Quote of the Week

With a little beckoning gesture, she used her magic to pull the Meowclops closer. The Meowclops seemed oddly tolerant of being carried around with magic; he simply stared silently at Ilere as she levitated him right up next to her and examined the tag on his collar.

Perfect Pairings: A Neo-Barista's Guide

Hi! Do you consider yourself to be a creative person? If so, there are several creative contests in Neopia for you to enter. They have undergone some changes recently, so I have decided to create a guide for 2026. (My poetry guide from Issue 904 is quite outdated by now!) This guide will cover the Neopian Times (including poetry), the Art Gallery, and the Storytelling Contest, as those are the contests which I have experience with entering. ---Neopian Times (including Poetry)--- The Neopian Times is Neopia’s newspaper, and it runs once every other week. It includes articles, short stories, comics, and now poetry, all written by users. Poetry used to have its own contest, but recently, poetry was combined into the Times. You can also enter a series, but I have never done that. Minimum and maximum word counts for each category of submission are found on the submission page. File sizing and format requirements for comics are found there as well: Submit your entry here! So, what should your piece be about? Sometimes, there are special editions of the Neopian Times, such as the winter holiday edition, Valentine’s Day, and Illusen Day. There is also a special user collab occasionally, where the theme is voted upon and decided by users. These special editions are announced on the “Neopian Writers” board. Also, every 25th edition of the Neopian Times is a commemorative

Neopian Dads I Would Have a Backyard BBQ With

To all the dads, grandpas, father figures, stepdads, pet dads, uncles, Dad-to-Be’s, and Neopet dads, we thank you for everything you do. Whether it’s protecting kingdoms, teaching life lessons, fixing problems, or just standing by through difficult times, fathers come in many different forms. Some are sweet, some are stern, but all are patient and loving. Here’s a tribute to some of the most iconic dads (and dad-like legends) in Neopia! There is just something special about gathering around a grill during the warm weather! The smell of burgers and hot dogs cooking, the sound of laughter, the feeling of everyone relaxing and spending time together. Backyard BBQs are where memories are made, and we definitely need dads there! Some would bring wisdom, some would bring good stories, and some would probably accidentally set the grill on fire. So, who is invited to the cookout? King Coltzan III (Father of Princess Amira) One of the most respected rulers in Neopian history, King Coltzan III ruled over the Lost Desert before his tragic passing. Even after death, his spirit continues to watch over the desert through Coltzan’s Shrine. He was known for being wise, fair, and deeply caring toward his kingdom and family, especially Princess Amira.

"Jhudora's Methods" by stella_123_5
It was something of a cliche for a dark faerie to be involved in an exorcism, and yet here Jhudora was, heading towards one. (One might argue that there was nothing all that surprising about this— Jhudora’s dark clouds of magic and occasional bouts of evil cackling were not uncommon choices for dark faeries. But if you could still understand her after she turned you into a Mortog, she would inform you that she was the reason the younger faeries made those choices. You only copied the best.) How had she ended up here? As with most distasteful things in her life, it had to do with Illusen. As Jhudora continued past the entrance of Faerie City, pointedly ignoring the gasps and screams she left in her wake, she remembered Illusen’s scheme with irritation. Fool she was, of course the earth faerie hadn't invited her to the Glade to show her an amazing new spell. “Did I say spell? I meant recipe.” Jhudora was loath to admit it, but the pudding really had been very good. Which was why she was doing this now.

"The Last Kadoatie In The Row" by rissa714
Ryachelle was feeling blue. And not just because she was a Grey Gnorbu and always looked blue (or well, grey), but she was definitely feeling down today. It was her brother’s birthday, and Ryachelle’s owner had just gifted him with a beautiful Schnelly painted water to match his look. That, combined with the carrot-themed slippers and robe that her other siblings had given him (Ryachelle had only given him a token birthday card that she had signed herself), had left Ryachelle feeling mopey. She knew she was supposed to be celebrating her brother on his special day, but just seeing Baryan with his new Schnelly made her feel lower than ever. After a few hours of watching Baryan playing with his new Petpet (which he had named Fizzy) and flouncing around in his robe and slippers, Ryachelle managed to slip out on her own onto the streets of Neopia. She liked to walk when she wasn’t feeling her best and brightest, and she soon found herself passing the usual shops and businesses. The food shop and the book shop were two places...

"A Game to Remember" by coffee__bean
It was pitch dark out. Not a sound could be heard, except for the rushed thumping coming from a Nightsteed. King Jazan pulled the reins on his beloved companion lightly. The two of them proceeded onward into the desert's sandy dunes. He hoped to reach his destination before sunrise; more than anything, he didn’t want to be spotted. *** A week ago, while Jazan was on an outing with Nabile. He stopped by the marketplace to grab two bottles of water and a small meal for the Queen and him. Upon opening the tethered canvas of the tent, he first lay eyes on Tehuti. She resembled a younger Amira in a way which haunted him. “I wasn’t expecting to see a King.” Tehuti giggled, batting her eyelashes. King Jazan cleared his throat and raised his eyebrows quizzically. He felt dumb founded gazing upon Tehuti. The fresh scent of Chamomile and Peppermint ensnared his nostrils. “It smells otherworldly in here,” Jazan remarked, looking around the caravan. Queen Nabile was only a few feet away, tending to their...
