Who Let the Lupes Out? Different Takes on the Debate

A Reply to the Letter to Lupes

I read your letter in a past issue of the Neopian Times. And I am here to defend all Lupes and Lupe owners everywhere.

Many Lupes (and myself included) state we do NOT eat real live Chias! Most Lupes will participate in a nightly Chia Hunt, but we don't roast the Chia's afterwards! I want to clear up the prejudice against Lupes from Chias, so that the arrow of blame isn't pointed to Lupes.

Yes... I do eat Chias on a daily basis...CHOCOLATE Chias! The prejudice to Lupes is wrong...and it's this prejudice that makes some sensitive Lupes snap and attack a tormenting Chia. It's wrong to say we eat those nasty tasting NeoPets!

It's also very unfair to say that Chias are the angels of Neopia (like that Angel Chia plushie). I have seen "attacks" on Lupes against Chias, when it was the Chias that started the fight in the first place. I'm against these attacks. I think it's unfair that us Lupes are getting all the blame of this "prejudice" and hate.

I have NEVER attacked a Chia in (or out) the Battledome. I don't pick on weaker pets to heighten my Battledome scores. (I attacked the Monoceraptor three times). Foolish, I know. But I also challenged the Battle Faerie once, Water Faerie twice. I am not a cowardly Lupe that would lower myself to a Chias tiny level to attack them. (NOTE: I mean their height, all right?)

So I end this letter to state that it's not the Lupes' fault that started this "war". And that it's a natural thing for Lupes to prowl at night to hunt Chias... just for pleasure. It is reflecting our past, primitive selves when we lived in wild packs, and had to hunt for our food. So quit blaming the Lupes for our past, because it wasn't ever our fault.

Chias and Lupes: Not a match

It seems like Chias get a lot of attention. But it is sad to hear that they are being picked on a lot more than being benefited.

I wrote this article in response to Al_the_chia's article. I once was a Chia-hungry white Lupe that loved to hunt Chias and eat them. I could kick myself for what I did! Chias have feelings as much as any Lupe does. They have hearts, and souls that understand things. They are not just drooling blobs without brains, they are just like you or me.

I, Griffin thirty-three seven the Lupe, now officially has a prophecy: To love and protect Chias.

Chias may seem spoiled. They have their own games, own foods named after them, toys, clothes, et cetera, exedra, et cetera. So do Lupes. They have their own foods, at least three games, toys, clothes, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. Chias have Chia Pops. Lupes have Lupe Treats. Chia plushies. Lupe plushies. Adee and the Ice Cream Factory. The Ice Caves game. For some reason, it seems like my fellow Lupes are jealous. You can call me a traitor, but I am not. I eat Lupe Treats and Chocolate Chias. That's what Lupes are 'supposed' to eat, not real Chias Besides, they are bitter and hard to chew and cause heartburn. Yes, even the fruit-looking ones.

Chias are born with rather high statistics. They are mostly pretty strong, wise pets, great defence, and are very fast. Lupes are normally born with average/slightly above or below average stats, such as myself. I was born with all average stats except my defence, which was tough. The other day I saw in a chatroom a Lupe that bit the head off a Chia that beat it in the Battledome. Wait--doesn't that mean that the Chia was better than the Lupe?

I'm not dissing Lupes Why would I diss myself? I am saying that Chias and Lupes are equal. I hope this article has taught you a lot. Thank you.

A Letter to Chias - A Warning

Dear Chias,

When I first read your article, I was quite upset by how you called our behaviour "primitive and immature". The fact is- we have nothing to be ashamed of. Us Lupes are not all bloodthirsty hunters, in fact, we enjoy some good fruit every once in a while--that's why Chias are always part of the perfect Lupe diet :)

You see, Chias cover most of our food groups. We have our regular Chias the meats, our chocolate Chias the milk and our fruit Chias as well! If you didn't want to be eaten, you shouldn't have flavoured your species.

One thing that you said is true though, some of our packs are interested in roasting Chias for the fun of it (I myself find that this makes you tough) but can you honestly blame all of us for this? Besides, sometimes I think that Neopia may need to keep the number of Chias low, it certainly wasn't MechaLupeZilla who was one of Sloth's most evil creations, and goodness knows Lupes can't be transformed into hideous mutated creatures!

I know many of you Chias will be upset at what I have written here--please don't take it out on Lupe owners. Instead, why don't you challenge us in the Battledome to settle this, but could you do us a favour and eat a pear Chia pop first? That's our favourite flavour...

Yours Truly,

Loup2, a Lupe
