Pet Name: Quebecoise
This is the story of Quebecoise's life....
It was a dark night, the sky was illuminated by a full moon. In a burrow
located in the lush forests of Neopia, A mother Usul gave birth to a litter
of tiny baby Usuls. As a mother normally would, she began to nurse and care
for her young ones, when suddenly, to her surprise, she found that one of
her Usul babies was... well... odd. All her other young ones had a golden
tint to their fur, but this young one had fur as white as the moon in the
sky. Just by looking at her odd female offspring, the mother knew that this
Usul was special. She named her little white Usul 'Quebecoise'.
Growing up, Quebecoise had a hard time, all the other pets at the training
schools laughed and joked about her white fur, calling her "oddball" and all
other sorts of mean names. Quebecoise hated that she was different, and
often ran home crying to her mother.
One day, at school, during reccess, Quebecoise was sitting on a bench,
alone, sadly watching the other pets play and laugh together. She sang
softly to herself, keeping herself company, when a small Quiggle whom she
recignized from her class hopped over to her. "Excuse me," he said, "Is
that you singing?"
"Yeah it is. Are you going to make fun of my singing too?" Quebecoise
"Noooo!" The Quiggle shouted. "I think it's beautiful!"
The Quiggle took Quebecoise by the hand and led her into the school, to the
chorus room. He brought her over to a desk where a lady Blumaroo sat doing
some paperwork. "This is the chorus teacher, Quebecoise." said the Quiggle.
"I think she should hear you sing." The young Quiggle tapped the teacher
on the shoulder and informed her about Quebecoise.
"This little Quiggle tells me you have quite a voice!" The Teacher smiled.
"Would you do me the honor of singing for me?"
Quebecoise was shy, she felt like there were tiny Buzzes flying around in
her tummy. She opened her mouth and began to sing.
"A million stars light
This beautiful night
This is not a night to die
Let me sing and dance
Beneath the sky-"
The teacher cut her off. "That's so beautiful.... Quebecoise, where did you
learn to sing like that?" she questioned. Quebecoise had no answer. Her
beautiful voice came naturally.
Quebecoise's fame originated on that day. She began singing more often, and
more people listened. She sang for the school at reccess because no one
wanted to play (and oh, by the way, no one made fun of her any more :) ),
they just wanted to listen to her sing. Her fame grew and she was soon know
all over Neopia as "The little Usul with the Big Voice". All this attention
and fame was a dream come true for Quebecoise. She recorded many albums and
has sold more records than any other musical Usul, and is now one of the
most popular Usuls in all Neopian history.
Sidenote - Quebecoise was made in honor of my favorite musicians, Celine
Dion. When Celine first started singing in Charlemagne, Quebec, she was
nicknamed "Le Petit Qubecoise" which in English means "The Little Quebecker"
