The creature huffed, his tiny nostrils smoking. Most Gallions were dangerous or kept as trophies by rich collectors in Meridell. But this one, well this one just looked... lost.

8 Ways to Celebrate a Neopian Pride Month

It’s the Month of Relaxing, and all over Neopia, colourful banners are going up, rainbow streamers are fluttering through the streets of Neopia Central, and Pets are celebrating a month of love, identity, and self-expression. It’s Neopian Pride Month! This special time of year is a chance for Neopians to honour what makes us unique, to uplift our communities, and to sprinkle a little extra colour, kindness, and joy into the world. As someone who is part of Neopia’s queer community, I know how important it can be to make this month special. Whether you're a longtime Neopian or a fresh-faced newbie, here are eight heartfelt, silly, and sparkly ways to show your pride this month. 1. Take a Dip in the Rainbow Pool Since Neopia’s beginnings, the Rainbow Pool has been *the* place for magic, transformation, and joy. What better way is there to show your pride than with a splash of colour? Head to the Rainbow Pool and transform your Neopet with a magical paint brush. Choose from Rainbow, Disco, Swampgas, or whatever colour will best express your Pets true self! Don’t have a Paint Brush? No problem! Window shopping at the Rainbow Pool and dreaming up future looks with your pet can be just as fun. Maybe even set a goal together to save up for that elusive Royal or Faerie makeover. Pride is about possibility, after all.

What You Need for a Perfect Beach Day

Summer is here! The sun is shining, and the temperature is rising. You know what that means - it's time to go to the beach! However, in order to maximize your fun while playing in the sand and water, you need to make sure you have all the essentials. What are those exactly? That's what I'm here for! I've created a list of all the things you'll need to have the perfect beach day. Let’s dive in and get to it! You're going to need quite a few items for maximum fun, so plan to bring a tote. The Mynci Summer Beach Tote is perfect, as it comes equipped with the right pockets for your things. Everything fits in its place, and it's made with holes in the bottom of the bag to allow sand and water to run out! There's nothing worse than having last beach day's sand on your things when you show up for a new day of fun in the sun! The first item out of your tote should be your sunscreen. Getting sunburnt is the perfect way to ruin a beach trip. Had an awesome time but came home as red as a Christmas Wocky? No thank you! Illusens Sunscreen is sure to protect your skin, keeping it glowy and the color it's supposed to be, just like Illusen. She's beautiful - you can stay beautiful too! The sun is bright and powerful at the beach, so you need to protect those eyes. While there are many options for stylish sunglasses these days, it's always good to bust...

A Study on S'mores: A Classic Treat

Hello there friends! It's me Gonzo, and welcome back to another article! Summer is here, and nothing says summer like a delicious roasted s'more! This longtime tradition can be done anytime of year, but it's most popular during summer nights around a campfire or bonfire. In case any Pet out there is unaware, here's how it usually goes. First, you get a heat source for cooking, traditionally a big fire, but you can also make s'mores in your Neohome using an oven or microwave. Then take a marshmallow of your choice and melt it; make it just a little gooey or you can make it as crisp as you like! Lastly, grab your fillings and place them, along with the hot marshmallow, in between two pieces of graham cracker. Smush them together and viola! You've got yourself a delicious s'more! Ingredients in s'mores can vary a lot. I’m only going over a few in this article but for more information about s'more recipes and making s'mores I highly recommend the book The Art of Making the Perfect Smore Book! It’s a great summer read, but as a warning; you will definitely be hungry afterwards! My list here will go over a general array of s'mores, starting from the more unusual and strange ones and then going on to some delicious variations. Without further ado let's look at some s'mores!

