Stylish Wearables for UN-Valentine's Day!

by _brainchild_

--------

---Starring Maldice the Stealthy Draik, Malmagma the Magma Draik, Malumbra the Halloween Draik, and Christine, their owner!---

Christine: Welcome! When Valentine’s Day rolls around, most Neopians think of the colour pink---

Malumbra: PINK?! Sparkles?! Those pastel heart candies with “Be Mine” messages on them?! EWWW!!! Forget it!

Maldice: Agreed... I wouldn’t be caught DEAD in a pink dress. Let’s bring in some gothic stuff for UN-Valentine's Day. ---cackles---

Malmagma: I would like to see some gothic wearables. No pink this un-Valentine’s Day!

Christine: That’s why we are not bringing in pink wearables today, despite what you may see on the average Neopet walking down the street this time of year. I’ve selected some lovely gothic wearables for all of you to enjoy!

     Malumbra: Wow! Thank you!

Christine: Of course! I knew that you three would not want to wear pink, so I got these instead. Without further ado, here are the wearables:

---Dyeworks Red: MME18-S4a: Gothic Blossoms Foreground---

Maldice: Yay! A nice bed of blood-red flowers for UN-Valentine's Day. These would be great for Halloween, too!

Malumbra: Or any time of year, for that matter. Replace cheery tinsel and ornaments with these nice gothic blooms.

Malmagma: Very nice... Just keep them away from flames. I have a feeling that it would be rather easy to set these on fire with my flaming tail...

Malumbra: Let’s see... ---looks at the tag on fake floral fabric--- Warning! Flammable. Not recommended for Fire- or Magma-painted Neopets.

Christine: Oof... Sorry. I hope that Maldice and Malumbra can still enjoy it, though.

     Maldice: I have an idea...

---Maldice waves her magical wand and says a few words.---

Maldice: Now we have REAL flowers which will never wither.

Malmagma: Awesome! I love the power of dark magic.

     Malumbra: Same here!

          ---Gothic Black Rose Bouquet---

Malumbra: Yay! Not a hint of pink here.

Malmagma: I hear that these smell like licorice. ---takes a sniff--- Indeed, they do.

Christine: Well, I can’t stand licorice, so you can keep those.

Malumbra: Licorice is one of those foods which you either love or hate. I, for one, am a fan!

Christine: ---bleh--- I even hate the smell!

Maldice: Well, I have an idea that will make everyone happy.

---Again, Maldice waves her magical wand and says a few words.---

Maldice: Now they smell like actual roses.

Christine: ---takes a sniff--- MUCH better! I never want to smell liquorice again in my life.

Malumbra: Don’t worry. I’ll keep my liquorice away from you.

          ---Gothic Cherub Wings---

Malumbra: Wanna dress like a cherub without all the frills and bows? Well, these look perfect. I love the eerie red glow!

Malmagma: Agreed. What makes them glow, anyway?

Maldice: I cast a spell on them so they’d look even cooler!

Malmagma: Great! Again, I love dark magic.

Christine: These tiny wings may not be nearly as big as a pair of swooping Draik wings, but they still look very cool nonetheless. I don’t think that wearable wings can grant the ability to fly to, say, a Kacheek, though.

Maldice: With the right spell, that Kacheek would be flying just as high as any Draik.

Malumbra: Magic really is a startling thing... Almost anything can be done with the right spell. Neopets can be regular shapeshifters... It must be a headache for the criminal justice system, with suspects morphing themselves to stay under the radar.

Maldice: I know, right? I despise criminals. That’s why I help the Defenders of Neopia find suspects regularly.

Malmagma: We are WAY off topic. Anyway, great wings!

          ---Gothic Girl Wig---

Malumbra: A hairstyle in which the hair makes up a pair of horns... I LOVE THIS!

Malmagma: I know, right? Great for Halloween.

Malumbra: For us gothic girls, every day is Halloween.

Maldice: True... Dyeworks versions of this wig would be great. I can see a black Gothic Girl Wig now...

     Malumbra: I’d love that!

Christine: Well, the dark red colour is great for Valentine’s Day, if you ask me.

Maldice: True... A bright red wouldn’t be bad, either.

Malumbra: At any rate, this wig would be great for a spooky Halloween costume.

          ---Gothic Heart Valentine Garland---

Malumbra: PERFECT! I love the black lace and dark red hearts.

Maldice: Me, too... It reminds me of the Dark Lace Dress.

Malmagma: True... That’s a rather popular and hard-to-find dress, but at least there are Dyeworks versions!

Malumbra: I can see this garland paired with either the original or red Dark Lace Dress.

Malmagma: That would look great! Lace isn’t just for those who love ---bleh--- pink and sparkles.

Maldice: The Lace Curtain Garland should get the gothic treatment next!

Christine: While none of us can predict what future Dyeworks items will look like, the Gothic Heart Valentine Garland is perfect for your gothic pets this un-Valentine's Day.

          ---Gothic Red Rose Necklace---

Christine: Here is a perfect accessory for the gothic Neopet in your life.

Malumbra: ...And perfect it is! From the oversized rose to the studs on the collar, I love it.

Malmagma: And best of all, the rose is made of metal, so it won’t wilt.

Christine: ...Or smell like licorice, for that matter.

Malumbra: If anything, it would smell like paint.

Maldice: True, but whether it smells like liquorice, paint, or anything else, a simple dark magic spell will fix the problem once and for all.

Christine: Yeah, but not everyone is skilled in magic, Maldice.

Maldice: True... I’ve heard that magic is the most difficult major at Brightvale University. Many students either give up or accidentally turn someone into a Mortog, unfortunately.

Christine: Which I don’t envy... Leave magic to the experts.

          ---Conclusion---

Christine: So, which item was everyone’s favourite?

Maldice: The gothic blossoms... So much better than a bed of pink roses.

Malumbra: ---bleh--- You can say that again! Anyway, my favourite was the Gothic Girl Wig... The horns are spectacular!

Malmagma: It’s so hard to choose just one, so I’ll say that I liked all of them.

Christine: Fair enough. Anyway, I hope that everyone has a fabulous UN-Valentine's Day. Until next time, dear readers!
