Quote of the Week
Kinae looked out the window. She couldn't remember the last time she saw the sky such an ominous green. Would she make it on time? Are they out there? Questions were spinning in her mind, but this time she felt different. Fear didn't grip her as jarringly as it once had, but then again, fear had become a constant in the days since Jaroo had taken over Mystery Island and created an enchantment surrounding the island barring any Islander from leaving and any outsider from entering...
How to get trophies on reset day
Whether you are an avid collector or a casual gamer, reset (first day of the month) is the best occasion to try for a new shiny trophy for your cabinet. While admiring someone else's user lookup you see that one trophy you want so bad that you unfortunately know you can't get. It scares you away from even trying for some other games, cause you are thinking that your effort will not take you anywhere and you'll waste a day for nothing. Be assured that there is a practical way to reach your goals and I'll give you tips on what to do to prepare yourself for reset day. |

| The Many Sacrifices of an Avatar Collector
The Many Sacrifices of an Avatar Collector
Avatar hunters: a moderately sized, mildly neurotic subset of the population of Neopia.
It can be a rough life. “But why?” a member of the uninitiated might ask, “Why would you spend real time, effort, and emotions on earning these useless collections of pixels?” A valid question indeed; the answer to which is not entirely clear. An avatar is a badge of honor; a trophy that we can proudly display to prove that we persevered, painstakingly practicing sometimes for months on end before achieving success. Just as there are different categories of secret avatars, there are different types of struggles that an avatar collector willingly (though not always without complaint) endures. |

"For Mystery Island and Mira" by chosha Kinae looked out the window. She couldn't remember the last time she saw the sky such an ominous green. Would she make it on time? Are they out there? Questions were spinning in her mind, but this time she felt different. Fear didn't grip her as jarringly as it once had, but then again, fear had become a constant in the days since Jaroo had taken over Mystery Island and created an enchantment surrounding the island barring any Islander from leaving and any outsider from entering. Wearily, Kinae looked over her shoulder at the bag lying on her bed. The black mass had a stitched rip along the side from the last time they tried to make the journey. No matter how much she tried, she still couldn't suppress the memory of what happened on the cliff that day. Her sister, Mira, in front of her, and Jaroo's Secret Guard closing in.
"No!," Kinae shouted. She buried her face in her hands. So much could go wrong this time, Kinae thought. "I'm not ready for this.," she said softly.
It wouldn't be long now before Trin was knocking on her door, signaling that it was time to leave. Kinae got up slowly and walked over to where the bag lay, closed tightly on her bed. She knew that the amulet was safe inside, it's low hum vibrating throughout her body.
The humming had always made Kinae feel uneasy, but ever since Jaroo had taken control of the island, the humming made her feel sick. |
"The Art of Brewing Tea" by miliane085 The night was getting darker.
Cheri, a white Kacheek, was home alone. Her sister had, as usual, went outside in search for some adventure or whatever. Xynthi was out of the door almost every night, but today she hadn’t been home at all. The pink Xweetok was a restless creature who had to see everything, experience everything, do everything. In truth, Cheri suspected, many nights she was simply bored and needed some exercise to get rid of excess energy. After all, it was taxing on her to sit still during the school hours. Xynthi had asked her to join her on more than one occasion, but sports and running had never really been Cheri’s thing and she usually declined the offer, almost without fail. Reading novels and writing her poems in the darkening twilight had always called to her more. Besides, wouldn’t it be fair if Xynthi would join her evening activities for a change? Even once?
At least the sisters shared a cup of tea every night, and talked about their day. Cheri hoped it was as important for Xynthi as it was for her.
It was 7.45 PM. Cheri finished cleaning the kitchen. The counters were spotless, all the dishes were done, and she sighed contently. It was time for her nightly ritual. A small smile crept on her face, and she filled her kettle that was waiting on the stove. She reached to the cupboards and took an airtight white box that had delicately painted blue flowers on it. |
"A World Of Grandiose Creature:Part Four" by luuuvmebabe I, Randal, one of the greatest Kougra explorers in all the world, am back with you to present more of my findings! After some scary experiences with Coconut People, Ixi Raiders, and an overgrown Snowickle, and a relatively peaceful encounter with the Turmaculus, I'm back to jump into the past for a bit before diving into the present.
The Lost Desert has a rich history that goes back incredibly far, to the time just after the smog cleared off of Neopia and Dr. Sloth was scared off. It is a desolate landscape filled with sand and dunes, with a long river passing through to help sustain life to its residents. It is speckled with different structures built over time, some modern like the city of Qasala, while some ancient structures from seemingly before time still exist.
I wouldn't be a great researcher if I only studied what was still around! I wanted to dive deep into the past, and explore an extinct type of Petpet. While there is a modern form of these brilliant builders, they once ran their own kingdom how Neopets do today. It makes me wonder if we are severely underestimating the experience and abilities of petpets...Gebs:
We know a lot about the history of the Lost Desert because the ancient civilizations transcribed much of what they did, and great linguists like Dr. Zardulu have been able to translate the wall carvings into our modern language. |
