What is Neopets?
Neopets is a fun virtual pet site. You can create your own Neopets (up to a maximum of 4), feed them, groom them, look after them, customise them and watch them grow. You can also communicate on the Neoboards, play games, create your own Web pages, send Neomail, and lots more.

Does it cost anything?
Nope. Neopets is completely free.

What do I have to do first?
The first thing you need to do is sign up with Neopets. Click here to create your account. You will be presented with the opportunity to create a Neopet during the sign up process. Once you have an account, you can also click on Create a Neopet whenever you decide you'd like to add another Neopet. When you create a Neopet, you can choose your Neopet's species, gender, and even personality. Alternatively, you can adopt one of our abandoned Neopets from the Neopian Pound. Click here to go to the Neopian Pound and adopt a Neopet.

What do I do next?
It's really up to you. You can go to our shops and buy some food and toys for your Neopets. If the main shops are all sold out, try using the Shop Wizard to search for some great bargains in the Marketplace, where users offer items for sale in their own shops. You can set up your own Neopian Bank account, put your valuables in a safety deposit box, and set up your own shop, too. Just browse around the shopping area to see all the things you can do.

There are lots of games to play, including Kacheek Seek, Turmac Roll, Dice-A-Roo, Sakhmet Solitaire and Faerie Bubbles. Most games will earn you Neopoints, so you can buy more things for your Neopet. Click here to play some games.

You can also read our weekly newspaper, The Neopian Times, and catch up on some great stories sent in by other members. If you have something you'd like to contribute, feel free to submit your ideas, suggestions, stories, and pictures from the submission form.

You can join a Guild or search for people with similar interests to become your Neofriends.
