"I know Claraluna. But I still wish that I could do something special, something
that was my talent... because, honestly, it really isn't exciting not having
any ears. Now, if I were a tightrope walker, that would be different. Of course,
I am afraid of heights, but, just to be something else, anything else would
be wonderful! Anything but part of the sideshow!"
Nilota was an emerald green Aisha. She was very pretty, but, the poor Aisha
had no ears! This was one of the reasons that she was in the sideshow of the
circus. The other reason was that her owner, Sara, was the daughter of the ringmaster,
Mr. Shaai.
"It can't be all that bad!" Claraluna replied sympathetically.
Claraluna was what people called an Alien Aisha, because she had four ears!
She was in the sideshow as well. They would put a little alien helmet on her
with two antennae coming out of the top!
When Nilota and Claraluna had first joined the circus, they had been given
show names. Nilota had exclaimed, "I can't believe what my show name is! I'm
going to be called Kitty the Earless Cat-Aisha! I'm not a cat! I'm an AISHA!"
"Well, I wouldn't be talking! My show name is Chi-Chi-Grace from Outer Space!
Why Chi-Chi? But still, I sort of like being an Alien Aisha! It makes me feel
special. My owner, Elizabeth, was really proud of me! She trains Cowboy Lenny's
Uni."
"I wish I felt the same way you do, Claraluna. But I just don't feel like it's
very special, just being the earless Aisha of the circus. I want to do something
really special! I want to be remembered for my talent! I just... haven't found
it yet."
And now it was one year later, and Nilota still felt the same way.
"Claraluna, I really want to find something I am good at! I hate it how in
the sideshow people stare at me, or worse, laugh! Oh well, the side show opens
in an hour! We'd better go!"
"I have a better idea!" Claraluna exclaimed excitedly. "Why don't we watch
the first part of the circus!"
"Great idea! Come on! Let's go!" Nilota shouted, her bitterness turning into
joy.
So the two young Aisha's ran off happily, laughing and talking.
"Good evening, Neerolf! Good evening, Eyrolf!" they shouted as they ran past
the two friendly circus wizards.
"I am predicting that Nilota will soon find happiness," Eyrolf the Eyrie wizard
murmured.
"Just what I was about to predict!" Neerolf the Shoyru wizard said with a smile.
"And now, the moment you've all been waiting for! Ladies and gentlemen, boys
and girls, children of all ages! We are proud to present to you the super duper,
splendid, NEOPIAN CIRCUS!!
The first act was Nippy and Chippy the clowns. Nippy was a Quiggle, and Chippy
was a Bruce. Nilota had known them ever since she was a baby. They had always
made her laugh and laugh, which was what she was doing right then. As they squirted
each other with toy flowers, Claraluna nudged Nilota.
"Look who's up next." Nilota looked.
"Oh gosh! It's Daniel the Strong Kyrii!" The two Aisha's had been afraid of
him ever since they were young, because he looked so tough and mean. As Nippy
and Chippy cartwheeled out of the ring, Mr. Shaai, the ringmaster started talking.
"And now.... Daniel the Strong Kyrii!"
Daniel was amazing! He could lift weights of over 1000 pounds! For a Kyrii,
that was unbelievable!
The next act was the Peophin cheerleaders. Just as they were standing in a
high triangle on one another's shoulders, which was very exciting, Claraluna
whisperd to Nilota.
"We had better get going."
Let's just stay to watch Cowboy Lenny!" Nilota pleaded.
Cowboy Lenny was worth every penny, as the advertisement said! He was spectacular,
racing around on his Uni, doing amazing jumps!
"All right" Claraluna whispered to Nilota. "Come on!"
They made their way through the thick and noisy crowd. As they raced out of
the tent, and started to run to the sideshow tent, they raced past the music
tent, and Nilota saw Sara having her piano lesson.
"That's it!" she thought. "Claraluna, tell them I can't make it! I have to
do something! "
Nilota rushed to the music tent.
"Nilota! What are you doing here?"
"I want to learn....How to play the piano!!" Nilota blurted out.
"You?"
"Yes!" Nilota answered happily.
"Goodness!" Sara said. "Well....I guess you could try!"
Nilota tried, and found that she had a natural talent for it! And, within weeks,
Nilota was in the ring, about to become the first known NeoPet ever to play
the piano!
"Wish me luck!" Nilota whispered to Claraluna backstage.
"I do! What song are you playing?"
"Claire de Lune." And then, Nilota walked into the ring.
"Introducing.....Nilota the Musical Aisha!"
She had finally found something that she was really good at, and.... it was
better than she had ever imagined.
The End
Claraluna walks onto the stage. *Ahem Ahem* "This story is dedicated to
