I watched as the Casino Faerie walked up to the dealing table. NyanNeko smiled
and admired the Faerie's huge red wings. She threw back the tails of her suit
and sat down in front of the players. I was playing along with two other mysterious
females besides me.
"All right Neopians, put your game face on and get ready to play!" the Casino
Faerie announced. "I am your Casino Faerie tonight, and my name is Alice. No
cheating, start dealing, and the game is Blackjack!" she declared.
The girl besides me pulled back her hood, revealing her bright red hair. "All
right. This is my kinda game," she sneered. Alice dealt and tossed us each a
card.
The blonde on my other side of me had a ten. "Hit me," she smiled. Alice threw
down another card. The blonde had a total of nineteen. She looked at the ten
and the nine thoughtfully, then turned to the dealer and smirked. "Hit me."
"With Nineteen? Are you sure about that, Crys?" said the red head. Apparently,
me and NyanNeko had our men, or should I say women. I whistled and my red Wocky
immediately crawled underneath my chair from her hiding place. These disobedient
faeries were gonna go right back to the Faerie Queen.
Crystal nodded and let Alice lay down the card. "21!" screamed Crystal.
Alice looked at her for a few seconds, wondering if she was cheating. The
odds were strongly against her, how could she get a two? She seemed to know
it was going to happen!
"WHAT?!" Dactyl banged her head on the table. "IMPOSSIBLE! Err... you know
what, Crys? I can do that too!" Dactyl then crossed her arms and waited for
me to take my turn.
Alice tossed a card at me. I stared for a minute at the red Aisha, then I
lit up with a smile. "Hold on, my shoe is untied." I bent upside down and looked
NyanNeko in the face. "I got a ten, what should I do? Hit or stay?"
My cat thought for a bit and then hissed at me. "HIT OR COURSE!" She scowled.
"You can't win against Alice with a ten!"
I jumped back up to find everyone impatiently waiting. "Hehe, hit."
Alice hit the card on the table, giving me a twenty. I knew I should stop.
I was betting a hundred NP on this! "Stay." I smiled. Alice got 25 and busted,
giving me two hundred NP. I smiled.
"Now I'll show you just how lucky I am!" laughed Dactyl. Alice gave her the
card and Dactyl smiled at the the picture of the black Lupe.
"Hit!" She smiled.
Alice gave the card to Dactyl and smiled. Crystal burst into laughter.
"BUSTED!" she laughed.
"AHH!" Dactyl gasped and pouted as she handed the bag of two hundred NP to
Alice. "Hmm, what do you say when you want another card?" Dactyl sneered at
Crystal.
"Dactyl, of course I know that. Everyone does. Hit." She giggled.
"HERE YOU GO!" Dactyl grabbed a card and laid it on her palm, right before
smacking Crystal hard.
"OWWWWWWWW!" Crystal screeched. NyanNeko burst out laughing. Crystal and Dactyl
gasped as they saw the badges me and my Wocky were wearing.
"THEY'RE BOUNTY HUNTERS FOR THE FAERIE QUEEN!" they screamed. They ran away,
but I ran after them and I had my cats with me!
"GO NYANNEKO!" I screamed. The kitten scowled. "FIERCE ATTACK NOW!" NyanNeko
growled and ran at them and scratched the two. I reached into my backpack and
pulled out a bottle. "CATCH, NYANNEKO!" My cat caught it skilfully and popped
off the cork, releasing a firestorm. The Water Faerie threw a water blast at
it, and experienced very little damage.
"Heal." She cast a spell using the heal ability and healed herself.
I thought for a second. "Your fire attacks won't work!" I finally called.
I called out my other cats, Meowkies and Skai3. "Use the lightning wand and
peach snowball!" My pets gave it their all, but the faeries blocked their attacks.
"Nice try! You'll never catch us!" screamed Dactyl. She instantly grabbed
Meowkies and ran away.
"MEOWKIES!" I couldn't believe it, some just abducted my pet! I kept running,
running and running, until I tripped. I fell to the ground and my backpack opened
as it fell to the ground. As I looked up, I witnessed my NeoDeck
glow. I quickly got to my feet and backed away until I was near NyanNeko and
Skai3, who were following me. Then, the NeoDeck rose and landed in my hand as
I gasped.
The NeoDeck then seemed to whisper in my mind, telling me the cards were more
than pictures printed on cardboard and pasted together. They were magic cards
made by the casino faeries! I knew what to do. I took out The Snow Faerie card
and Jelly Chia card. I threw them at the two faeries and the cards worked their
magic. The Jelly Chia grabbed Crystal by her tail and contained her bottom half
inside his big Jelly belly.
The Snow Faerie grabbed Dactyl and chilled her, forcing the Fire Faerie to
drop my Kougra. Meowkies raced to me and I embraced her. Then, the cards returned
to me, and I had two great big rewards of 100,000 NP to collect.
