The Talented Tuhtoa

by cloudmime

Untitled Document Tuhtoa the looked over the vast valleys and mountains, to see the beautiful orange sunset. It was getting dark, but since it was almost spring, the sunsets were dazzling and worth while to watch. Only for Tuhtoa it was a place for rest, and to get his mind thinking, a place where he couldn't be bothered, or we could call it "Alone time." As the sky turned from a tangerine orange to a crisp purple, and then to a dark blue, Tuhtoa didn't bother going back home. He laid on the flabby grass and gazed at the stars that blinked in the sky.

"What are you doing?" Tuhtoa swung his head around to see his brother Kookyth an electric Kacheek emerging from the porch.

"Err… nothing," Tuhtoa said a bit apprehensive standing up on his Ixi hoofs.

"Oh c'mon," Kookyth said, "You must've come out here to think about something... Tell me." Tuhtoa laid back down on the grass, tucking in his Halloween Ixi tail, and hugging himself from the cold.

"Well you see, its not that easy just to tell." Tuhtoa began, "Its just that... well erm... I have a problem."

"Who doesn't?" Kookyth said sitting next to Tuhtoa.

"Its well... something you'll laugh at."

     "Trust me, I won't laugh, I promise."

Tuhtoa sighed, "Well.... I don't have--I don't have a talent." There was a gangling silence, among the two brothers. Until Kookyth broke it.

"That's not so bad. I mean, when are you really going to use your talent? Maybe to get into a college, talent show, to apply for a job, to impress others... I mean its not that important," Kookyth said shrugging.

"It is important," Tuhtoa refused. "You have a talent, your everyone's favorite. You're strong in the Battledome, as well as an awesome Splat-o-sloth champion. You can also ride a bike."

"Riding a bike… pshh thats nothing."

"With no hands or feet only your tail," Tuhtoa blinked, "I just noticed thats really odd."

"It doesn't matter if you have a talent, or not--Well it kind of does-- But its your personality that really matters," Kookyth preached. Tuhtoa eyed Kookyth.

"Could you help me get a talent tomorrow?"

     "Ummm okay."

The sun blared into Tuhtoa's room. Kookyth carefully tiptoed over the devilish collection, and beauty contest sketches to reach, the snoring Halloween Ixi that lay in his bed.

"RISE AND SHINE!!!" Kookyth hollered at the top of his lungs.

"But I want to be a baby Ixi!" Tuhtoa said in his dream. His eyes then flipped open and he stretched, yawning and grunting. "What do you want Kookyth?" Tuhtoa murmured disgruntled, and pulling the blankets over him.

"This," Kookyth replied holding a book that had the title, "101 Cool Talents!!!" Cooperating with his bossy brother. Tuhtoa slowly got out of his bed, asked Kookyth to leave and washed up.

"French toast?" Kookyth said holding a plate of luscious sugar glazed French toast under Tuhtoa's nostrils as he walked out of his room.

"Sure, why not?" Tuhtoa said reaching for the plate. Kookyth slapped Tuhtoa's Hoofs. "Oww.. Why'd you do that?"

"Simple, you asked me to help you get a talent, so today is going to be a day of being just like me. Healthy." Kookyth handed Tuhtoa a plate of dried Tigersquash. "Eat up, because we're going to do some Martial arts afterwards." Tuhtoa plopped onto the ground devastated.

     2 hours later...

"3… 4… 5... 6! Now spin!" Kookyth ordered as Tuhtoa danced on the driveway.

"Kookyth... I don't see why I have to dance, this is not the talent I wanted!"

"Tuhtoa, look if you want a talent you have to be rhythm oriented." Kookyth said, "Okay now, leap, now 5… 6... 7... 8." A few hours later it was now time to get started on getting Tuhtoa's talent.

"Do you have any idea what you want to do?" Kookyth asked.

"I want to breathe fire, or like jump off the Hidden Tower," Tuhtoa replied excited.

"Lets go with the breathing fire." Kookyth flipped open the talent book and looked through the table of contents. "Hmm... Eating fire, putting out fires, jumping on fire, sleeping in fire... Ahh here it is! Breathing fire."

"Let me see!" Tuhtoa grabbed the book and read the instructions. "Breathing fire should only be attempted by dragon Neopets, if not other Neopets can get badly burned... Blah, blah, yada, yada. Okay lets start." A toothy grin was made onto Tuhtoa's furry face.

A little nervous Kookyth set up what was needed: A can of gasoline, matches, a bucket of water (just in case) and a fire extinguisher (You can never be over cautious. NOTE: DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!)

"I'm ready!" Tuhtoa yelped fixing a blue cape he had put on.

"Are you sure you want to do this?" Kookyth asked.

"Light it up!" Tuhtoa said, pouring the gasoline into his mouth. Swiftly Kookyth rubbed a match and then it lit up. He held the fiery match in front of Tuhtoa and covered his eyes. Too scared he threw the match in the air and ran away. Just then a big BOOM! filled the air and Tuhtoa was no where to be seen.

"Tuhtoa! Where are you!!" Kookyth called looking around.

"Up here!" Tuhtoa called back. Kookyth looked up in the sky to see Tuhtoa flapping his wings and soaring in the clouds. "The dynamite really helped! I'm flying!" Tuhtoa waved and then continued flying. Kookyth hurried over the the box of matches and read the label.

"Incredible Shrunken Dynamite," Kookyth said reading. "Oh great... But at least he found his talent..."
