Items are the objects in Neopia. They can be anything from basic foods to fancy furniture and exotic Battledome items. The buying, selling and trading of items is a large part of Neopian life.

As well as buying items from Neopian shops, you can get hold of practically anything you want through other player's shops or the Auction House and Trading Post.

There are literally thousands of different items in the world of Neopia. Some people chose to collect a particular type, species, colour or flavour of item and then show off their collection in their shop.

Every item in Neopia has a rarity. This refers to how easy it is to get hold of an item. The lower an item's rarity, the more frequently it is stocked in the Neopian shops. Some items are so rare that they will never go on sale in shops. These must be obtained through other means, such as the Hidden Tower, Smuggler's Cove or by winning a contest.
