Hello there! My name is Isabellaiet and I am a Faerie Ixi.
My dear mum is a teenage girl named Roxy. I have a younger brother named Caribbean
Captain (or CC) who is a Baby Aisha and has a Harris named Jacob. Well, enough
with the background information, I’m sure you are here to hear my story, so here
it goes!
I woke up and stretched my legs, ready for a
fresh new day. My pet Ona, Romeo, noticed that I was awake and flittered over
to me.
“Good morning,” I said groggily as I patted Romeo
on the head. Contented with that greeting, he zoomed out of my room. As I wondered
why he was in such a hurry, a delicious aroma soothed itself into my nostrils.
“Mmmmmm! Mum’s making breakfast!” I crawled out
of my bed and trotted to the kitchen. The table had a nice holiday table cloth
covering it and a gigantic pile of Fluffy Faerie Pancakes. There was also some
toast, eggs, and bacon. There were three places set up and I sat down next to
CC, whose face was glued in a pout as he slowly sipped his orange juice through
a straw.
“What’s your problem?” I asked as I piled my
plate with everything and poured a glass of orange juice.
He pushed his glass away and grumbled. “It’s
mum… she’s gone in a Christmas rage.”
I turned around and looked at Roxy. She was
merrily humming a song and bending over to feed Romeo a slice of bacon. Suddenly,
I noticed that the transparasheild walls were adorned in Christmas decorations.
I gasped.
“My… she really has gotten into the Christmas
spirit hasn’t she?”
“Yeah, but she’s not finished… today she’s gunna
make us-”
“Good morning, Isa! I didn’t even notice you
walk in! Do you like the new décor? I just love the holidays!” Roxy sat down
next to me cheerfully with her plate.
“Yeah mum, er… it’s really nice,” I cautiously
replied, a bit taken aback by Roxy’s jolliness.
“Good! Because today is a very special day.
I’m taking the two of you with me to pick out a Christmas tree in Happy Valley!
It will be so much fun, you guys will really like it… trust me,” she added,
noticing the half-hearted looks on our faces.
After we had all finished breakfast and washed
up, we were just about ready to leave. I was in my room putting my scarf on
and began to walk out. I noticed that Romeo was close behind, ready to follow.
“You know, you don’t need to go. I can’t imagine
this will be much fun for you. Besides, CC’s pet is staying at home.”
Romeo’s body sunk and he stared up at me with
his large pleading eyes. Ever since I had gotten him, he never left my side.
“Oh fine, don’t complain to me if you get really
bored though.”
Romeo perked up and he flew off to the entrance
hall and I soon joined him. Roxy and CC were already waiting and covered in
their winter gear. Roxy suggested that I bring a hat as well, but I just told
her I would be fine. With that, we were off to get an official Christmas tree.
We arrived on the summit of Terror Mountain.
It’s closer to our Neohome in Faerieland, after all.
“Okay guys, I need to make a quick trip to the
Snow Faerie and see if she could give us a quest while we’re here!”
Romeo’s wings flapped excitedly and Roxy stared
at him apprehensively.
“Isa, you are going to have to take Romeo somewhere
while CC and I visit the Snow Faerie. You know how much Romeo annoys her and
we always end up having to leave with no quest.”
“Could we maybe go down into the caves and get
a scratch card?” I asked hopefully.
“Well, alright… but you better keep an eye on
him,” she gestured towards the anxious Ona, “and here’s 600 Neopoints. We will
meet you in the ice caves, so stay there. Okay?"
"Alright, mum. Thanks! Come on Romeo, we have
some Neopoints to win!"
Roxy and CC headed for the Snow Faerie's home
as Romeo and I made our way into the ice caves. The caves were buzzing with
humans and Neopets. Many were doing their holiday shopping and doing their daily
errands.
We approached the Wocky at the kiosk and handed
him 600 Neopoints. The Wocky handed us a Race to Riches Scratchcard.
I scratched away at the little spaces with my
hoof. Blank... 5000... 5000... blank... 2500...5000!
"Congratulations! You're a winner! Here's 5000
Neopoints!" exclaimed the Wocky and handed me a jingling bag of Neopoints
"Thank you!" I almost squeaked in happiness.
I thought, wait until I show Roxy what we won!.
Romeo hovered beside me as we sat outside the
entrance of the kiosk.
