In the shocking aftermath of the whirlpool that destroyed Maraqua,
many of us are wondering, what exactly happened? What events led up to this
horrible catastrophe? Were any Neopians hurt? And did those odd pirates recently
seen around Maraqua have anything to do with it? As of yet we aren't getting
any answers, but many theories are arising. I have my own theories, and I am
here to present them to you. My Acara, Allegren, and I are on location underwater,
near the whirlpool; while my other pets, Zielee (a Zafara), Palestine (a Shoyru),
and Reshka (a Uni), are looking down at us from the VirtuPets Space Station.
One theory is that the Pirate King was after some sort of revenge against Maraqua.
Some evidence that Allegren and I uncovered could suggest that the Pirates held
a grudge in some way against the people of Maraqua. Why? Well, that's
another mystery, one that we also have theories for. One theory is that the
Pirates were enemies with the Chef in the Underwater Kitchen. The Chef was unavailable
for comment, but Allegren and I have looked through the ruins of the Unterwater
Kitchen, and we found some threatening letters, which we believe to be from
the Pirates to the Chef. Another theory is that the Pirates were angry at the
Koi Food shop. We looked through the remains of the Food shop also, and we uncovered
a back room to the shop, where they stored food that nobody would buy. It was
mostly gross food, even worse then our standard gross food. When asked about
it, one of the workers at the Koi Food shop said that the Pirates created it,
but no one would buy it, and that's why they kept it in that back room. Maybe
the Pirates was angry at the citizens of Maraqua? There are other theories,
but these two are the most supported ones.
But how would the Pirates cause the whirlpool? This is another mystery. My
pets and I all believe that he went to a Darkness Faerie, or possibly an evil
water Faerie, and they gave them the power to do this.
As I mentioned earlier, one of the questions being asked is, "What events were
leading up to this?" Well, I was in Maraqua just a few days before it happened,
and I don't think anything was really leading up to it, minus the Pirates showing
up in Maraqua. I think the event was just out-of-the-blue. No Neopians were
seriously injured, because the whirlpool started relatively slowly and they
all had time to escape.
Another theory as to why the whirlpool happened is that Dr. Sloth is somehow
involved. He has terrorised many of the other worlds, why not this one also?
Dr. Sloth could have also teamed up with the Pirates
to do this. Who knows?
One other, less-believed theory is that the whirlpool occured because of natural
causes. Although few believe this theory, we should all take precautionary measures,
because if that is what caused it, it could start a chain-reaction of all kinds
of disasters among the other worlds. In any case, these are all just theories,
and we are just going to have to wait until the NeoPets Team gives us more information.
All they've told us is that it's "The beginning of a new world." So maybe Maraqua
isn't gone for good. We'll just have to wait and see. Until next time, this
