How to Earn at Least 50,000 Neopoints a Day!

by _celesteroids_

--------

As a user who had recently found her way back to the wonderful world of Neopets after a rather lengthy hiatus, I found it hard starting from scratch with a shiny new account. There was plenty of new things to learn about. Avatars were now a BIG thing, you could collect stamps, do plots, spin new wheels! Don’t even get me started on the hundreds of thousands of new items that had appeared since I last played the Neopets of my childhood! But the hardest part was trying to navigate this with very little cash, especially when some of those avatars and stamps can be a little pricey to gather, to say the least. SO, here’s a little guide for new or returning users that might help you build up those bank accounts a bit faster than usual.

     1. Trudy’s Surprise

Trudy’s Surprise was definitely a fun new surprise (no pun intended) for me when I returned to Neo after many years. Basically, it’s a slot machine that you can spin, for free, daily and that pays out more and more for each consecutive day you play, with the 25th consecutive spin being worth a whopping 100,000NP! Even if you’re only on day one of spinning and don’t get any matching icons, you still earn 1,500NP. Four matching icons will earn you 3,000NP and earning a bad luck bonus will pay out 4,000NP! Don’t worry about forgetting about this awesome machine either as Neopets sends out an event reminder to all users every day as soon as the clock strikes midnight NST.

     2. Other Dailies

     Trudy’s Surprise isn’t the only awesome free daily at your disposal. Let’s start with free food! Users can visit the Giant Jelly in Jelly World and the Giant Omelette on the Tyrannian Plateu. Now I realise free food isn’t free Neopoints, BUT firstly this saves you from having to spend those hard-earned NP you’ve been saving on feeding your pets AND when they’ve had enough to eat you can sell your stored (or even leftover half jellies and 1/3 omelettes) in your shop. Also you never know, you may grab a rarer jelly or omelette that’s worth a bit more $$$. The Money Tree, Second-hand Shoppe and Rubbish Dump can also be good place to score a bargain. Although this is rarer and comes down a lot to luck, every now and then you can score something worthwhile, a codestone or paintbrush mixed in with the rubbish, a shiny new second-hand outfit, some decent items that a very generous Neopian has donated to the Money Tree! Even smaller items that you might find on the tree like motes or common plushies, if sold, will start to build up your bank balance. The same goes for the Obsidian Quarry. Why not get your daily free piece of Shiny Obsidian and sell it for a handful of NP. Moving along we come to ‘Shop of Offers’ not really a shop, more a page of advertisements and bothersome slorgs BUT you will get 50-100NP a day just for clicking the link! Now we get to the more fun dailies;

Apple Bobbing; This one is easy, simply click ‘bob for apples’ and receive a prize ... most of the time. Every now and then you may accidentally ‘drop’ your prize back in or lose some of your precious Neopoints but I’ve found more often than not this one pays off.

Anchor Management; Don’t be scared, click FIRE! Then receive your prize.

Mysterious Negg Cave; Now this one is a little tricker than the last two mentioned as you actually have to put in some work. Basically you have to solve a small problem in which you have to place three different symbols, each in three different colours in the right order on the board (so nine in total). It can be a little daunting at first but once you get the hang of it it’s a breeze. If you still struggle after a few warm-ups there are a few Negg Cave Solution pages online to assist you.

Kiko Pop; Spin the wheel, then throw your dart. If you hit a balloon you .win a prize! I’d suggest newbies start with the easiest level first and work your way up to super crazy hard!!!

All of these will give you a decent amount of items to sell for NP

     3. Own a Shop and Restock It

As mentioned all the dailies we spoke about drop items, so get yourself a shop to sell all those free items you got and watch the Neopoints roll in! It does cost 150NP to start your own shop and extra each time you ‘upgrade’ it to fit more items, but if you build it up bit by bit, it’s worth it. Once you have an established shop with well-priced items (don’t be greedy!) you will have Neopoints waiting for you in your shop till pretty much daily.