"What a nice day this has turned out to be,
eh Romeo?"
Romeo nodded his little head happily. Suddenly,
a snowball whizzed by and hit Romeo in the tummy with full force, knocking him
onto the ground.
"Romeo! Are you okay? Who did thi--" As I turned
to look at the culprit, I was wallowed in the face with several icy snowballs.
I fell over in my confusion and shock and heard my bag of Neopoints fall to
the solid ground with a crash.
I brushed the snow off of my face and coughed
and choked on the bit that had gone into my mouth. Dazed and confused, I got
up on all fours and looked around. The area around me was deserted and quiet.
Romeo and the bag of Neopoints was missing.
Suddenly, I heard a commotion further down in
the cave, along with angry voices.
"Hey! Watch where you're going!" an frustrated
Neopian growled a small flying blue blur that had almost knocked him off his
feet.
That was a pretty familiar blue blur...
"Romeo! Stop! Wait for me!" I galloped into
the busy crowd.
"Sorry, pardon me!" as I bustled through the
people. I lost sight of Romeo. "Ugh, this is pointless!" I flapped my wings
and soared over the crowd shouting for Romeo.
I caught sight of him and noticed that he was
chasing a yellow Chia with a bag... a bag of Neopoints Our Neopoints!
"Hey! Stop right there! Thief!" I screeched.
I was really making quite the scene in the ice caves. Everyone had stopped in
their tracks to watch what was going on.
The Chia dove through the entrance of the ice
caves and down the hill into the heart of Happy Valley. Romeo pursued him, determined
and flying faster than I had ever seen.
Meanwhile....
"... and a slice of Snow Pizza will do. Please
bring them back within 1 hour and 14 minutes. Thanks!" said the Snow Faerie.
Roxy and CC turned to leave.
"Oh! And before you leave, I've just heard that
there is a huge snow storm on its way. You'll want to be careful!"
"Oh, thank you for telling us! Well, CC, I guess
we are going to have to get the tree on a different day. We better get to the
ice caves and pick up your sister and then head home. We don't want to get caught
in this storm!"
CC nodded in agreement and the two headed out
of the Snow Faerie's home and towards the Ice Caves.
Roxy and CC made their way for the Scratchcard
Kiosk, assuming that Romeo and I would be there waiting for them.
However, there was no one there except for the
Wocky handing a red Draik a scratchcard.
"Hmmmm... where could those two have gone? I
told them to wait here."
"Maybe we should ask the Wocky at the kiosk
if he's seen them," suggested CC.
"Good idea."
The Wocky handed the red Draik a Quiggle plushie,
congratulating him and then noticed us.
"Fancy trying your luck at winning a fortune?
Well the Ice Caves Scratchcard Kiosk could mean that today is your lucky day.
It costs--"
"Erm, sorry, we don't want a scratchcard,"
The Wocky looked a little put out. "Oh...?"
"I was wondering if you remember seeing a Faerie
Ixi not long ago. She had an Ona with her."
"Oh them," he chuckled. "I think everyone in
the caves saw them!"
"Oh no..." Roxy could only imagine what sort
of trouble we had gotten into. "Did you happen to see where they went?"
"Well, I believe they were chasing a little
yellow Chia They left the caves and went into Happy Valley. Are you sure you
wouldn't like to have a go at the scratchcards?"
"... What? I mean, no thanks, I just need to
find them."
"Well, good luck!" With that, he pinned up a
little note saying "out to lunch".
Now back to me....
At this point in the chase, we had long left the town square in Happy Valley
and were making our way around the bottom of the mountain side. That rotten
little yellow Chia just wouldn't quit!
The Chia suddenly stopped in mid-run, causing
Romeo to collide with the back off the Chia's head.
"Geroff!" His voice was muffled by a scarf and
he flung Romeo off of him. "Here, take your Neopoints! Not like you'll be gettin'
the chance to spend em' anyhow...." he laughed mockingly.
I landed with a plop in the snow right in front
of the Chia as he let out one last laugh and burrowed under the snow.
"Good, leave! Never come near us again! You're
lucky I didn't report you to the police!" I shouted after his trail in the snow.
"Well, Romeo, we got our money back... and we're here... wherever here is. Let's
get walking and try to find town."
