Contest:
Fruit of a Different Kind

Gadgadsbogen Fun
Gadgadsbogen is almost here and we thought it might be nice to have you make Neopian fruts! As always there are rules that you must follow. Please only use any combination of pipe cleaners/chenille stems or yarn to make your lovely fruits. The fruit should be Neopian. Please make these on your own. Your submission should include a picture of the fruit that you made, and what you used to make it in the description. We will judge entries on beauty, creativity, and their overall awesomness. :)

First Place

Eight winners receive the Random Contest avatar, 10,000 NP and an item of DOOM.

Various Blue Fruits of Neopia
by ashydoodles
After chosing the color of yarn I would use, I went on the search for blue fruits. I couldn't pick just one once I began. Each fruit is crocheted mainly with baby blue yarn but they also contain tan, white, grey, green and black for details. I used a Size I cochet hook and medium sized yarn and made my own pattern for each fruit.

Knitted Blurf
by crystallus
Is that a Blurf tree I see? No, impossible, those are far too rare. I wonder why it's hanging there though.

To make this lovely Blurf I used:
-Yarn (orange and blue)
-Knitting needles
-Circle loom
-A ridiculously large needle

The body of the fruit was made on the circle loom, while the leaves were knit using the needles. The body was then stuffed with batting before being sewn shut. To top it all off, I braided some dark yarn into a stem and sewed it and the leaves onto the blue fruit. Voila! A fruit even the pickiest eater wouldn't turn their nose at.

Tigerfruit
by ehresko
With fun loving stripes, how couldn't I resist making this lovely fruit by utilizing crochet amigurumi skills :)

Qando Fruit
by hallytah
Materials:
Fruit body (3 pyramids): blue pipe cleaners
Thorns: red and black pipe cleaners
Leaves: green pipe cleaners
Silicone
I used some pipe cleaners to make my neopian fruit; all pipe cleaners were joined with silicone.
I made three pyramids of the same size, and cut 12 red pipes cleaners of 1 cm each, and black pipes cleaners of 0.5cm each, then I used silicone to put it all together.

Shishkafruit

My brain
Shishkafruit Image
Time
I made this Shishkafruit using red and green pipe cleaners; I think that the hardest form was the circle. I used glue to attach all the pieces and the result was this awesome Fruit.

Hasee Yay!
by onlyoneword_9
Materials: Yarn, stuffing, Hasee!
I made three doughnutfruit by crocheting a simple doughnut and adding the leaves. Then I stuffed them and sewed up the middle. Each doughnutfruit took about 45 minutes to complete.

Pick Your Own
by willy33319
I decided to crochet my eight favourite berries from Pick Your Own (and a piece of wool).
Materials: Lots of yarn, wool, pipe cleaners, sweat and tears.

Knitted Gobi Fruit
by yzzif
I used two types of yarn, one self-striping and one solid green, to make this Gobi Fruit! I knit it on US size 0, 1, and 8 knitting needles.

Second Place

Twelve lucky people have 5,000 NP, the Random Contest avatar and an item whizzing their way.

Smelling Like a Roseatte
by _sumojoker_
Made with white yarn bound around chenille stems held together with glue and delicately painted with water colors to varying degrees of ripeness.Who needs a breath mint when you can make your breath smell like flowers?I wouldn't eat these particular samples, even though they may appear rather tempting. :P

Brightvale Fruit
by animal10019
After choosing the fruit and fetching the pipe cleaners to make them, I began by making a simple skeleton around which I would wrap and shape the fruit. The skeletons consisted of between two and four cleaners depending on the fruit. I then wove more cleaners in and around the skeleton, using pliers to help me grasp the slippery stems (and avoid being poked by pointy ends :P). The leaves were done in a similar manner and then poked into the top of the fruit, and tah-dah! Five Brightvale fruit at your service :)

Fuzzy Assortment of Neopian Fruits!
by butterfinger03_aa
To make my Neopian fruits, I knitted standard yarn into various sized rectangles- according to the fruit. Once the yarn was knitted, I shaped the knit patches into the form of fruits, using more yarn to tie the pieces together. Then, using pipe cleaners, I added the extra details such as leaves, stems, etc. The fruits shown are Cube-Shaped Lemon, Peachpa, Fundus Fruit, and Yellow Doughnut Fruit. They are very fuzzy and colorful but they don't taste as good as they look!

Tropical Fruits!
by jubergoober11
I decided to knit my favourite tropical fruits in honour of Gadgadsbogen! All fruits were made by knitting flat, sewing up the edges and stuffing it full. The spots were stitched on and the leaves were made separate, and then added on.

Little Fat Tchea Fruit
by karmacow
It was the easiest decision in the world to go with the Tchea Fruit, as it's my absolute favourite food in Neopia. I love it as much as you can love any fruit that you have technically not ever tasted.

Hot Skrazzle
by kayinsane
Hot Skrazzle made of wavy chenille stems !

Boingari
by ktuloo
a bouncy (and fluffy) Boingari fruit made out of yarn, using knitting needels and a crochet hook.

Twirly fruit
by mistmermaid9
This is a Neopian Twirly Fruit crocheted with green yarn ^_^ Thank you for considering my entry!

Loveberry
by pritkin
Valentines may be over but who doesn't love a loveberry?
Materials: Just yarn!

Juppies Galore
by qidditchpixie
Juppies Gallore! All the juppies in a cute little knitted form made with yarn. Materials included yarn, stuffing, scissors, tapestry needles and knitting needles.

Natural Colors
by rilja
I was inspired by the new Chia color Agueena. So 1 crochet a soft and squishy Agueena of my very own to squeeze and cuddle. I used some scrap-yarn and a crochet needle.

Crochet Chokato
by x_amberle_x
I made my chokato out of yarn and pipe cleaners! First I crocheted the body, then the leaves. I wove the leaves into the body and stuffed the fruit with loose yarn. I made pipe cleaner spots and looped them through the stitches in a random fashion. Tada! Chokato! Enjoy, and Happy Gadgadsbogen.

Third Place

Lastly there were 35 runners-up who will each receive 2,000 NP and the Random Contest avatar.
