Quote of the Week

"Courage can look like a lot of different things. It can look like a little girl finally standing up to the playground bully – and getting her glasses snapped in the process. It can also look like that same girl, sitting alone in a darkened room, holding her breath in front of the computer’s glow, mustering up the bravery to enter the Haunted Woods for the first time. Heroism and courage and friendship and love are learned as a person grows. And those old Neopets that exist still today, the relics from 18 years past, witnessed it all."

Bearing Witness

Coming back to Neopets after a long, long time requires a little bit of courage, a little bit of tact, and a willingness to hold in a bated, silent breath. It’s a chance to open up and rummage through long-forgotten cupboards of memories, and perhaps even come face-to-face with a past version of one’s own self. The journey is a quiet, personal one, full of soft steps and gentle hands.

14 NP Valentine's Gifts for That Special Someone!

It is that time of the year again, Neopians! When we start to hear the Pteri sing a different tune, the flowers smell just a touch more fragrant, the Food shopkeeper is giving you kind of a weird look, and everyone seems to be acting with more kindness. Yes, yes, I am talking about Valentine’s Day. We all have our own associations with this holiday, some good, some bad, some sad, some funny… and yet, every time it comes back around there is this certain sense of wanting to give more and treat others with more love.

"It's Basic Logic" by i_lovee_icecream
BZZZT, BZZZT, BZZZT. The alarm clock blared and shook the bed Arya slept in. She yawned for an absurdly long time, stretching her hooved arms out in front of her.
“Six o’clock already?” she groaned. Time to wake up and go to work. She got dressed and plodded towards the kitchen.
Arya was a petite green Uni who was not a morning Neopet. A scowl crept across her face as she made her daily coffee and marshmallows, resenting her need to be awake at this hour. Grabbing her mug, the grumpy Uni headed out of the front door.

"Adventures in Meridell" by dunefurandlilypelt
It was a rainy day in Meridell when Ansley, a Yellow Uni, woke up. And she hoped it would stop raining soon, because today was supposed to be a great day for exploring.
"There's a Baked Rye Loaf for you for breakfast," her older brother called from across their tiny Neohome. "And there's some fruit, but could you please save most of it for Jack?"
"Sure thing, Malcolm," she reassured him. Their other brother, the youngest out of all three of them, had just caught a nasty case of Neezles the other day. The poor Brown Shoyru didn't want to do anything except play with his Angelpuss, Pebbles.

"Roesellah's" by rkbear
Roesellah looked around the shop. It was empty, but it was hers. She had saved for years to buy it. It had large windows that had a view of the sea and the docks. A prime location that would attract the tourists to her store... now all she needed was something to sell. She knew what she wanted to sell but she didn’t know where to get them.
Roesellah had been born on Terror Mountain where flowers were few and far between. There were plenty of trees and Neggs of course but very few flowers. She’d always loved them. Her family, though, never understood this love; as far as they were concerned, flowers had no value.