The two of us were much to tired and cold to
fly so we were forced to walk. It seemed that every step we took, the sky darkened
even more and the colder it got. I looked upwards and dark, grey clouds had
enveloped the mountain above. Suddenly, a snowflake drifted swiftly from the
sky and landed on my nose, melting in moments. Soon, we were surrounded by the
falling snow that only fell faster and faster.
"Uh oh. We better find shelter or something
quickly. We don't have a chance of finding the village at the moment," I said
to Romeo as I noticed he was shivering uncontrollably. The snow and the arriving
winds seemed to be overpowering him. I instructed him to get on my back and
I continued walking. Each step became more and more of a struggle and it was
completely impossible to see through the snow.
I began to feel light-headed from the strain
of walking and the coldness. All that was around me faded from my sight as my
entire body began to slow down. In my last moments of consciousness, I noticed
a tiny bright glow in the distance. Then, everything stopped.
I heard the crackling of a fire as warmth consumed
my body. Expecting to wake up in front of the fireplace at home, I opened my
eyes. What I saw was a stone ceiling above me and I was laying on a very uncomfortable
slab of rock. A little bit shocked with my surroundings, I glanced quickly around
and saw Romeo flittering happily near a large red Bruce.
They both looked over at me as I sat up.
"Hello little one! We had quite the scare there,
didn't we?" the Bruce said warmly.
"Uh yeah... I'm sorry, but who are you and what
happened?" I blinked.
"Well, my Snowbunny and I found you and this
little guy in the snow just outside my cave. You didn't seem to be in... erm...
the best of conditions... so I brought you guys here! My name is Gloria, by
the way."
"Oh, well thank you very much. You see, some
evil Chia stole our bag of Neopoints that we-- Did you happen to find our Neopoints,
too?"
"Yes, dear, they're over there by the fire,
but continue your story."
"Oh, yes, thank you. As I was saying, we were
chasing this little Chia out of the Ice Caves where we were supposed
to be meeting my mum and my little brother. We got a bit carried away... chasing
the Chia and all... and then that storm came and we got lost. Oh no, how am
I going to find my mum?"
"That sounds like quite the ordeal you've had!
And don't worry about finding your owner right now, we can deal with that in
the morning."
"Oh, alright." Then a random question came over
me. "Where's your owner?"
"I've never had an owner actually. I've lived
here alone as long as I can remember, and then I found this cute Snowbunny."
She made a gesture towards the fuzzy and white Snowbunny that was playing with
Romeo. "I don't really have much, but when I found him... I felt like I didn't
need anything else."
There was a long pause as Gloria and I watched
our petpets play together. We both laughed as they rolled around. Just then,
an idea came to mind.
"Hey, Gloria, why don't you keep those Neopoints?"
"Oh sweetie, I really couldn't do that. You
won--"
"No, no, please take it. I really owe you more
than my life. I would feel really happy if you kept it. It's Christmastime after
all, it's our thank you and a Christmas gift to you."
"Well, thank you. Thank you very much."
The warm fire crackled as the storm raged on
outside of the cave. My eyes refused to stay open and I became drowsy. I slowly
sank into a deep sleep.
As I came out of my pleasant sleep, I could
hear quiet voices around me. The storm had stopped raging and the sounds of
birds chirping after a fresh snowfall were sounding in the background. I opened
my eyes and saw-
"Mum? CC? How did you guys find me?" I was stunned
to see them in the cave.
Roxy got up and hugged me. "Romeo came and found
us early this morning. We had stayed at the lodge until the storm ended and
we came out to find you right away. I was so scared!"
"I'm really sorry, mum! We--"
"It's okay, I'm just happy that you're still
alive after that storm. Well, how about we head home? Needless to say we've
had enough adventure to last us a long time. Thank you very much for taking
care of them, Gloria! I don't want to think of what would have happened without
you."
"No need to thank me, what kind of person would
I be to leave them out there in the storm?" she said, smiling. "Good bye, and
Merry Christmas."
"Merry Christmas to you too," we all said as
we left the cave.
As we entered our home on the cloud, Roxy turned
to me out of the blue.
"Oh yes, I forgot to ask you. How did you do
at the Scratchcard Kiosk?"
"Er..." I stopped for a moment, "we got nothin'.
It was a crummy card."
"Oh, I'm sorry. Well, better luck next time,
right?"
"Right mum." I walked away, with a broad smile
on my face.
