What Is NeoMail?
NeoMail is the free Instant Messaging service on the Neopets site.

How Do I Send NeoMail?
To send a NeoMail simply click on NeoMail (on the yellow toolbar), then click send. Enter the user name of the person you want to send a message to (they must be your NeoFriend) and the subject of your message. Then type your message in the large white box and press send when you have finished.

How Do I Make A Person My NeoFriend?
To make a person your NeoFriend, you need to know their user name. Then simply go to the NeoFriends section in NeoMail and type in that person's user name. They will then be sent a request from you and they will be asked if they wish to accept or refuse.

Someone Has Requested To Be My NeoFriend. What Do I Do?
If someone has requested to be your NeoFriend, you will be sent an Instant Message informing you of this. When you click on this message, you will be taken to the NeoFriends page where you can choose to either accept or decline their request.

I Can't Use NeoMail, Chat, Or The Message Boards, Why?
From 20th April, all players under 13 must have their parents' permission before they can use NeoMail, read the Message Boards, or use the chat program. This is because of a new law that has been passed (The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act). To continue having full access to Neopets, you need to print out a consent form and then mail or fax it back to us. For more information about this and to print out the consent form, click here.

How Do I Use The Message Boards? To read a Message Board, simply go to NeoChat (on the yellow toolbar) and then click on the Message Board category you are interested in. You will then see a large list of the most recent Message Boards. To read the messages, just click on the Message Board title.

How Do I Create My Own Message Board?
To add a Message Board, simply go to NeoChat (on the yellow toolbar) and then click on Create Your Own Message Board. You will then need to pick a title for your board and then a category. Then just type in whatever message you want it to say, but remember, no profanity or offensive language!

What If I See Something Bad On The Boards?
The Message Boards are monitored 24 hours a day, and there are a number of filters to stop offensive messages being posted. Sadly, some people do slip through. If you see anything that is offensive or makes you uncomfortable, please report it immediately using this form and we will remove it ASAP.
