The Sea and the Darkest Faerie by cookybananas324

1. The SleeperHer city is a neighbor to the sea She often walks the foam-sprayed rocky shore When Council duties do not call, she’s free To wander down the beach of Altador She is not of the water, but she knows The ocean has a darkness at its heart Like her, the water hides more than it shows Like her, the sea is only known in part One wind-swept day, she swears a bitter oath: Just like the waves, her strength won’t be contained She won’t let others’ scruples hinder growth She’ll let her power flow forth unrestrained She’ll make the city bow beneath her curse The city, then the world, will soon be hers
2. The Darkest Faerie A thousand years of darkness in the deep A thousand years of helpless, raging stone A thousand years of nightmare-haunted sleep A thousand years of waiting, all alone The ocean is no sister, nor a friend But prison cruel, and worse: nearly her death As stone gave way to flesh, she feared her end Would come before she managed one more breath She reached the surface, clawed her way to land Collapsed onto the beach, her tale not done So welcome was the shining golden sand She could forgive how it reflected sun The world was vast, and waiting for her yet Her foes, she swears, will drown in their regret
3. Void Within the dark-past-dark, the faerie waits For one more chance to claim her victory Stone-cold and stubborn, nurturing old hates As unrelenting as the hungry sea
