When she came home, she was chirping and crying;
For a bird half dead, her voice was so loud!
Surely she was annoying,
So I decided to throw her out.

But dear Skye looked at the fellow
"She's adorable!" she did say,
"With stunning eyes oh so yellow!
Oh, let's keep her at least for another day."

So Skye decided to look after the baby;
She fed the youngster this and that,
And used her wits to make the bird cozy.
I must say, she did a fine job in fact.

I always doubted the chirper would survive,
For Skye's so forgetful and so very clumsy.
But the bird made it and can now fly so high!
Even has acute sense of sight and talons that ain't so flimsy.

Her incredible hearing can detect
Even the little drops of wine.
Her witty intelligence
Way outsmarts mine.

As Kira matured,
Some things turned over,
Now it was the bird
That took care of her clumsy master!

"Hoot! Hoot! Hoot hoot hoot!"
(Watch out for that tree!)
Kira would holler and whoot
But Skye would get in trouble, in just a count of three.

As time passed these two grew closer
There was no moment when they were apart!
They may argue and quarrel at times with each other,
But they knew they were in each other's hearts.

Poor Kira, having to put up with Skye
And I always wonder how she's doing this everyday.
But let me tell you something and this ain't a lie
This smart horus always finds a way.
