An Old Pirate Story by bluebird312297 | |
There was once a Pirate Lupe, named Seyraw Carrogath. He
was a fine first mate on the boat, the Silver Peophin. The captain of the ship
was Captain Grud Bones, an Eyrie. Seyraw was often asked to help find treasure,
buried deep inside the heart of Mystery Island. The crew found it, with the help
of him of course. And he was, and still is, as rich as a king! He's the same as
he was back then, but much richer and older.(And he painted himself Electric.)
One day, a young Pirate Shoyru asked him to tell the story of how he got so rich.
So he told the Shoyru this, "Ahh, well, it was
quite a long time ago, before anything like the Space Station was ever heard
of. Ye didn't know about this, but there was a grand treasure, deep inside Mystery
Island. We were in Mystery Island once, and that's how I got note of the treasure.
I overheard a native talk to his friend about it. About how grand the treasure
was, about how well guarded it was, and about how whoever stuck their noses
into it would be thrown out as soon as their leader knew of it. When I got back
to me ship, me crew was havin' a grog drinkin' contest!"
The Shoyru moaned, "Ohhh, that doesn't sound
very good." He looked kind of sick.
Seyraw said, "Ye looks a bit green around the
gills. Is ye sick?"
The Shoyru answered, "No, no. Please, continue."
"Okay!" Seyraw said. "Our second mate, Lockjaw,
won, but he didn't drink for a long time after that! Haha!
So I told Captain Grud about this and he said,
'Is this true? That means there could be tons of royalties in there and I-I
mean, we could be rich!'
So I said, 'Yup! Really! We'll tell the whole
crew we're going to find the biggest treasure in Neopia!' So the both of us
went around, the next day, telling the everyone in the ship about the treasure,
even the cabin boy! Everyone got ready for the big trip into Techo Mountain.
The pirates started to dig into the hard soil, pushing in with all their might.
The soil was as hard as rock, but once they got about eight feet into the stuff,
the soil got softer. "
The Shoyru's eyes grew wider.
"Ehh," Seyraw asked. "Could ye stop looking at
me like that? Ye is beginning to scare me."
The Shoyru said, "Oh, sorry." He stopped looking
at him.
"Hey!" Seyraw shouted. "If ye wants to hear the
story, ye has to look at me!"
The Shoyru looked back at him.
"Good." Seyraw continued with his story. "And,
well after a few hours, they finally saw a passageway. The soil became a lot
softer, so it was easier to dig. And finally, the hole became big enough for
everyone to crawl in. So, the whole crew, except for the cabin boy, who was
watching out for anyone who might steal the ship.
All of us saw all of the busy natives, hurrying
around for some big ritual that they were going to do. They were carrying fruits,
breads, coins, even swords! And they all looked serious. I guess it wasn't a
laughing matter. Then we snuck under a long table and waited for a very, very
long time before the place was clear. Then, we got up and inspected the place.
It was kind of dark, with only torches to light the place. It was a long hallway,
the floor was dirt, and the place was practically empty, except for the paintings
on the walls and the few tables on the sides. We silently walked through, although
we were spread out, to check each and every room.
Me bandana was getting sweaty, so I took it
off, while inspecting a room. Boy, was I in for a surprise! Once I put it down,
a Geld next to it jumped out of it's bowl and grabbed it. I stuck my hand into
the bowl, trying to get it out. I did finally, but a coconut-headed native saw
me and tried to attack me! Luckily, I had me sword with me. So I-"
The Shoyru asked, "Does this have anything to
do with you getting rich?"
Seyraw answered, "Well, no. But it was exciting,
I can tell ye that!"
The Shoyru rolled his eyes and said, "I want
to know more about the treasure finding, not the fighting!"
"Okay, okay," said Seyraw. "Well, after I defeated
the native, I heard someone yell. I rushed down to the source of the noise,
and there, in front of my face, was a huge pile of treasure, millions of Neopoints,
one hundred morphing potions, and a bunch of extremely rare and powerful Battledome
weapons. Jayherd, the one in the crow's nest, was standing there, grinning.
'I found it,' he said, blissfully. 'I really
did!'
So I asked, 'Do you have your treasure sack?'
He pulled out a large empty bag and answered,
'Yup, definitely.'
So the two of us started digging rapidly in the
treasure, stuffing as much as we could into the bags. We finished quickly, for
fear that that the other scallywags won't get any of our treasure. We started
scampering out of the long dirty hally way, and we ran to the passageway which
we had dug. Well, not really us, actually a few of the other pirates. Then,
we heard the sound of rushing feet. We quickly hightailed out of the passage
way, then ran off to our ship, ready to go back to Krawk Island. But unfortunately,
the other pirates found us first. We-"
The Shoyru blurted out, "Are the scallywags and
the other pirates the same?"
Seyraw answered, "Yes, they were! And if you
want to get home in time for your dinner, you better let me finish!
The both of us crawled into the ship and put
our treasure bags into the storage area of the ship. The other pirates, along
with Captain Grud, bolted off towards the ship, trying to get on before we left.
Another unfortunate event was that the crusty ol' captain got onto the ship,
and what was even worse was that he had his sword with him!"
The Shoyru asked, "Did he have an old sword?"
Seyraw answered, "Yes, and please just let an
old Lupe finished his story.
We bravely took out of swords and fought Grud
until we cornered him. And then, he fell off the ship. Ye know, young un' if
that captain hadn't fallen off the ship, I probably wouldn't be here today.
Anyways, me an' him, Jayherd, we went to Krawk Island, shared a few coins with
the poor, then bought ourselves fine Neohomes and got HUGE bank accounts. Now,
I'm living richly. Hehe, ye can even see Jayherd, umm, somewhere on the island,
hopefully he's not doing one of those dumb 'Better Than Ye' contests. He never
wins."
The Shoyru said, "I thought it was called 'Better
Than You'.
Seyraw replied, "Whatever. Be sure to share this
story with your friends and family, son. They don't like a good story, ye best
be sure to spread it to strangers!" The sun was setting, so the Shoyru walked
home, ate his dinner, and the next day woke up.
Then he went to one of his friends, a Cloud Elephante
named Lucas.
"You'd never guess what I heard last night!"
he excitedly exclaimed. The Cloud Elephante stared at the Shoyru with a confused
look on this face.
