The Tyrannian Plateau rises high above the lush river valley of the jungle below, providing amazing vistas of the active volcano off to the east. Wind has scoured the sandstone constantly over thousands of years, producing the eerie arches and strange rock formations that riddle the area. Stony overhangs provide rare shade from the unyielding sun that bakes the Plateau.

Life is usually peaceful on the Plateau, with the scent of hot Bronto Bites from the local food shop drifting on the air and the Wheel of Monotony ticking away endlessly in the distance. Peaceful, that is, except when a band like Sticks N' Stones is in town. Thousands of screaming Tyrannians fill the Plateau, waiting to see their favourite musical act.

Waiting for a concert

The Tyrannians fought off a terrible invasion shortly after the rest of Neopia discovered their existence, but the Plateau is now a much safer place. Watch for falling rocks, though Tyrannians will assure you that the danger is being handled by a team of professionals at the Destruct-o-Match booth. Visitors are invited to try their hand at demolition. It's almost as exciting as when a time machine crashed here in Year 3. However, care should also be taken not to wander too near the Lair of the Beast... just what sort of ancient monster lurks in that dark cavern is anyone's guess.


Places of Interest

Giant Omelette - Legend has it that hundreds of years ago, a dinosaur of GIGANTIC proportions laid a massive egg. That egg split open, and started to bake in the sun. Ever since then, a Giant Omelette has been cooking on the Tyrannian Plateau. It may seem silly, but it is true. Why don't you break off a piece? It's enough for three meals!

The mysterious obelisk Tyrannian Concert Hall - If your favourite band is playing a gig in Tyrannia, then the place to see them is at the Tyrannian Concert Hall. The hall is reportedly capable of seating upwards of ten thousand spectators, a number which doesn't even include the numerous Tyrannians who climb onto the hall's roof or those who watch from nearby trees.

Tyrannian Town Hall - The Tyrannian Town Hall is a vast rock where the Council of Elders meet in case of an emergency. It is here where you can listen to the great speeches, as well as learn the essential strategies for defending the great land of Tyrannia. If you're lucky you'll be able to sit in on one of their important meetings. Who knows, the elders may even call upon you for some help.

The Obelisk - First discovered in Year 15, the obelisk appeared mysteriously after a series of earthquakes shook the region. Many suspected that the obelisk held ultimate power, and when six factions converged on the site, a war broke out over the right to claim it.
