 Pet Name: Graxzer Owner: matt3rz Breed: Meerca About Graxzer: "Alc? Hey, wait up...Alc!" Mumbling “pardon me”s beneath his breath, Graxzer dashed nimbly through the crowd of bustling shoppers in the Brightvalean square, most of whom were all to eager to make way for a mutant Meerca. He gripped his knit blue cap to his head with one hand, the other grasping a small burlap sack with what looked like vegetables inside, as he strove to catch a glimpse of his brother Alcanthry. Sure enough, just ahead of the main crowd, the Buzz strode whistling along the side of the road. Graxzer muttered darkly, sliding deft as a Cobrall through the mass of busy townsfolk until he finally managed to sidle up to the Buzz. "Alc!" he shouted, unfeigned irritation in his voice, as he waved the burlap sack. Alcanthry started and made a sharp turnabout. The Buzz's eyes, wide with shock at first, gradually faded into friendly recognition and surprise at the sight of his brother. "Graxzer! And what are you doing out here...I mean, how did you know I was...I didn’t tell…" "Doesn't matter, does it?" The Meerca shrugged. "Anyways, I got something for you. You said something about wanting a new…oh, cheese ingredient from Mystery Island?” Before the Buzz could say a word, Graxzer pulled him into a nearby alley and flourished the sack. “Fifteen pounds of fresh Transparaberries. Enough for fifty batches of Transpara-cranberry cheese…that is, if I heard you recite the recipe correctly?” Without giving Alcanthry a chance to respond, Graxzer tossed the sack into his brother’s astonished arms. “All yours.” Alcanthry stared, and when he attempted to speak, could only stutter incoherently. “But…that’s impossible…discontinued from the marketplace…must have cost a fortune…I mean…fifteen pounds?!” The Meerca only grinned, patting the sack. “No worries, Alc. Make your specialty cheese.” Then with a wink – or rather, a blink of his one eye – he melted into the shadows before Alcanthry could say another word… --- NOTE: Since he first read a story of the exploits of Meerouladen and Heermedjet, the infamous Meerca Henchmen, Graxzer began to dream of a life of thievery. His blue cap testifies to the admiration he feels for Meerouladen especially, and his intense love of burglary has led him to nearly perfect the art. Ironically, however, Graxzer’s thefts have always been for the benefit of others; he has never peddled his trade, only used it to provide gifts and surprises for his buddies and siblings. Yes, the irony of Graxzer is that though his hobbies often appear to be less than respectable, his heart remains as generous and amiable as ever. Our intention in submitting this spotlight is to secure for Graxzer, if he wins the trophy, some token of our family’s thanks for his deeds while at the same time attempting to encourage him to use less shady methods of procuring his gifts. We know, based on our understanding of his love of shiny, valuable things, that he would treasure it like nothing else. Thank you.