"HCourier Crisis" by metakitsune
Arnie was a well-intentioned Blumaroo with a heart as big as his fist. He wanted people to like him. He wanted the other residents of Altador to welcome him the way he felt others were welcome. There was one problem with this though. Arnie was Grey. Not in the sad, mopey kind of way. Even though there was no denying he looked the part. Arnie had been painted Grey for as long as he could remember and normally there wouldn’t be any problem with this. Lately, however, people had been giving him weird looks. He could feel that the community that used to show him the same love he gave them now regarded him with a sense of animosity. Arnie knew it was all thanks to that Grey Curse that had spread across Neopia. Grey was once a celebrated colour just like any other but now it felt tainted. Arnie had spent quite some time hiding away in his home. His only contact with the outside world was his daily venture to the couriers to see his good friend Benny. However, ever since the cancellation of this year’s Altador Cup, Arnie was determined to make a change. He wanted, no, needed to show the people he loved just how valuable Grey Pets continued to be. Arnie started his day with his usual walk to the couriers office. Technically the office was down the street from his house but Grey Pets tended to move along a little slower than usual. As Arnie opened his front door the sunlight greeted his sunken eyes. It was a beautiful day and although outwardly he wasn’t quite capable of showing it he felt grateful to be in the warm breeze.

"Those Aren't Pickles..." by legendaryspoon
Much mystery surrounds itself around the gloomy region of Neopia called The Haunted Woods. You can talk to many strange creatures there, such as The Brain Tree and The Esophagor. When you are not talking to these oddballs, you can buy your Neopet a Petpet with a face only its mother could love (personally, I find the Mutant Gangee to be rather unsettling when it fixes all three of its red eyes onto me). You may decide to venture further in The Haunted Woods where your eyes will feast upon many more twisted sights. When you step past the tall iron-cladded gate that allows you to enter The Deserted Fairground, you will see several uncanny games and shops available for your choosing. You may decide to subject yourself to draining your pockets after engaging in sketchy entertainment only to turn up with meager rewards. Only, there won’t be any manager you will be speaking with to get your refund. Such is the way of business in this part of Neopia. If you end up frustrated with your time at The Haunted Woods after such trickery, you may decide to spend your hard earned neopoints at places with more merit. That is where you may turn to the foreboding cave with holes that resemble a face, a giant ax wedged in its formation (who put it there?), stalactites and stalagmites that resemble teeth, and a fiery orange glow coming from inside. If you dare step inside, you will be met with a Ghost Scorchio inside of The Haunted Weaponry store. You may be lucky (or unlucky) and notice that there is a selection of items in stock on the shelves...

"Walls of Glass" by darkpixie28
Glorini’s three-hundredth birthday gala was being held at Faerie Castle and Seshatia had prepared herself accordingly. It was easy to lose track of one’s exact age with faerie longevity, but three centuries was a significant milestone and a perfect excuse for a grand party. For the occasion, Seshatia had found a formal dress with the same purple of her glasses and silver flats matching its chain. The hairstick keeping her updo in place was a handmade gift from a dear friend, Glorini herself. It was a piece of her artisan metalcraft, ornamented with a flower in the shape of the pink blooms that grew near the castle. A gift box with a fireproof sketchbook and a signed copy of Moltara Metallurgy was secured in her bookbag. Seshatia appeared in a puff of smoke at a little bakery she frequented. The owner, a faerie Scorchio, specialized in macarons that came with flavors uncommon in Faerie pastry and intricate renderings of Petpets. She rolled out into the summer night with a dozen Harris-topped ones for Glorini and joyous anticipation for the gala. The trip to the castle would be longer, as she only had the strength to travel instantly while in her library. A translucent violet path appeared before her thanks to the Bridges of Brightvale enchantment she had placed on her chair. The sky was clear and bright despite the hour. The stars shone unobscured and the moon was waxing and nearly full. As she rolled onwards, Seshatia thought of days spent reading together on a blanket in the shade of a tree, lively conversations held over a pot of hot coffee, and riddles...

The Tribulations of Major Crandall
The bespectacled Darigan Aisha clad in the purple and black livery of Lord Kass’ army scowled at the green Moehog in a worn brown robe before him. He crumpled a scroll bearing the seal of Darigan Citadel’s new ruler in his hand before slamming his fist against the wall, narrowly missing an ancient, cracked mirror.
