Neopian Dads I Would Have a Backyard BBQ With

     There is just something special about gathering around a grill during the warm weather! The smell of burgers and hot dogs cooking, the sound of laughter, the feeling of everyone relaxing and spending time together. Backyard BBQs are where memories are made, and we definitely need dads there! Some would bring wisdom, some would bring good stories, and some would probably accidentally set the grill on fire. So, who is invited to the cookout?

          King Coltzan III (Father of Princess Amira)

     One of the most respected rulers in Neopian history, King Coltzan III ruled over the Lost Desert before his tragic passing. Even after death, his spirit continues to watch over the desert through Coltzan’s Shrine. He was known for being wise, fair, and deeply caring toward his kingdom and family, especially Princess Amira.

          Why I’d have a backyard BBQ with him: King Coltzan III feels like the type of dad who takes grilling VERY seriously. He probably wears one of those “King of the Grill” aprons and makes the best burgers in all of Neopia. You just know he stands proudly beside the grill with tongs in hand while giving wise fatherly advice. King Coltzan is from the desert so I’m sure the summers are scorching hot and he has plenty of experience cooking outside! And honestly? Food probably tastes better when cooked by royalty. He also seems like the type of dad who makes sure everyone eats before himself. We love that!

          Emperor Yun (Father of Princess Lunara)

     Emperor Yun is the ruler of Shenkuu and father of Princess Lunara. Calm, intelligent, and honorable, he carries himself with elegance and wisdom. Shenkuu itself is known for its beautiful architecture, peaceful atmosphere, and cultural traditions, and Emperor Yun reflects all of those qualities.

          Why I’d have a backyard BBQ with him: This would not be an ordinary BBQ. Emperor Yun’s cookout would be next-level classy. Beautiful lanterns hanging outside, relaxing Shenkuu music playing softly in the background, perfectly prepared food arranged with artistic precision. It won’t be your typical burgers and hot dogs, the BBQ will have dumplings, sushi, noodles, and fried fish! Emperor Yun probably has a whole staff of exquisite chefs who marinates everything overnight with secret Shenkuu spices and somehow turns grilled vegetables into a life changing delicacy. I feel like attending one of his barbeques would heal my soul.

          Rohana’s Father (Neoquest II)

     While we do not see a huge amount of him in Neoquest II, Rohane’s father is part of the humble farming family with the infamous Rohane’s Mother living in Trestin. Rohane comes from a simple upbringing before setting off on his massive adventure across Neopia. His parents clearly helped shape him into the brave and kind hero he becomes throughout the game.

          Why I’d have a backyard BBQ with him: Rohane’s father gives off peak backyard dad vibes. He definitely owns a rusty grill that somehow still works perfectly after years of use. He probably tells long stories while cooking and insists that burgers taste better cooked outside. You know he will confidently claim he knows exactly what he’s doing right before causing a giant burst of smoke from the grill. But these types of BBQs are always the best! Simple food, warm atmosphere, lots of laughter and family memories. And look at Rohane, the legendary hero! If spent his childhood eating his father’s cooking before saving the world, those must have been some heroic burgers.

          Edmund (Father of Bruno, Reginald, and Sophie)

     Edmund is the father of Bruno, Reginald, and Sophie from the Tale of Woe storyline. Wanting to save his struggling family business and provide a better life for his family, he turned to Mr. Krawley’s mysterious potion for help. Unfortunately, that decision led to a curse across Neovia. Fortunately, the family was able to find a cure and save everyone.

          Why I’d have a backyard BBQ with him: Honestly, Edmund deserves a relaxing BBQ more than almost anyone in Neopia. The whole family has been through some intense hardships! Edmund himself literally turned into a monster! I feel like he would just appreciate sitting outside peacefully with good food and loved ones nearby. He also feels like the kind of dad who quietly handles everything behind the scenes during the cookout. Need more drinks? Edmund already brought them. Forgot the plates? Edmund has extras. Grill running out of charcoal? Already solved. Dads like that hold the entire BBQ together without anybody noticing, but even hidden deeds play an important role.

          Father Time

     Father Time appears during the Month of Celebrating to ring in the New Year. With his flowing beard and wise presence, he represents reflection, memories, and the passage of time itself. He has huge grandfather energy and can even control time and space!

          Why I’d have a backyard BBQ with him: Father Time feels like the type of dad/grandfather who spends the entire BBQ telling stories that somehow get more interesting every single minute. Considering he has basically witnessed generations of Neopian history, his stories are probably incredible. He definitely sits beside the grill in a lawn chair while everyone gathers around listening to him talk about the good old days. He also seems like the kind of person who reminds everyone to appreciate the moment while it’s happening. Honestly, I feel like his BBQs would become the type of memories you look back on years later with a smile and finally realizing the important lessons that were taught. Also, let’s be real, who would be the best at keeping cooking times better than Father Time himself?

          King Altador

     The legendary founder and ruler of Altador, King Altador is one of the most admired leaders in Neopian history. Brave, noble, and inspiring, he helped unite heroes and establish one of the greatest cities in Neopia.

          Why I’d have a backyard BBQ with him: King Altador feels like the motivational dad at the cookout. The type of guy who gives inspiring speeches while casually holding a burger plate. He has a hearty laugh and emphasizes teamwork and perseverance. Also, you know the Altador Cup or his Hero Days would somehow get brought up within five minutes. King Altador seems like the type to organize backyard games immediately after eating. Nobody is allowed to sit around too long at King Altador’s BBQ. You are participating in activities whether you planned to or not!

          Dr. Sloth

     Yes, I know what you’re thinking. Why is Dr. Sloth invited to the BBQ? Look, we know every cookout has that one questionable guest. Dr. Sloth is one of the most infamous villains in all of Neopia. Evil mastermind, space tyrant, creator of chaos. But technically, he is also a father figure to many of his followers and minions! He must be doing something right as a leader.

          Why I’d have a backyard BBQ with him: Mostly for entertainment purposes. He will bring chaos, and what’s a BBQ without a little mishap here and there? He might accidentally set the grill on fire or purposely leave a ketchup bottle on the floor. Dr. Sloth is also probably very competitive and cannot stand losing at games, so that will be tons of fun! A little competition won’t hurt anyone, right? And let’s be honest, if Dr. Sloth asks for an invite to the BBQ, are you really going to say no?

     Father figures can come in many different forms across Neopia. Kings, adventurers, protectors, mentors, rulers, caretakers, and even evil space villains. Some lead entire kingdoms while others simply support their families quietly from the background. But all of them leave an impact on the people around them in their own way. They are admired and appreciated. Backyard BBQs are about more than just food. They are about laughter, stories, family, community, and making memories together. Sometimes the best moments are the simple ones, just standing around the grill, relaxing outside during warm weather, and spending time with people you love.
