Gifts You Should Get For Your Battle-Loving Friends! by milestrong
--------
One of my favorite things about the Month of Celebrating— besides the holiday festivities, winter-themed games, hot borovan and frequent trips to Happy Valley— is the wonderful act of gift-giving! I just absolutely adore that warm feeling whenever I receive a gift that someone has clearly thought about, and there’s no better feeling than seeing a friend not being able to help but smile because of a gift they received from you. Gift-giving, whether you’re on the sending or receiving end, is always a wonderful act to experience and I’m here to help you pick out some gifts if you’re having trouble choosing! For this list in particular, I’ll be choosing out some items which are perfect if you have a friend or family member who’s always in the Battledome, fighting to his/her heart’s content! These items will range from weapons they can use, armor they can wear, or anything else that can help them with all of their battle-related endeavors! Without further ado, let’s get started! 1 - Dubloons (600 to 2.7k NP) There are a lot of different dubloons out there, but the ones I recommend gifting are the One, Two, and Five Dubloon Coins as they’re the ones that Cap’n Threelegs will accept over at his Swashbuckling Academy in Krawk Island. If you didn’t already know, these dubloons are the payments he accepts in order to train your pet— It may be hard work but it’s worth it in the end and any battle-loving fellow will always appreciate getting stronger. Plus, Cap’n Threelegs is a swell guy who’s fun to hang out with, even if he can be a little strict with the training sometimes! 2 - Codestones (2.2k to 38k NP) Similar to the dubloons, there is a huge variety of these painted rocks we call codestones out there. But rather than being limited to a select few, almost all variations of codestones will be used at some point, so it’s good to keep a hefty supply if you can. Any pet wishing to be stronger can take these to the Training School over at Mystery Island, where the Techo Master will train your pet to be stronger at a much faster pace! 3 - Weak Bottled Faeries (~100NP each!) Spending the holiday season trapped inside a bottle isn’t fun for anybody, so why not help these poor faeries out? Whenever someone opens one of these, they get a blessing from the associated faerie which they can use to learn cool skills that they can use in the Battledome! Not only do you get stronger, but you help free another Faerie as well! It’s truly an amazing gift that anyone will appreciate. (Also, why not take Balthazar on with your new gifts and get some revenge for our Faerie friends!) 4 - Weapons (Price varies) Alright, that’s enough for items you can use to get stronger outside of the dome. It’s time for the good stuff. We’ll begin by taking a look at a couple of items which you can use to totally beat down an opponent, while still being relatively cheap. *Scroll of Ultranova* (500NP) - Let’s start by taking a look at one of the cheaper weapons that people normally use. A Scroll of Ultranova is really affordable, being at less than 1k at the time of writing, and it boasts an incredible attack power of 11 icons, which is more than most beginner items already. It’s not too hard to find, and it’s a great gift for anyone who is still beginning their battledome journey. *Yooyu Knuckle Duster* (200k+ NP) - Does your friend like a good ol’ fashion brawl rather than fighting with swords and blasters? If so, then this knuckle duster might be the best gift to get for them! Boasting an attack power of 14 icons, it’s a slightly more expensive, but vastly more reliable upgrade compared to our previous item. Plus, it looks cool too! Who doesn’t love Yooyus, am I right? *Turned Tooth* (60k NP) - Next up we have an affordable powerhouse of a weapon. Though not as cheap as the scroll of ultranova, the turned tooth is still cheaper than the knuckle duster and could potentially be much stronger too. On a good day, you can expect a maximum punch of 22 icons, while the worst would be at a still respectable 13 icons. Not too bad for the price difference if I do say so myself. 5 - Armor (price varies) In addition to landing a lot of solid blows, one must also be able to take them head on and remain standing! Luckily, there are a lot of affordable and decent armors around which can protect you from even the strongest of attacks! Here are a few examples: *Leaf Shield* (20k NP) - A sturdy, reliable shield that will more than hold its own against earth and water based attacks. Be careful if you're fighting against fire though! This is a good beginner shield that anyone would want while learning the ropes. *Sophies Magic Hat* (40k NP) - Don’t be fooled, even though this looks like any regular old hat with patches on it, this one is actually imbued with protective magics! It can easily keep you from harm, offering defenses against fire, earth, dark, and physical-based attacks! No wonder Sophie really likes this hat! 6 - Healers (price varies) *Scorchstones* - There are a multitude of different scorchstones out there made of different materials. The ones you aren’t looking for are the Earthen, Silver and Golden ones as those shield you from damage rather than heal you. Anything else is good! The Bronze Scorchstone is a good starting healer for beginners out there, healing you up for 15 points! The next upgrade is the Blue Scorchstone, which doubles the healing at 30, albeit at more than double the price. The next best scorchstone to get would be the Green Scorchstone, which heals for 40 points, and is the last upgrade you should realistically get before moving on to a different heling item. *Healing Scrolls* - There are three healing scrolls to look out for, namely the Minor, Lesser, and Greater Healing Scrolls. These heal you for 5, 25, and up to 50HP respectively. They’re not too terribly expensive, and even if the Greater version is a little out of your budget, the Lesser one is definitely a great item in its own right and is super affordable. It can help keep whoever you give it to last a little longer and maybe find the strength they need to win a difficult fight. Along with everything I’ve listed here in this article, there’s such a huge variety of weapons and armors in Neopia that it’d be impossible to list them all here! Richer people could look to gift much more expensive items like the anagram swords from the Hidden Tower, or even a Super Attack Pea if they managed to get one! But even so, this list is meant to help the average Neopian find something to gift their battle-loving friends, as I’m sure we have at least one who’s raring for a fight. I hope you enjoyed my suggestions, and have a happy Month of Celebrating!
