"The Juma & the Tomamu: A Shenkuu Fable" by drziggs
In the tall, misty peaks of Shenkuu Mountains, a small Juma Petpet scuffled in the underbrush among the bamboo forests. His pointed snout snuffled among the fallen grass as it searched for delicious Doughnutfruits. The Juma was sly, always knowing the best places to look for hidden fruits, and he carefully treaded through the forest on light paws, an orange tufted tail waving in the breeze. Before long, he came across a still pond with verdant lily pads covering its surface. The Juma quietly waited at the edge of the forest to look for danger before it could take a drink. While not dangerous, the Juma was unsurprised to suddenly see a white-feathered Tomamu glide into the area, the Petpet gracefully landing at the water's edge as it dipped a slender beak into the pond. The Juma grimaced a bit at its elegant entry. Those flying Petpets think they have it all, the Juma thought to itself. Always able to escape, having freedom from the difficult mountain climbs. Someone should bring them down a level. The Juma was quite jealous of the feathery wings of the Tomamu, and looked at its own earthbound paws in disdain, not realising that those same paws gave it the ability to tread without noise, and to dig burrows to safety. Flicking its fire-orange tail, the Juma decided today it would play a trick on the Tomamu. It approached the pond with a swagger and addressed the unaware Petpet.
