You stroll amiably up Ticki Tack Street, gazing at the Neohomes and wondering how to get off Mystery Island. The place is quiet, and although you're not fond of the Island Natives, you smile at the Neopets gamboling in their gardens. Suddenly, a brightly colored sign thrust into the ground catches your eye. It reads:
"BEWARE OF SNARHOOK!!!!"
How odd. You open the door of the Neohome, and step inside.
A Lupe sits contentedly on a purplish cushion.
"Ahhh, a visitor," he says mildly. You notice the scars on him from the Battledome. "We don't get many visitors," he continues in his dulcet voice.
"We?"
"Ah, well, my Snarhook and I."
You ask about the sign outside.
The Lupe suddenly seems shifty. "Erm, you see, about that...." He says hastily... Then, without warning, a tiny green blob with a blood-curdling shriek hurls itself at your head! You feel the soft hands grab fistfuls of hair, and get a blurred image of a long curling snout.
"NOOOOOO! PLUSHIE!!!" The Lupe springs from his cushion and grabs the Christmas Snarhook clinging to your head, apologizing and begging forgiveness. He manages to detach the Petpet from your head, and then deftly chains the Snarhook to a sofa nearby. The Christmas Snarhook squeals and wriggles in it's bonds. "Blonde! Me like BLONDE!!!" it cries.
Massaging your scalp, you gaze, speechless, as the Snarhook manages to calm itself. It makes peaceful chirping noises, looking fondly at the blue Lupe.
"I'm sorry, he has this thing about hair..." the Lupe begins. "When I adopted Plushie, it seemed normal. When I took it to a hairdresser's, it got hit on the head with a blow-dryer. Plushie's never been the same."
You have a novel idea. Taking a pair of scissors, you snip a lock of hair from your head, and stuff it into the Balthazar plush on the floor. You hand Plushie the Snarhook the toy. "HAIR!!" it screeches, snuggling the hair-stuffed doll.
The Lupe thanks you repeatedly, and you leave with an uneven haircut.
Plushie the Christmas Snarhook is a Petpet like no other, you think to yourself.
