Prypha and Merfeud: Part Three

by avidwriter88

In her dark dungeon lair the Dark Uber Faerie stood, grinning. "OPEN!" she commanded. The large dungeon gates swung open and a shadowy cloaked figure emerged.

"The plan is working," he hissed.

"Fantastic! I was starting to doubt you, Icarden, but your loyalty to me has made this a success! Soon we can make our armies public," the Faerie said and laughed.

In the Land of the Lupes Prypha sat, thinking over the days news. An army was being assembled to fight the darkness of the Dark Faeries. It was just announced. Neopia became a total pandemonium, there were new riots every other minute and people were panicking so her shift was off.

The Uber Faeries and the Faerie Queen had urged every healthy Neopian to fight. The Island Mystic's prophecy was well known and Prypha was often teased for it. But she never believed she was one of the Ones, as they called the unknown twins. She didn't even know anything about her past.

Suddenly a bubble started floating around her. What was going on? The bubble grew, and grew until it nearly touched Prypha, then it burst. The rare and beautiful Faerie Queen was inside. Prypha knelt down. Her voice shook, "Your majesty, what do you want with me?"

The queen smiled. "I'm almost your mother, you know," she said.

Prypha said down on some straw. "What do you mean, your majesty?" she asked, meekly.

"Your real mother was Lerendia of the Koi and your father was king. You have a brother and you were separated almost at birth. It's very sad to think that I caused it. But it was for the future good of Neopia."

"What do you mean you caused it, your majesty?" Prypha said, almost angrily. She always wanted a family.

"I blessed you so you were part faerie, part Peophin. The future Faerie Queen must be able to live comfortably in water," the queen answered.

"I thought the Faerie Queen was a faerie blessed by all six Uber Faeries! What happened to me, and why?" Prypha asked.

"The Dark Uber Faerie refused. So I decided to make you part Peophin, part Air Faerie, and part Faerie Queen. That was the closest I could get. And now they will fight us. They boast a power stronger than all other faeries, including me, put together. I'm sure you know about the prophecy. It was also prophesied that I would be destroyed in this war. I needed someone strong, very strong, so I got every single faerie (including some Dark Faeries that were good) to bless you," the Faerie Queen said.

"Me? But I have no powers, your majesty, and I'm not very royal-looking at all!" she said.

"You're royal looking! You're as pretty and noble as any princess and you have hidden powers, within. You've just never tried. Try to shoot some ice," the queen insisted.

"All right, your majesty," Prypha said and held up her hand. She visualized cold, clear ice in her mind and concentrated. A beam of ice hit the floor. "Derla will not be pleased," Prypha mumbled.

"You're forgetting I can read minds. It's a faerie trait," the Faerie Queen chuckled. "Try it."

Prypha concentrated, and saw the Faerie Queen in her mind. She heard a voice, soft at first, but it gradually got louder. "She's so immature!" the voice said. "I am not!" Prypha said loudly.

The faerie queen chuckled. "You're stronger than I thought," she said.

Prypha thought about the prophecy. "Aren't you sad you're going to be destroyed?" she asked.

"Yes," the queen replied. "But we're all going to, someday. I've lived a very long and happy life so it doesn't bother me. "You have another question on your mind," she said softly.

"Yes, who is my brother?" Prypha asked.

"I don't know. You're much, much stronger than me. Search your mind and maybe you can find out. I should be going now. Good-bye!" the faerie said and disappeared in a puff of purple smoke.