     4. Spin the Wheels

If you’re trying to build up your savings then I would recommend staying away from the Wheel of Extravagance for the time being. I’d also recommend staying away from the Wheel of Misfortune unless you’re trying for an avatar, as, like the name suggests it can be a little ... misfortunate. Luckily there are a few other wheels that can be great for earning Neopoints or decent items.

Wheel of Mediocrity; At only 100 NP a spin and the ability to spin every 40 minutes this wheel is not that mediocre despite its name and can come in handy. You can win up to 4000NP or some nice Tyrannian petpets, furniture or food to sell in that shop you have just created.

Wheel of Excitement; This wheel is a little pricier at 500NP a spin and can only be spun every 2 hours but the payoff can be greater with a higher amount of NP available, 20,000 which comes with a shiny new avatar, if you can land on it! This wheel can also heal your pet or provide you with some interesting potions but, on the other hand, it can also cause your Neopet to come down with a disease or lose some of their health.

Wheel of Monotony; As the name suggests this one can be a bit tedious as, instead of seconds, this wheel can spin for hours! Yes, you read right, hours! It costs 150NP and can only be spun once a day but can pay out codestones and paintbrushes which can be worth quite a bit and also cough up tickets for the lottery.

Wheel of Knowledge; The wheel of knowledge costs 400NP and can only be spun once a day. It wasn’t my favourite wheel to spin on a new account as a lot of the sections don’t provide Neopoints but bad advice from King Hagan, a decrease in intelligence or an increase in intelligence. It does, however, offer some decent foods, scrolls or weapons you can sell and if you’re really lucky a job coupon (which I’ve never been lucky enough to get).

     5. Faerieland Employment Agency

If you were lucky enough to win a job coupon on that wheel of knowledge you spun then take it down to the Faerieland Employment Agency and earn yourself some $$$. If like me you tend to stick to the basic jobs, then here’s my strategy for earning roughly 2000-6000NP per job.

STEP 1; Don’t panic! Don’t rush and click on the first job you see, there’s plenty of work available at the agency and jobs refresh often, so take your time. Focus on one and suss out the prices on Shop Wizard BEFORE you commit to clicking on ‘apply for this job’. For example, I just completed a job for 5 raspberry milkshakes. I found them selling for 1500NP on Shop Wizard (5x1500=7500NP) and the base reward was just over 9500NP. Taking this job meant I was going to be able to make just over 2000NP profit minimum, however you earn extra Neopoints if you get a time bonus! Not bad for a few minutes work.

STEP 2; Speed it up! Have your Shop Wizard tabs already open and ready to go BEFORE clicking ‘apply for this job’. That way you have already found the cheapest source available for the item you need (providing you then get the job) and you can click, click, click and have your job done in a matter of seconds. This is beneficial as the quicker you do your job the more of a time bonus (reward) you get!

STEP 3; Spend money to make money! Sometimes the higher-priced items can seem a bit daunting for a new user but they have the biggest payoff. Buying something cheap like three Shenkuu Firecrackers for a job will probably only cost you 30-60NP BUT you will only get maybe 100-200NP of profit from a job that small.

STEP 4; Check the time Mr Wolf! It’s hard to earn a time bonus and get some extra NP if you are only given 2 minutes to complete the job you’ve chosen, so don’t just check the base reward, check how much time you will be given to complete your job! Now get to work!

     6. Games

Games are a great way of earning NP without having to spend any. Games are free to play and they’re games! So they can be quite enjoyable, however, everyone has different tastes so first I would suggest finding games you enjoy so that they don’t seem like a chore to earn $$$ but are a fun part of your day. I particularly enjoy Faerie Bubbles and Destruct-O-Match! Spellseeker is one game that is not that hard to wrap your head around and pays off 1000NP if you get a score greater than 100,000 which is actually quite easy to do AND sending all three of your daily scores means 3000NP a day just from this one game! Games can be very profitable. Why not try your hand at all of them and then save your favourites by clicking on the heart at the top left of the game?

