Hissi at the Beach by phi1997
--------
When the sun shines high and trueAnd the sea is a deep blue There will never be A pet with more glee Than one that is a Hissi The Hissi adore beach sand The best terrain in the land Its softness and heat Makes slithering sweet A joy that just can’t be beat They travel down to the shore For ocean fun they adore Swaying side to side Over waves they glide With swimming skills they can’t hide Their bodies cut through the sea They dance through water with glee For serpentine tails Are better than sails To weave swift watery trails Some Hissi like to stay dry Or have something else to try So downwards they dig A burrow not big A soft den they jury-rig Others prefer to dig deep Looking for riches to keep And keep it in mind Whatever they find Is shared with friends who are kind Hissi have a skill that’s rare With wings, they take to the air With the same motion Used in the ocean They soar without commotion Up in the skies they can scout A sunny place to hang out Then as if on cue They’ll gather their crew For a seaside barbecue And when a Hissi needs rest They’ll find a good place to nest And when they are done To wrap up the fun They’ll bask and nap in the sun So when you go to the beach And want a friend within reach Invite a Hissi And soon you will see The greatest joy there could be
