHome, like she was dying or something.
They were all saying goodbye and have a nice trip and the usual stuff. We wouldn't
be coming back until late in the month of Hiding.
The air conditioner was broken again, so Katchi_K opened all the doors and
windows (which we have a lot of) and wanted the breeze to pass through. It was
incredibly hot, and none of us could stand it - and we all couldn't wait until
the next day.
Tomorrow finally came, and we were sitting on the plane heading towards Terror
Mountain. It was air conditioned, but not as high up as Katchi_K would have
liked it; she even talked to the flight attendant to see if she could turn it
up, but she was turned down.
I was sitting next to Cronoo, and Katchi_K and Ravenclaw113 were in front
of us. Across the isle were Basher6973 and Yellow_Belt; and in front of them
were Kalila140 and Balfore. In front of Katchi_K and her sister were Inspiri_Steph
and Sabera_2000 (they were the youngest, so they had to have an eye kept on
them).
The flight took place from noon to some time at night, and it was very late.
It was a long trip, and I was more then happy to get out and stretch my legs.
We were set off at the bottom of the mountain, and we were told that we'd go
up it in the morning.
Katchi_K and Ravenclaw113 both had connections, so we stayed at a friend's
house; her name is Neo_Fluff. She told us to come back and visit any time the
next morning and we headed up the mountain in some sort of glass-box on a long
cord… I didn't know what it was, but it beat walking up it!
We got out at a certain part of the mountain and headed down a snow-covered
path. We walked with our bags on our backs and the cold wind whistling behind
us. We reached a cabin and her parents stood in the doorway.
I then knew I was home.
