Daughter of a Star: Part One

"C'mon, guys, we're going to be late!" Jane, a yellow Shoyru, said to her siblings as she flapped her wings and flew across the area.

Her siblings were a red Aisha named Andrew and a red Elephante named Cali. They rushed after her, panting and sweating.

"Wait up, Jane!" Andrew called, running as fast as he could.

"Yeah! We can't fly, like you can!" Cali yelled, stopping to catch her breath for just a second.

Jane stopped in mid-air, "But, guys, the show starts in exactly five minutes!! We can't be late!"

The trio was rushing to the Tyrannian Concert Hall where the famous band 'Yes Boy Ice Cream' was playing that night. They already bought tickets, but had got caught up in something and had forgotten about the show.

Soon enough, the concert hall came into sight, where cheering fans roared as one.

      "Almost there!!" Jane exclaimed excitedly.

When the three made it to the concert hall, Jane was flying around in circles, screaming with joy. Andrew and Cali, however, were leaning against the wall, trying to catch their breath.

Andrew revealed a bottle of water and took a big gulp out of it, "Ugh! It's hot!"

He tossed it to Cali, but her reaction wasn't exactly the same. She caught the bottle with her trunk, squeezed it, and sprayed all of the water down her throat.

"Ah… refreshing," she said as she tossed the empty bottle into the nearest trash bin.

"Come on, you two lazy bums!! Let's get inside!" Jane exclaimed as she performed a perfect loop-de-loop in mid-air and zipped inside the building.

Andrew and Cali followed, limping every step of the way. Jane flew through the air, finding their seats in the front row of the concert hall. There were three empty seats, and Jane landed directly in the seat in the middle of the two. Shortly afterwards, Andrew and Cali showed up, with their hands to their ears.

"The fans are really loud!!" Cali shouted.

"What?!" Jane screamed back at her.

"Okay, people, let's settle down," said a suave Kyrii on the stage who held a microphone to his mouth.

"I SAID, "THE FANS ARE REALLY LOUD!!!"" Cali shouted as loud as she could, just as soon as all the Neopets in the concert hall stopped all the cheering and went dead silent.

Everyone stared at Cali, looking at her as if she were crazy. Cali laughed nervously as she took her seat.

"Alrighty then…" said the Kyrii, "…are you people ready for 'Yes Boy Ice Cream'?!"

The fans screamed and cheered at the top of their lungs, throwing their arms into the air, whooping, and whistling all the same.

"I can't hear you!" the Kyrii stated.

The fans repeated what they had done before, only ten times as loud. Jane, Cali, and Andrew laughed as they clapped and told each other how great this was going to be.

"That's much better," the Kyrii grinned, "and now, it's time for… 'Yes Boy Ice Cream'!"

And at that three young Shoyrus flew onto the stage. One was red, one was yellow, and one was blue. They were none other than 'Yes Boy Ice Cream'! The yellow Shoyru, apparently the leader, flew to the front of the stage while his partners, the red and blue Shoyrus, stayed behind him. Yellow faced the crowd while Red and Blue stood back-to-back to each other, facing opposite directions.

"Let's get this party started!" Yellow shouted as an upbeat techno theme started up.

The crowd cheered as Andrew, Cali, and Jane simply sat in the first row, clapping softly while smiling.

"That was awesome!" Jane and Cali shouted as they squealed and danced happily right outside of the Tyrannian Concert Hall.

"Eh… it was okay," Andrew said, picking at his teeth.

"What?!" Jane and Cali shrieked as they shot Andrew a cold glare.

"I'm a boy," Andrew explained, "you can't expect me to be stunned by some boy band. But their music's pretty good."

"Pretty good?!" Jane and Cali literally screamed at Andrew.

Andrew laughed nervously as he backed away very slowly.

Jane shook it off, "Well, we had better get home before Mum starts to fret."

***

"Oh, you're back!" said Amy, the mother of Jane, Cali, and Andrew.

She had just opened the front door to find the three repeatedly pressing the doorbell over and over and over.

"Come on in, guys." Amy said, smiling.

The three walked inside the house and removed the Yes Boy Ice Cream hats, T-shirts, and jackets they had received for free after the show.

Amy chuckled, "I can tell you guys are tired after all that walking."

"You have no idea…" Andrew said, limping towards his bedroom on the second floor of the Neohome.

Jane walked into her bedroom and flopped onto her bed. She reached under her pillow and removed a tiny photograph of her and Amy the day Amy adopted her from the pound.

"Why anyone would want to abandon me is beyond me," Jane said aloud.

And at that moment, Jane noticed something in the photo she had never noticed before. Three young Shoyrus stood in the background, behind and Amy. One was Yellow, the other was Blue, and the last was red. And what stood out above all was that the Yellow Shoyru had a Yes Boy Ice Cream hat placed atop his head.

Jane suddenly gasped, "Could it be… no, it couldn't be! Or could it?"

Jane reached for the Pocket Magnifying Glass on her bedside table. She held it above the picture, and discovered that the three Shoyrus standing in the background were none other than the famous band known as Yes Boy Ice Cream.

"Oh my gosh!" Jane shrieked, "Hmm… why would Yes Boy Ice Cream be at the pound? They've never had any kids… did they?"
