The Beautiful Game

by merionelle

--------

It's summer time in Altador and that can only mean one thing, Once again it's time to see what drama the Altador Cup will bring. Teams from across Neopia gather to play in this epic game, To see which will get the glory and win fortune and fame.

The game of Yooyuball has rules that are simple and well known, Throw the Yooyu into your opponent's goal and don't ket them throw it in your own. But in practice what seems simple can be anything but, As there are many factors that can hinder you somewhat.

The standard Yooyu may be deceptively easy to throw, As long as your aim is true it will fly where you want it to go. But the Mutant Yooyu's wicked path can send players in a spin, Somehow you can never tell if your shot will go in.

The Fire Yooyu scorches past in a flash of flame, Speeding through the field and heating up the game. The Snow Yooyu's slow flight necessitates a change of strategy, Decreasing the pace makes good defence a necessity.

The Clockwork Yooyu's ticking marks a dangerous threat, Before it blows shoot it quickly into the back of the net! The Faerie Yooyu flutters in an elegant curving arc, But the Darigan Yooyu's tricky manouevres somehow always leave it wide of the mark.

So come and join in the celebrations, and cheer on your team, Only one can be the winner and be champion supreme. Don't forget, however, about rule number one, No matter the final result make sure that you have fun!
