The Aisha Burglar

by immortalmina

Clyde tugged the rope as he slowly ascended the tall building. The spotted Aisha hung on tightly as a breeze pushed him into the wall. Clyde stopped to catch his brown Fedora hat from blowing away. The Aisha nearly fell, but he got his hat. "No time to worry about the height," he told himself and began to climb once more.

After the long climb Clyde found the window he was headed for. He pulled out a few tools from an inside pocket of his tan trench coat. He used them to open the window without the alarm going off.

Clyde then opened the window and jumped in. He shut the window and looked around. He was in the office of the leader of the Defenders of Neopia, Judge Hog. The room was filled with Neopian Times pictures of the Moehog and his awards. "He is full of himself."

Clyde then headed for a file cabinet sitting next to the Judge's desk. Clyde once again took out tools to open it. It didn't take him very long. He then went to the files that started with "A".

"Ae, Ag, Ai...ah Aisha Burglar, The." Clyde smiled to himself as he grabbed the file. The Aisha opened it and found a picture of a shadow Aisha. She was dressed in an all black leather suit. Her raven black hair was in a bun. She had a few gray hairs around her face.

"Let's see, 'The Aisha Burglar was once a great thief. After she was caught she was reformed and is now the head professor at the Defenders of Neopia School.' Wait... what?" Clyde reread the words a few times. He could not believe it was true. How could his mother be teaching their nemeses?

That's when Clyde's four ears could hear someone coming. He replaced the file, all but the photo, and shut the cabinet. He then climbed out the window. He stayed next to the window to hear who it was.

"No, I'm sorry. You can't try to find him again! You failed and that is that! Aisha Avenger, you have other cases to worry about. Clyde has been quite for a while now. He may have quit!" Clyde could hear one voice say.

"But Judge Hog! We have his mother! If we used her as bait then we could finally trap the infamous Clyde the Aisha Thief!" a female voice tired to argue.

"No, we will not use Selena. She is reformed and one of our best teachers. I believe she taught you did she not? That's the end of this discussion. Now leave my office before I demote you!" What Clyde believed was Judge Hog yelled. The room then went silent. Clyde knew it was time for him to go.

Once Clyde was down from the building he headed for the school. The Defenders of Neopia School was next to the main Defenders building. He walked around until he saw something that stopped his heart. It was the shadow Aisha from the picture. The only difference was her hair was out of the bun. Her hair reached her waist.

     "Hello, Clyde," the Aisha said.

Clyde didn't know what to do. He had been looking for his mother from the moment she was caught. He never thought he would find her there.

"Mom?" was all he could muster. She smiled. She then grabbed the spotted Aisha and pushed him down into the bushes.

As Clyde watched he saw a white Aisha with long blonde hair who was dressed in white, yellow and orange walk towards his mother. She didn't look happy at all.

"Hello, Aisha Avenger!" Clyde's mother called to the other Aisha. The Aisha muttered something under her breath and didn't even stop.

"Come on Clyde, I'll show you to my room." Clyde followed his mother to her room. Once inside he found that it looked just like his room. It was filled with Neopian Times clippings of him. They were all framed.

The Aisha Burglar smiled as she watched him. She sat down and waited for her son to sit before she began. "I'm sure you have a lot of questions. I can tell you that I didn't want this. I had to do it or things would have been a lot worse for me."

"Why didn't you find me? I've been looking for you," Clyde told her.

"I could risk it. I couldn't let the Defenders find you," she told him.

Clyde knew what she said was true. None of that mattered. "I missed you!" he cried and hugged her. The Aisha Burglar smiled and cried one tear and she hugged her son back.

"I missed you too! I have read all about your exploits, and I've heard from the Aisha Thieves. They were rather harsh on you. If I would have been there, that would never have happened. You also have become very handsome!"

"Now that I found you, you can leave!" Clyde told her as he jumped up.

The Aisha Burglar's smile faded, "I'm sorry, but I do like it here. I will go on one more caper with you. One last hurrah for the Aisha Burglar!"

Clyde considered this. "Alright, anything in mind?"

Clyde's mother sat a moment. "Yes, King Skarl's scepter."

"What not the crown?" he laughed.

"You remember what happened with Coltzan's crown? Well, a scepter isn't as important, but it is still great enough for us to take!" Clyde's mother stood up. Her face seemed to be younger somehow. She put her hair up in the bun. "Let's go!" she told her son.

It took the Aishas a few hours to get to Meridell. They talked on their way. Clyde told his mother all about Artemisluv's and the adventures he had been on. Selena was very impressed with her son.

"So, you did find the Aisha of the Moon. I'm very proud of you my son," she told them as the approached the castle.

The two Aishas scanned the outside of the castle. "He keeps the scepter in a case in the throne room. He only uses it for special occasions," Selena told Clyde. He shook his head yes. Clyde knew she must have had this planned for a while.

Clyde threw his rope into a window. He knew that they didn't need to worry about alarms here in Meridell. Clyde and his mother then climbed the rope. Selena did it with ease. She was always good at this sort of thing.

Once the reached the window Selena hopped into the room. Clyde looked inside and then jumped in as well. The room was empty. All Clyde could see was guards outside the door. He then saw the scepter in a glass case next to the throne. He smiled. This is easy.

Clyde walked to the case watching the floor. His mother jumped up and crawled along the wall with her adapted clawed gloves and sticky boots. They were careful not to touch very much or make too much noise.

Soon the Aishas were both at the case. Selena put her feet on the ceiling and used a sticky hand to grab the case. She then lifted it for Clyde. Clyde looked at the scepter and noticed there wasn't anything guarding it. He scratched his head and picked it up.

As Clyde picked the scepter up it pulled a thread attached to it. The thread was attached to the door and as he pulled it the door flew open. The Draik guards ran into the room. The Aisha Burglar took her sticky hand and used it to fling the glass case at the guards. The case hit them and glass sprayed everywhere.

This didn't stop the guards. Soon the room was filled with them. Clyde and Selena were surrounded. Clyde tipped his hat at the guards and smiled. He then took a ball out of his pocket and threw it at the ground. From the ball came bright pick colored smoke. Clyde and Selena used the smoke to jump out the window.

King Skarl came into the room as the smoke disappeared. "Not again," he yelled. The King then went to a closet full of sceptres. He pulled another one out and placed it where the other had been. The whole time shaking his head.

Clyde and his mother were soon back at her place. "See, I'm not to old for this!" she told Clyde. He smiled.

"Are you sure you don't want to come with me?" Clyde asked Selena.

"I'm sorry Clyde. Anyway, you are owned now. What would those pets and you owner think? It's best I stay here. The Defenders will not get you as long as I can help it," Selena explained. She then handed Clyde the scepter. "Put this with your other steals."

Clyde took the scepter and then hugged his mother. "We will meet again," he told her. Clyde left her room and headed home.

Once home Clyde found his petpet, a brown Snowbunny named Bonnie, sleeping. He went to his trophy case and placed the scepter with the other treasures. He also placed his mother's photo with it. "We will meet again, Mother," he told himself. Bonnie snored in her sleep and turned over.
