5 Items in Celebration of the 105(0)th NT Issue by lynnrules118108
--------
As the month of Sleeping slowly passes us by and we reach the cusp of the month of Awakening, another special edition of the Neopian Times is here for all of Neopia to celebrate! While many will celebrate this issue through parties dedicated to White Weewoos or by reading articles about the history of the Neopian Times, this article serves to celebrate the 1050th issue in its own unique way: through Neopian items centered around the number '105'. Sit back, kick up your feet, grab yourself a cup of borovan, and enjoy this silly collection of themed items. 1. 105 Castle Secrets Stamp This stamp is a dream for multiple types of collectors. For those working towards the Battle for Meridell stamp album page, this stamp will help you complete your goals. But importantly, this stamp is also a gateway for all Neopians interested in castles, history, and hidden gems! From the iconic grey stone of Meridell Castle presided over by King Skarl, to the pale Brightvalian stone of King Hagan's Brightvale Castle, to the floating gothic behemoth of Lord Darigan's Castle, there is no doubt that each of these iconic castles must have countless (at least 105!) secrets known previously by only a select few. Secret passages found by pulling the correct torch? Hidden rooms behind bookcases? Perhaps even secret riches tucked away? All are possible in these grandiose castles. And that's just for the main castles! The plains of Meridell and Brightvale are littered with smaller, sturdy castles with their own host of secrets to discover. Why not pick up this stamp in celebration! 2. 105 Castle Secrets (TCG) Not gotten enough of castle secrets yet? Stamps not your cup of tea? Never fear, because there is a TCG version for those that prefer their 105 castle secrets provided to them in a trading card format! For the TCG players out there, when this card is banked, you can discard your hand and draw an equal amount of cards (as long as you have a Light Neopet). It's almost like you are, dare I say it, discovering the secrets of a whole new hand! For those less interested in actively playing a trading card game, this Mega Rare card allows you to carry the knowledge of castle secrets around easily, either in your wallet, in your pocket, or even as a bookmark! You'll easily impress your Neofriends with all you learn through this trading card. And are the same 105 castle secrets shared between the previously listed stamp and this trading card? Better check out both to make sure your castle secret repertoire is fully stocked and up to date! For an exclusive sneak peek: a little Weewoo once told me that a certain button pressed somewhere in Meridell Castle will cause ALL second floor toilets to flush! If that's the kind of castle secret that tickles your fancy, keep reading for our next exciting item! 3. 105 Castle Toilets Speaking of castle toilets, would you believe that there are 105 of them worth writing about? This item is perfect for those who couldn't care less about secrets, but still love learning about castles and their - ahem - facilities! This book contains an equally thrilling as it is disgusting look at various toilets ranging from Neopia's earliest castle outhouses to the modern "throne room" of King Skarl. All manners of materials, designs, and waste-disposal physics are described in probably way too much detail in this tome. With 105 toilets to learn about, you are sure to be the new ace at trivia! If you or a friend wants to be privy about all privies, make sure you pick up a copy of 105 Castle Toilets to read (after you finish reading this Neopian Times special edition, of course!). 4. 105 Lava Cake Recipes As we continue with our list, we move from lavatories to lava cakes! With 105 recipes to cover, this book introduces a wide array of options for those who have never baked before to even the most seasoned of patisserie chefs. The book is divided into two sections. A third of the Lava Cake recipes are for the kinds of cakes that have a gooey, molten center. Fillings flavoured with chocolate, strawberry, Tangella, Jipple Pear, and even the beloved Borovan: there are so many lava cake recipes covering various regional fruits and flavors to satisfy any palate. The remainder of the recipes take a different turn, and focus more on the lava in lava cake. Many of these cakes were created by those living in or visiting the subterranean city of Moltara. These cakes utilize lava and related ingredients in all of its forms, including the cake batter, icings and glazes, sprinkles, and various decorative elements. Maybe the most quintessential lava cake of them all is one simply titled "Lava Cake", which has a molten gooey center of - you guessed it - lava! If your Magma pet has a birthday coming up, any of these Lava Cakes would make the perfect birthday cake to wow all partygoers! Finally, for Neopets working their way up through the ranks of the Booktastic Book Club, this book is a must have to help get them to the top! Bakers and readers alike will love this book that's lava hot off the presses! 5. 1052 Sakhmetian Tales Our list comes to a close with this enormous tome focused on Sakhmet. While this book has more stories than the 105 present in the previous entries, the breadth of lore shared through these 1052 tales makes this book an important one to include. Any Neopian interested even slightly in things related to the Lost Desert should make sure to add this book to their read list. There are more well known tales, like those about Chen-Ra, Son of the Sun, who helped found Sakhmet, or those about the Sahkmet rulers of Queen Amira, Princess Vyssa, or King Coltzan III. But with 1052 tales included, this book moves beyond those your Neopet would learn about in Neoschool, and delves into some of the lesser known lore. Flipping the pages could educate you on Burlak, a Sakhmet sculptor who made palace decorations out of clay, or instead about the Sun Chasers, who stole Princess Lunara's Magical Blue Amulet. Each new tale will excite and educate about a city we all know and love!
And there you have it, Neopians: 5 items centered around '105' to celebrate the 1050th Neopian Times Issue! Hopefully this list has opened your eyes to some lesser known items and allowed you a moment of reflection for both this special issue as well as the wonderful and intriguing items the world of Neopia has to offer. Happy reading!
