Mystery Island: A tourist’s guide

     Summer vacation is fast approaching, and that means one thing: beach holiday! As a regular Neopian jetsetter, I have put together a guide offering insider knowledge of one of the greatest Neopian holiday resorts: Mystery Island.

     Mystery Island is tucked away on the south coast of Neopia. Its sparkling ocean and golden sand bask under the glow of the sun, making it the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of Neopian life. As well as its glorious beaches, Mystery Island has lots to offer for sightseeing Neopians! Follow my guide below to plan your ultimate beach getaway!

     Techo Mountain

     Balance out your beach days by experiencing some Island culture and visiting Techo Mountain. If you are wanting to gather a glimpse into the island’s spiritual side, or brush up on your training magic, this is a must-see!

     The mountain sits at the heart of the island, surrounded by lush jungle, and it is the home of the legendary Techo Master. Perfect for the more adventurous Neopians among us, you can trek through the jungle landscape (watch out for falling coconuts!) before meeting the training guru himself. Once at the top, you will be blown away by the breathtaking views.

     Endless golden sands

     This island is renowned for having the most beautiful coastline. Offering miles of soft, gilded sand that stretches across the island and is warmed by the tropical sun. It is the perfect destination for those long, leisurely strolls or just laying out and topping up those tans.

     Keep your eyes peeled for mysterious treasures washing up on the shore! You may come across a Purple Twirly Shell or Purple Spiral Shell, perfect for your collection!

     Sparkling Sea

     The waters surrounding the island are brilliantly blue, and they glisten and warm from the rays of the sun. This is the perfect, tranquil spot for paddling, swimming and floating.

     Be sure to bring your mask, snorkel and flippers with you (unless, of course, you already have them!), as you won’t want to miss diving beneath the waves. You might even spy the Lesser Spotted Fish! However, watch out for those Island attack fish!

     The sunbathing dream

     Make sure you pack your sun factor 50, as it’s about to get hot!

     If your perfect vacation means doing nothing but relaxing, then Mystery Island delivers the ideal location.

     The beach is lined with palm trees, which offer just the right amount of shade for those of us who prefer not to be in direct sun. You can lay out your Seashell Print Beach Towel and get lost in a good book, such as Haunted Locations of Mystery Island, whilst sipping on a Pineapple Coconut Slushie.

     Exotic treats galore

     Only a few hundred yards from the beach, you will find the Tropical Food Store. All produce is locally grown and sourced, and lovingly hand-picked before being brought to the store.

     I highly recommend Squirming Salad. Once you can get past the wiggling, you will be blown away by the flavors tickling your taste buds! Sprinkled with chopped Green Octopeppers to really finish off the dish!

     Pair this with a Flatfruit Shake, full of island goodness! Created with blended Flatfruit and cream, it’s the perfect, exotic refreshment.

     Finish off with a slice of Honeyplume Pie and get lost in the tropical flavors of the local Honeyplume.

     Beachside Shopping

     What beach vacation is complete without some retail therapy?! Have a wander along to Tiki Tack. If you’re looking for souvenirs to remember your trip or something quirky to bring home for your friend, this shop offers everything you need!

     Some of my personal favourites include:

     • Souvenir Magnet – a lovely piece of memorabilia from your holiday. Stick it on your fridge and be immediately transported to the beach.

     • Seashell Bracelet – the shells have been carefully selected from the island’s beach, allowing you to take a little bit of the island home with you!

     • Coconut Shell Jug – bring a bit of Island culture home and use this handy jug to hold your favorite Island drinks!

     A tour in style!

     Take a Tiki Tour and explore the island in style. You will stop off at the Island Mystic to receive some words of wisdom, closely followed by trying out your luck at Tombola! There are some great prizes to be won, including Mashed Potatoes and Mud, or even a Mud n Mayo Dip! Mmmm!

     Next stop is the Island Market! You can spend some leisurely time sampling some of the local delicacies and taking your favorite finds over to Jhuidah at the Cooking Pot to see what she can cook up for you!

     You will finish off your tour by sitting on the beach and soaking in the sunset. Get lost in the transformation from warm orange to blended purple and pinks, a perfect opportunity for reflection and relaxation. Watch the Screals dance along the shoreline, soaking in the last rays of sun, if you're feeling brave you could even join them for an evening swim!

          There’s something for everyone to enjoy in Mystery Island, and it’s a true Neopian escape that stays with you long after you’ve dusted the last grains of sand from your paws.

     If you’re brushing up on your training with the Techo Master, browsing the Trading Post for that perfect deal or just lazing on the acres of beach with a Blue Cocofizz in hand, the island offers the ideal balance between adventure and tranquility. It truly is a magical place; a secret escape providing a well needed break from the busy hustle and bustle of Neopian life.
