I am never going to be in the pound again!

Pet Name: 894;
Owner: _felicia_
Breed: Grundo

About 894;:

I could still vividly recall the day I set my eyes on this frail little creature in the Neopian pound. She was sitting all alone in a corner of the room, totally engrossed in a tattered old storybook. As I slowly approach her, she lifted up her head and looked up at me, her big red eyes bright and alert. Suddenly, she broke into a warm disarming smile, her laughing eyes gleaming at me. She was a total change from all the other pets that I had seen in the adoption centre. They were a picture of grief... their pale little faces showed unhappiness and they constantly wore a petrified look on their faces as though Ms Worley the caretaker would leap on them any moment.

Fascinated with this little creature which has a sunshine smile, I stooped down and asked her what her name was. But all I got was a glibberish reply which made no sense to me. It sounded like a foreign language to me. As if she could read my mind, the creature clutched at one of my fingers and slowly led me towards Ms Worley who eyed us with contempt. When I enquired her about the creature's background, she impatiently passed me a record book where I found all the info that I needed. I learned that her name was 894; , a grundo and she had been in the pound since young. Born in a faraway galaxy, 894; still speaks in her native alien tongue. Everything she said were spelled backwards... making it hard for people to understand her. It might explain why her previous owner had abandoned her soon after creating her.

My heart went out to this little creature... As I thought of my other pet Kacheek back at home. I was certain that 894; would make a perfect sister for _Millenium_. With 894; still tugging onto my finger, I announced to Ms Worley about my decision to adopt the grundo. There was a slight sneer in Ms Worley's face as she proceeded to make the necessary arrangements. By end of the day, I strode out of the Neopian pounds with a new member in my Neopet family: 894; the Grundo... ^_^

Footnotes: Now, 894; is a terrific shade of silver. She mingles well with her brother _Millenium_ and her other new siblings. Oh.. By the way, she even has a pet Spyder of her own! 894; dotes on ItsyBitsy so much that it follows her wherever she goes..
