Neopets TCG

Card of the Day

Every day (well, most of them) we will release a new Card of the Day. Keep checking back, as you never know what interesting strategies and combos you will find!

42. KANRIK

Hints and Tips

Kanrik, what a nice guy. Or so Hannah thinks so, but unfortunately she is quite wrong. Kanrik is a thief, and although he is one of many searching for the gem he does have a couple of tricks up his sleeve, and convincing Hannah to help him out was indeed a stroke of genius.

In the Neopets TCG, Kanrik is a Villain, the second one that we have featured from the Hannah expansion set. His stats really only mean that he is going to be useful in Agility or Intelligence, as even a Basic Neopet could beat a 9 or 13. 15 and 17 are still not that high compared to villains such as The Darkest Faerie or Eliv Thade, but Kanrik is helpful in other ways.

When you play Kanrik you can search your deck for an Item, put it in your hand, and then shuffle your deck afterwards. The ability to search for any item whatsoever is extremely powerful, especially as it is effectively a free ability (it does not require you to tap a Neopet). A game of the Neopets TCG can go in many different directions, and Kanrik basically allows you to choose whatever Item would be best given the current state of play.

Also, as a brief note, simply the ability to shuffle your deck can be handy. There are many cards that allow you to see what is coming next, such as Lucky Coin or The Golden Shoyru. Don't like what you see? A quick shuffle should take care of that.

Play Kanrik in decks that are built around item combos. That is, a combination of a couple of cards that works well if a specific item is required. If you do have powerful items, then consider using Kauvara's Potion and Scroll of Recall too!