     7. EVEN MORE DAILIES!!!

Tombola; Play tombola and win a prize ... maybe! Even losers win a booby prize for their shop every now and then though and it’s free anyway so what have you got to lose?

Snowager; This nasty fellow sleeps three times a day and during his nap time, if you dare, you can sneak in to steal from his pile of treasure. BUT BEWARE, he may wake up and blast you causing you to need to head over to the Healing Springs.

Wise Old King/Grumpy Old King; Tell King Hagan your words of wisdom, tell King Skarl a joke. If they like what they hear they will give you some NP and maybe a prize, if they don’t, well they will probably laugh in your face and call you a fool but oh well, what do they know!

Deserted Tomb; Don’t be afraid, venture into the darkness! The worst that can happen ... your pet is injured as he risks his life to save yours BUT you might strike it rich. EUREKA!

Fruit Machine; You get one free spin per day. Round and round it goes!

Coltzan’s Shrine; Now this doesn’t always provide you with Neopoints or treasure to collect/sell, however, it can strengthen or smarten your pet even if it doesn’t financially help you out!

Kreludor Meteor; Go on, take a chance! Poke that meteor!! Don’t be disheartened if it runs away from you a few times, eventually, you will crack it wide open.

Grave Danger; Even though this one comes with a warning, don’t be too wary of this either. Let your pet go on a ‘dark and dangerous mission’ and he will bring you back some treasure ... or some gross item you probably didn’t want after he finishes chasing his tail or dancing to some sweet jazz music.

There are many more dailies, unfortunately we do not have time to go through them all, but thedailyneopets and jellyneo offer a very comprehensive guide to all your fun daily Neopets activities!

     8. Food Club

I’m not much for gambling, and I’d avoid the slots and blackjack until you’ve built up a bit of a nest egg, however food club is a very decent way of making some very decent Neopoints. Food Club lets you place bets on pirates eating. You can place 10 bets a day. I strongly suggest following the tips of a pro. First, choose who you want to follow. There are many betting pages that are regularly updated; some people prefer to follow Garet, some follow Pheonix, some Lefty. Do your research (the dailyneopets will help) and decide whether you’d rather follow someone who takes smaller risks with smaller rewards or larger risks but with bigger payoffs. I’ve found joining a guild or using the Neobaords will help you suss out what is best for you and who is on a hot streak although it’s best to stick with one better to follow. New users can’t bet much but the older your account is the more you can bet (you are allowed to bet 2NP more every day).

     9. Bank it!

Put your earnings in the bank! The more you build up your savings, the more daily interest you get. It won’t seem like much at first but every NP helps and the more you bank, the more your interest increases. Just remember to collect your daily interest BEFORE withdrawing or depositing Neopoints or you won’t be allowed to collect until the next day!

     10. Contests

     Lastly, it is a good idea to compete in the many contests available on Neopets. Not only can you earn NP but some pretty good items to sell or trade! There is the;

Caption Contest; You can win 5, 000NP – 10,000NP and a rare item

Story Telling Competition; You can win 2,000NP and a rare item

Poetry Competition; You can win 1,000NP and a rare item (just today I won a very nice marble paintbrush)

Art Gallery; You can win 10,000NP and a rare item

Mystery Pic; You can win a share on 2,000,000NP and a rare item (hint, sometimes the item shown will help you with working out the pic)

Gallery Spotlight; You can win 10,000NP

     11. Daily Puzzle

Visit the Community Central page and answer the daily puzzle question. If you’re not sure, check those Neoboards or ask your helpful guild! You can win roughly 200-350NP depending on the day and the occasional prize.

Now there are even more ways to earn NP than this! The stock market for example, the Neopian lottery, Grarrl Keno, learning to ‘restock’ and find a great bargain and my personal favourite; the Battledome where you can win 1500NP a day and some interesting items depending on who you choose to battle, but I think this very lengthy list is enough to keep you busy for now my friends! SO happy earning and good luck!
