Falling into Place

Fall is here!

There are many reasons to gather your family together in the fall for meals. In celebration of harvest festivals etc. our task for you over the next couple of weeks is to create placecards. Not just any placecards (and holders) though... these should be Neopian and fall themed. You do need to explain why you decided to make the placecards you did and why they are Neopian and fall themed. The placecards should be 100% made by you. We will expect a full description of how you made the placecards (and holders) and what you used to make them. We will judge entries based on theme, creativity, and how fun they are. :)

Fall Sprinkle

For my placeholders, I was inspired by the Fall Sprinkle Cupcake. Cupcakes are a fun way for people to know which seat is theirs (especially for people with special diet needs) and doubles as dessert! I prepared my favorite cake mix (you can use a boxed mix or your favorite recipe) as directed. Dye vanilla (or white) frosting yellow and add decorative sprinkles and leaves. Print out your favorite fall-themed image and write names on it with a gold paint pen. Glue a toothpick to the back and stick it in the top of the cupcake. Decorate your place setting with fun fall confetti and pretty napkins!


Meowclops Placecard

My placecard and holder was inspired by the petpet Meowclops. For the holder, I created the head and paws of the meowclops using a paper base and glueing on different colored string to make the fur, eye, facial features, and claws. I then glued the white placecard under the claws. It was supported by two folded fans glued to the back of the meowclops (for some extra buoyancy since the head was pretty heavy). I really had a fun time designing and 'fluffing' up my meowclops, and I also got to watch it stare at me while I ate lunch. :)


Quiggley Placecard

Why is it that we get to go to all the festivals but often our Neopets get left in their pen at home? Well now our pet has their own seat at these special events. I have created a fall vegetable themed placecard holder inspired by my lovely mutant quiggle Ballook! I made it out of polymer clay and acrylic paints and he's holding a card Autumn leaf of which I also painted. I hope you all enjoy!


Fall Box

My art is inspirated in a Fall gift box, but thats is no just a box,... these is a placecard and holder. Ok, i need confess i don't speak english and so sorry for that, but look a positive side: you can express yourself no matter where you're (: So... I just used a imagination and creativity to made that box, and I to complete my placecard, I added a baby gnorbu because he is so cute ^^ I don't use expensive materials, thats is easy to do and is only cut many leafs of paper, paste in the box, added a ribbon red, make a bow with real leafs, and a placecard and holder.

Fall Has Arrived!

Being the totally obscure person I am, I didn't want to draw the Halloween Jubjub or Kiko, who are conveniently pumpkin shaped (and perfectly fitting because of their costume). Then, I wondered what happened to Woodland Neopets during Fall, and I decided "instead of moping around, they'd enjoy it! They'd even try to stomp on their own leaves!" So that was that - a Woodland Blumaroo, celebrating the new season! Initially, the Blumaroo was going to hold a pumpkin, standing amidst plenty of golden leaves, then I remembered why people celebrated fall: because of the harvest! The "standing on leaves" idea was scrapped, replaced with a basket full of healthy goodness.

Lupe Place Holder And Card

This place holder is supposed to be a Spotted Lupe (which I think looks rather autumn-ish) with the Fancy Autumn Leaf Wings on. The place card it's self is supposed to be a fallen leaf. The Lupe's paws are wrapped around the leaf, holding it up. The holder is made of cardboard and while the place card is just paper. Both were colored in with marker cause I didn't have any paint to use on the holder. I tried hard to get the look right on the wings and I'm not sure if I fully succeeded but I feel rather proud of my little creation :3


Piles of Apples!

I was bobbing for apples one day when an idea struck! I should make my very own barrel of apples along with a friendly slorg to guard it. Making this place card was tons of fun! I began by glueing a picture of some wood I found here in Neopia onto a small garden pot. I let it dry and then applied some candle wick for the bow and a bit of ribbon near the base. I filled up my "barrel" with some plastic holly berries that I had around to represent the apples. After that I found a bit of paper to use as a card for my name. For my little slorg friend I began with some beige modeling clay that I had worked into a basic slorg shape. I cooked the base and his eyes in the oven for a few minutes and then set him out to cool down. Once he was nice and cool, I painted him with acrylic paint and then set him aside to dry. Once everything was all ready, I took a few pictures and came up with what you see now!


Simple Fall Placecards!

Fall is here and it's time for festivities! I brightened up my house with these cute placecards. These only took about half an hour to make. I wish I could have used them for Thanksgiving, but it was too late. ): I'm definitely using them next year!


Gobbler Placecard

My entry is an Autumn Harvest Basket and Honeyed Horn Of Plenty bearing Gobbler placecard. When I think of Autumn, I think, of course, of thanksgiving, and all the beautiful colors of the scenery around the world! My inspiration was the petpet Gobbler, and the various items around neopia which reflect thanksgiving, and autumn! I used: Micron Pencil, Black Felt Pen, and Crayons., Paper, Cardboard, Cutlery, Paper Napkin.

Ghostkerchief's placecard

Supplies: Scissors, clue, white and black carton, glitter glue, pen, little black bow, grain motif, foam pumpkins and white nail decoration polish.
1) Draw random Neopets tombstone on black carton and cut it out.
2) Draw Ghostkerchief on white carton (remember hor-ver canvas), color it and cut out. Be careful with top of the head.
3) Clue Ghostkerchief on a tombstone.
4) Write text with pen.
5) Use white nail decoration polish and glitter glue on text.
6) Clue little black bow.
Clue card on foam pumpkin and grain motif on a card. Enjoy! :)

Haunted Fall

It's not because the Halloween has ended that the Haunted Woods can't celebrate anymore! The Brain Tree is still celebrating, with the upcoming Fall!! Even for a dark place like the Haunted Woods, the leaves bring color and happiness to the place. This is my first entry in a Random Contest and I really hope you like it! I worked hard for it, specially cutting and pasting around 100 leaves of paper! But it was fun at all. In the end my project turned out a little bigger than I thought, but I think it still can be used as a placecard, for a big table with a lot of people!!!


Leaf Raking Party

I love fall. I enjoy watching the leaves change colors, but even better than that is when the leaves fall to the ground. My friends and I rake them up and jump into them, or run through them. I made a slorg placecard holder because I love slorgs, since they are the petpet most like my nickname (wormie) and because they are cute. The fall theme brings in leaf raking, and the warm colors of autumn. I made the placecard with photoshop. The holder I made using a metal jar lid, a small lump of clay, duct tape, hot glue, a tooth pick, and leaves. The lump of clay was put into the bottom of the jar lid, to support the tooth pick. The duct tape was cut to look like the top of a rake, and hot glued to the top of the tooth pick. The leaves were chopped up to make smaller leaves, then scattered into the bottom of the lid. The placecard was intertwined into the tines of the rake, and the project was done.
