Mynci Forest and the Cave of the Unknown

As they walked Miimii began complaining about the mud not yet dried up due to the thick growing trees in Mynci forest.

“OH Hush, MIIMII!” Paprika shouted in anger. Miimii promptly quit complaining. Suddenly, Paprika felt something mushy under her toes, she looked down and a small puddle almost as deep as a pond covered her feet. She pulled her feet up disgusted by the grassy mud.

Soon it became dark and they both knew it was dangerous to travel blindly in the dark while in Mynci forest. So they started to put up a tent.

“Cord, nail…” began Paprika.

“What does a nail look like? Does it look like ‘T’ with a ‘L’ connected to it?” asked Miimii.

“Just hand me everything and I’ll get it!” shouted Paprika.

“OK, Hand me four stakes and I’ll tie down the tent.”

“Here you go,” said Miimii handing Paprika four iron nails.

“THESE ARE NOT STAKES!”

“Ohhh, here they are,” said Miimii, handing Paprika four steaks.

“NO, STAKES. NOT STEAKS!”

“This is confusing, here’s everything you get then.” Miimii handed Paprika the toolbox.

After about an hour they had set up their tent, and were in it eating some crackers while it began to drizzle.

The next morning they started walking again after taking down the tent.

“You know Miimii, you really should watch out for… AHHHHH!” Out from a bush came a red kougra.

“Hi, my name is Nalia,” said the kougra in an enchanting voice.

“What are you two doing here in Mynci Forest?” Nalia asked.

“We are going to (snicker) find the (snicker) Light Faerie,” said Miimii in reply.

“You’re trying to what… HAHAHAHAHAHA! Sorry I couldn’t help it. It’s just that you can meet her, but you have to prove yourself worthy, and so few neopians have done it that the ones that did were turned a gold color by the Light Faerie. So I’ll help you get through Mynci Forest.” Nalia informed them. Silently Miimii and Paprika began to follow Nalia. Soon they came to a cave.

“Good luck,” said Nalia

“You’re leaving? But why!” screamed paprika.

“This is the Cave of the Unknown you HAVE to go through it alone, or you’re not worthy of meeting her,” Nalia whispered quite loudly. Paprika and Miimii looked first at each other and then twisted their heads slowly to look at the large horrifying black entrance to the Cave of the Unknown.

They slowly tiptoed into the creepy black hole, and Miimii said, “What if this is the Dark Fearie's home? She’ll be happy to put a curse on us… I don’t want to go through this stupid cave!” she wailed quietly.

“Well, Miimii, if the Dark Faerie does live here we’re definitely going to be cursed if you keep whining,” Paprika whispered.

She obviously was more determined and convinced that they would meet the Light Faerie than Miimii. They soon found themselves at a fork. They looked first at each other then at the three long narrow tunnels in front of them. Paprika held Miimii’s hand and they wondered to the left tunnel and began to tremble as they walked through a cobweb curtain. The blackness scared Miimii so much, she began to breathe a small flame from her mouth while making a quiet purr-like rumble in her throat. As they walked Paprika jostled a large rock with her foot accidentally, and the walls began to shake. Quickly they scrambled to get big rocks to put in the gap at the base of the two walls. Once they had filled the gaps with rocks the size of their heads they walked again careful not to bump any more rocks. Soon they began having to dodge stalagmites and stalactites. And then a light appeared at the end of the long tunnel. They ran as fast as they could and then they saw a horrifying sight.

There in front of them was a black room with a fire burning in the fire place and a cherry wood table in the center, On top of the table were batwing napkins, bangolian (a black flower raised in the garden of the Dark Faerie) cups, eagle leg forks, Korbat fang knifes, and Techo tongue spoons. The chairs were made of iron and had twisting, twirling patterns. The large rug on the floor portrayed the Dark Faerie. The fire cast long scary figures on the walls and floor.

“Let’s go through that back d-d-door,” said Paprika with quivering fear in her voice. They ran and dodged as many things as they could but then suddenly they heard an evil, menacing laugh. The Dark Faerie put out the fire with her magic, and attempted to capture them but Paprika used Magic Pebble and Miimii used Magic Torch and they escaped while the Dark Faerie was on the floor scratching for her wand.
