A Tourist's Guide to Coastal Faerieland by black_skull725
--------
When Faerieland fell, it managed to find a snug spot on the coastline of Neopia. The coast was barren and rocky beforehand and largely uninhabited. After Faerieland completed reconstruction of its main lands, Queen Fyora vowed to do something about the coastline as it was considered dangerous for passing ships as well as anyone who tried to go there for a swim. Even the water faeries complained of having to navigate between sharp rocks in order to arrive in Faerieland by sea. After several years of work, the faeries finally completed the restoration work, the Faerieland Tourism Board would like to welcome you to Faerieland's new coastline attractions! Whether your interest is nature or the beach, there is something for everyone here. Here is a guide to all of the places you can visit on a trip out here. Attractions The Poogle Falls and Nature Park One of the more interesting features of the Faerieland coast is that with Faerieland partially below sea level, part of the sea actually flows into Faerieland via a waterfall. The faeries did not want saltwater pouring into Faerie City so they carefully constructed a stream that redirects the water back out to sea eventually. However, the falls are still quite the amazing sight for anyone to see. At about 100 feet tall, many gather during the sunrise and sunset for the exact angle where the falls glow pink for about fifteen minutes. Ensure you arrive here a couple hours earlier to get a good view! Aside from the falls, there is also a nature park nearby where folks can observe Faerie Petpets in their natural habitat. There are wild Caramariller, plenty of cute Barbats that appear at night, Flouds, Flossets, and you may even see a Feloreena. There are even some days where Gwortz likes to turn up in large droves. Follow one of our fine faerie park guides who will assist with identifying any species of Petpet and share as many facts about them as you'd like! Faellie Beach One of the beaches directly west of the Poogle Falls known for its light pink sand that could be found nowhere else, many visitors note how pristine the waters there are. It's also one of the beaches where the Faeries prefer that you keep the noise down so others can simply relax and enjoy the beauty of the area. Another interesting quirk of the beach is that there's a bit of geothermal energy below it, likely caused by some of the rock becoming molten below it when Faerieland landed. For some odd reason, it never cooled off so one could feel a bit of that heat when burying oneself in the sand there. As it is a quiet beach, reservations are required and yes, they are booked months in advance! Nuria Springs Near Faellie Beach, there are a series of saltwater hot springs, also driven by the geothermal heat. As the water is rich in minerals, many across Neopia travel to the springs expecting to improve their skin health as well as spend time relaxing, away from the bustle and troubles in their lives. Unlike the Healing Springs though, the Nuria Springs are not intended to treat, cure, or prevent any disease. As with the Faellie Beach, the Springs are booked well in advance too.
Naia's Shoal Further out from the Faellie Beach is a large sandbar called Naia's Shoal. This is often where one can start a snorkeling trip out to sea. The waters near Faerieland are teeming with various aquatic petpets. Below the surface, one could find interesting creatures such as Baby Blu, Bowla, Eelika, and Pepito. Of course, one could also see the occasional Delfin and Sharky as well, although never together as they appear to be sworn rivals at sea. Not a snorkeler? A helpful water faerie will be able to teach anyone to do so. The Gwortz Wharf Ah yes, no coastline would be complete without a place for someone to park their boat and for boat tours around the Faerieland coast. The docks here are strictly for recreational purposes so you won't find giant commercial boats here. Rather, you'll find sailing clubs who compete monthly in sailing races. Of course, you do not have to be a seasoned sailor here. There will be plenty of instructors on hand ready to help you learn the basics. For more advanced learning, individual clubs are more than willing to teach. Cirrus Beach Now if you are looking for just a beach to party on and enjoy some beach volleyball along with various options for food and drinks, this is your typical beach experience that is east of the Poogle Falls. Perhaps one might even win the Sandcastle building contest here if they come up with the best sandcastle design for the month. Otherwise, the other usual beach activities are present here. If you are looking for a bustling place with lots of activities, this is your place to be. There's even a new aquatic version of Yooyuball, played exclusively with the Faerie Yooyu and of course, lots of swimming. Boween Beach Further away from all of this activity are where the waves are much bigger. While not for the faint of heart, surfing is a very popular water sport here. On occasion, you might also find a water faerie riding the waves with her tail alone. Who knows, you might be able to witness record-breaking surfing here if you're not doing it yourself! Fyora's Beach Finally, Queen Fyora has her own beach somewhere along the coastline, the whereabouts we won't disclose. But rumour has it that she sometimes leaves all the business she must contend with behind to take a well-deserved break. Sometimes her staff also shows up to the beach. After all, all of them need a break sometimes. It's probably best not to disturb them while they are having time to themselves though. Food Faerie Foods Grill A satellite location of the Faerie Foods shop, mostly focused on foods you can grill. Enjoy a well-seasoned grilled faerie artichoke or a Faerieland Gourmet Burger with a side of Fruity Faerie Fingers. Or take a fancy Fyora Day Bento box with you. If you aren't sure what you want, but want to grab a bite, the Faerie Foods Grill would be a wonderful place to start. Illusen's Salad Bar Prefer something lighter? Illusen's Salad Bar can offer salads with any fresh greens and any toppings one could imagine on a salad. Plus all of the dressing is made in-house! Plenty of protein options are offered as well. If a lighter meal is what you're looking for, Illusen's Salad Bar have you covered. Queen Fyora's Delights There's always room for sweets after a good meal or whenever. A selection of Fyora's favourite desserts and beverages are offered here. Enjoy a Fyora Cupcake or a Fyora Day Fizz, or perhaps a Space Faerie Milkshake for an out of the world experience. Or maybe a Simple Fyora Cake will do. Looking for savoury options? There are also savoury pastries here as well and oh, definitely a variety of burritos. Jhudora's Juice Bar I know what you're thinking, perhaps juice bearing Jhudora's name is worth scrutiny. However, rest assured, the owner here simply licensed Jhudora's name and likeness for the alliteration. If you simply want a smoothie or a milkshake or perhaps a healthy frozen juice beverage from freshly squeezed fruits, this juice bar has you covered. The beach can get very warm on some days with all this sun and hydration is important. Drop by for some much needed refreshment! Lodging Faerie Castle Neolodge Most tourists are likely to stay at the Faerie Castle Neolodge. While not beachside, it is renowned for luxurious hospitality at a reasonable rate! And you might even get to see Queen Fyora! There are plenty of easy ways to get from the castle to the beach. It's not a far walking distance and you can enjoy Faerieland's natural beauty. Otherwise, there is a cloud racer shuttle that can transport you quickly to the beach and back. The Patamoosian Of course, no beach would be complete without a visit to the fine little lodge along the side that serves as a place to stay for some tourists along with an event space. It's also a great place to grab a bite to eat and a sip of one of Faerieland's finest beverages. Enjoy a little respite from the Sun and come chill in The Patamoosian on Cirrus Beach. Accessibility Statement All attractions are connected via flat, wooden boardwalk which allows easy access for tourists in mobility devices. Outside of Faellie Beach, other locations also have designated sensory areas for tourists that need those accommodations. Earplugs, fidget toys, and other equipment are available on loan. Just please make sure to return things (other than consumable items like earplugs) back to the booth where you borrowed them from. For other accessibility needs and accommodations, please see the help booths or reach out to the tourism board in advance. We hope to make your visit a blast and look forward to accommodating all of our guests. So there you all have it, after many long years of fixing things up, the Faerieland coastline is finally ready to receive tourists. The Faerieland Board of Tourism welcomes all to take advantage of all Faerieland has to offer. And while you are here, don't forget to visit the rest of Faerieland! After all, most of it is fully repaired now and there's no longer any danger of it falling out of the sky.
