Ten Unique Ornaments to Hang on Your Christmas Tree

by chirigami

--------

Guys! It’s here again! Christmas! Are you excited? I know I am. There is nothing more comforting than pulling on your fluffy socks, donning your most wacky Christmas sweater, and singing Neopian Christmas carols as snow falls outside.

“Oh Christmas, oh Christmas, Neopia-aaaa welcomes youuu.”

What? I never claimed that I could sing.

But you know, even with all these amazing things, having a Christmas tree is still my favourite part of the holidays. And decorating my Christmas tree is my favourite activity. I put a lot of time and thought into my Christmas tree decorations, so this year I will pass on some of my tried and true favourites to you.

I’m sure you all already have your box of well-used Christmas ornaments, so I’m not going to bore you with typical suggestions like hanging a Christmas Bruce ornament or tying a red bow made out of silk. No, no, this list will detail those unique items that you may not have thought of hanging on your tree. If you like any of these, just grab a piece of twine, tie it around the object, and hang it on up your tree. It’s that easy!

    Now! Let’s get started!

    1. Everlasting Mug of Borovan.

What! It’s cold out, isn’t it? I know that when it starts to snow all I want is a nice steaming mug of Borovan. The best thing about this mug is that it is everlasting. That’s right! No matter how much you drink out of this mug, you won’t run out. Plus, if it’s hanging on your tree you will never forget where it is. Now that’s what I call Christmas efficiency!

    2. Decorated Prison Cell Bench

Okay I know what you might be thinking: why would I want to hang a decorated prison cell bench on my tree? Let me give you two good reasons. First, the bench has lights on it already. That means that if you hang it up on your tree, you will have even more lights! Your tree will so lit up it will be… well really lit up. And that’s great. Second, and most importantly, how many times have you run into a seating problem over Christmas? By that I mean one guest shows up that never RSVP-ed and you are stuck scrambling for an extra chair. Well, problem solved! With this bench, you have a conveniently located extra seat right there on your tree. How easy!

    3. Enchanted Popcorn

I’ve mentioned snow a couple of times now, haven’t I? That’s very rude of me, I know that some places in Neopia don’t get those delightful droplets of frozen water that gracefully fall and cover the ground. Maraqua, for example, would probably be in a lot of trouble if it got so cold that the water started freezing… Anyhow! For those of you that are deprived of snow over the holiday season, here is an alternative! Enchanted Popcorn is so light that it can actually float. Plus it’s white! So I bet if you hang a string of it up on your tree, you can mimic that ‘snow’ feel.

    4. Brightly Wrapped Presents

Have you ever forgotten to give out one of your presents? I know I have. I had a lot of Borovan that morning that made me a bit jittery and forgetful… and it was so embarrassing! If you are worried about being like me and forgetting to give out one of your brightly wrapped presents, why don’t you hang them on the Christmas tree? Sure, it may taunt your household with thoughts of the presents that they will be getting, but it also means that you will never forget where they are or how many there are when the time comes to give them out. Whew! Crisis averted!

    5. That Slice of Cake You Always Wanted

I don’t know about you, but one of the best things about Christmas is all the Christmas food. And even though I love the Christmas ham and delicious, beautiful mashed potatoes, desert is also such a pleasure. The only problem with desert is that it all gets eaten so quickly. And when I wake up in the morning, sometimes all I want with my hot cup of Borovan is a delicious piece of cake to start my morning. Well no fear! Because now the cake that you always wanted in right in front of you whenever you should have a craving. That’s the beauty of Christmas after all - it’s a free pass to indulge in whatever way makes you the most happy. So go ahead, have your cake and eat it too.

    6. A Sprig of Leaf

Now why oh why would I recommend having a sprig of leaf on your tree? Well, as it’s description states, it is kind of like the icing on top of the cake except there is no icing or cake, and this leaf is chock full of health. The health is especially necessary because, remember, the holiday season can be more of a marathon than a sprint, and keeping your body in tip top shape will help make it as fun as possible.

    7. Christmas Tree Necklace

Clearly I love Christmas trees. Why else would I write an entire article on objects that can amplify the beauty and usefulness of your tree? So why only have one tree in your house! Why wouldn’t you want to hang a tree on your tree? You get two amazing trees for the price of one. Plus, this way your tree will bring you two times the amount of joy. Science!

    8. White Weewoo

It’s been a tradition in my house to hang a fake White Weewoo on the tree every year. But this year we decided to go one step further and hang a real White Weewoo on the tree. It has been such an improvement. First, it can sing! This means that it is fantastic musical accompaniment when we are singing our Christmas Carols. Second, it is the most effective alarm clock. Every morning when the Weewoo gets hungry, it sings out at the top of its lungs. What a fantastic way to get the household to jump out of bed and appreciate every moment of the holiday! Be careful with your Enchanted Popcorn though; the popcorn strings closest to the Weewoo seem to be keep disappearing…

    9. Dancing Neocola Can

It shakes and it twists! It’s as good at dancing as we are! This item is one of the most useful on this list - let me explain why. Have you ever been in a situation where your favourite song comes on, and no one at your Christmas party wants to dance? Maybe it’s because they’re shy, maybe it’s because they don’t like dancing, but either way you find yourself as the only booty shaker up on the dance floor. It can be fun, but it can also be awkward. If you hang a Dancing Neocola Can on your tree, that won’t happen anymore! Gone will be the days where you leap up and dance alone because you will have an always enthusiastic dancing partner right there on your tree.

    10. Meepit Carols.

La la la la la la *bites your face*.

This one is last, but definitely not least. Are you like me? Do you get bored of singing O Neopian Tree ad nauseum for the entirety of the Christmas season? Well this is why I like to keep this book on my tree. This book references little known Meepit Carols to help diversify your carol selection. And by keeping it on your tree, you will remember that it is an alternative to the traditional carols that you always sing. Just remember not to bite people’s faces too hard when you sing the most popular song.

Well that’s it! I hope that this list has give you an idea of kinds of unique, helpful, relevant items that you can stick up on your Christmas tree. I have already hung all ten on mine and boy, let me tell you, I have no regrets.

Merry Christmas Neopia! I wish you all a beautiful, jolly, and celebratory holiday season.
