Help for Those in Need

by yautja_warrior

--------

I was once a poor Neopian, unable to feed myself, let alone put food on the table for all my pets. I had four pets and, well, I still do. A Drake, Krawk, Meerca and Nimmo. All went hungry, barely capable of getting a few scraps of omelette to feed the four. To say nothing of the items they wanted! Books and toys, clothes and trips. Like any other Neopet, they wanted cool toys for Christmas and goodies to eat on the holidays.

I came here to help you out of your own situation! You don’t have to sit there and starve any longer! With a little bit of hard work and determination, you can pick yourself up out of the slums and start living in – relatively speaking – luxury!

     Step 1:

You have to eat, right? We all have to eat! It’s a normal thing to deal with on a daily basis. The constant need to fill our bellies with food. Never fear! There are plenty of places and things for you to do to get food and fill your bellies. Even now! Even without neopoints in your pockets! Let me tell you how you can fill your belly so you can go on to bigger and better things!

     a) Visit the Soup Faerie!

If you don’t know where the Soup Faerie is, head on over to the Neopia Central, hit the bazaar button and hit the marketplace. Down on the lower left-hand corner of the Marketplace, you’ll see a faerie standing there with a cauldron. For some strange reason, she doesn’t have her own sign up, but go ahead and click on the cauldron anyway! This very amazingly sweet Faerie has a giant cauldron that’s just filled with soup and she is more than happy to feed you and your hungry pets!

     Not enough? Try here:

     b) The Money Tree

The money tree is just like the Soup Faerie, except everyone can use it! Be sure to be quick, as a lot of people visit the tree! But here you can get food, toys, books… Anything you can think of! You can only grab 10 items here a day, but that’s 10 items you didn’t have before!

     Still hungry: No worries!

     c) The Omelette

Let’s take a quick jaunt to Tyrannia

Explore – Tyrannia – Plateau – Giant Omelette

This Lupe may not be able to spell correctly, but he has a giant omelette sitting there and he’s willing to give you a slice once a day! This may be a meal that gets old quickly, but it’s still three bites of food that you and your Neopet didn’t have before! So go ahead and pick one up anyway. Who can beat the amazingly low price of free?!

Maybe that just wasn’t enough either?! Never fear, my friend, there’s one other thing I can do to fill your bellies!

     d.) The Monthly Freebies!

Neopia helps us out in so many ways, that they give us out free things once a month! The link, if you don’t know, is www.neopets.com/freebies and this gives you 2,000 neopoints and each of your pets gets to pick a random food for themselves!

     Step 2:

Now that your Neopets and your own belly is full of yummy foods, the next thing to do is make sure that you don’t end up as hungry as you were before. To do that, you need some neopoints! Luckily for you, neopoints are super easy to earn! To earn some neopoints the easy way, simply go over to the game room! There are so many games to play and such a wide variety that it would take me hours to go through them all! To save me the time and you the headache of reading it all, why don’t I just give you some of my favourites? These games are super quick and give you neopoints the fastest!

     a) Kass Basher

You stand there and hit a stuffed animal with a stick and, depending on how far you hit it? You get neopoints for it! Quick, fast and simple!

     b.) Meerca Chase II

You’re playing a Meerca who runs around a little board and picks up some neggs. The negg type will depend on how many points you get, which depends on the neopoints you get! Fast and simple!

     c.) Turmac Roll

You play as a little Turmac that’s rolled up as a ball and you roll around a map collecting neggs… Basically the same as Meerca chase except you’re going in one straight line instead of going around an actual square board. Another fast and simple game!

     d.) Trudy’s Surprise

When you logged in, did you notice an icon on the top left of your screen? It’s where Neopets usually tells you if you have a neomail or other notification. When there is nothing there for it to tell you, then every single day it will pop up that you have a new daily! This daily is called Trudy’s Surprise and what you do is click on the link and it will bring you to a wheel! When you spin the wheel, you can win a prize! Most of the time this prize gives you neopoints, but occasionally it gives you items as well, depending on how often you’ve come over to spin the wheel.

Now, I can’t promise that you’ll get more than a few hundred to a thousand neopoints for playing these games, but at least it’ll put some in your pocket!

We have some neopoints in your pocket and your bellies are full. What else can I teach you so that you don’t go hungry? How about how to stock your shop?

     Step 3:

Stocking your shop can be surprisingly simple!

Remember those 10 items you picked up earlier from the money tree?

Do you have any leftover that you don’t want? Perhaps one or two items?

Maybe you have some leftover omelette from the Giant Omelette you visited!

Or maybe you have some leftover food from the freebies you got this month?

Either way, I’m guessing you might have a few unwanted items in your inventory.

Did you know that you can open up your own shop? It’s been a very, very long time since I’ve done so, but I’ve got my own shop here on Neopia! It’s very simple to get to your shop! Go to:

     Shops – Your shop

     And you’re there!

If you’ve never opened one, I suggest opening one up now! Take a few minutes to do what you need to do – I’m not exactly sure what the process is, but it only takes a few moments… You pick a name and a shopkeeper and maybe a cute saying.

     Done?

     Awesome!

Now, go back to your inventory and you should see all the items you currently have in your inventory – unless you got rid of them already or ate them all or something, but if you have something? Obviously, it will show up here. Now there should be a button that says “Quick Stock.” If you click that, it will go to a list of all your items in your inventory! Go ahead and choose what you want to put in your shop by clicking the circles under the “stock” category and then click submit!

Congrats! All of your unwanted items are now items stocked in your shop!

Don’t get too excited, there’s more to this!

     Click shops – Your shop

And your shop should come up and show your items with a category that says “Your Price.” If you’ve never done this before, the number beside it will say 0. Go ahead and delete that 0 and put in a price of what you’d like for each item! Be sure to give it a fair price or nobody will buy it! Once you’ve priced all your items, scroll down to the bottom of the page. If you’ve got a pin set up, you’ll have to put your pin in (Please do not EVER give your pin out, to me or anybody!) Just plug in the pin in the spot, if it’s set up for it, and then press update the shop. What this does is update the prices in your shop and now the items will show up to be sold!

The only other thing to do is to wait for someone to buy something!

In a few days you can come back to your shop and if something sells, you can get your Neopoints by checking out your shop till!

     Step 4:

Now that you’ve got everything set up, there’s one last thing I can do to help you!

Please go back to Neopia Central and click on the Neopian Bank!

It’s the second shop on the upper left-hand side!

The National Neopian Bank is an amazing place!

You can put your Neopoints here for safekeeping, provided you have some extra! Even if you only have a few, say 3 or 4 Neopoints to spare, go ahead and put them in the bank! This gives you a few things!

One, it stops the evil blue guy from popping up and stealing your neopoints! He can’t get to them in the bank!

Two, it allows the bank to start giving you interest! I’m not sure how much you need to put in before he starts giving you interest, but if you put in enough? Then you can stop in every single day and get free interest! That’s right, free neopoints placed right into your bank account! Just for walking in the door!

     Now, let's see…

I’ve helped you feed your pets, got neopoints in your pocket and taught you how to stock your shop. I’ve also helped you open up your own bank account with the friendly Skeith!

These steps are the same exact steps I’ve followed over the years to become a successful Neopian with plenty of Neopoints in my bank account!

If you do these every single day, then I promise you that you and your Neopets will never go hungry again!
