Lost Desert Travel Brochure by halondrus
--------
South of the Haunted Woods is a land rich in magic, treasure, and adventure: The Lost Desert. The main city of Sakhmet has a vast network of catacombs underneath it, which are populated by the undead. Queen Amira, daughter of King Coltzan III, oversees this bustling city. Her younger sister and occasional ruler when the Queen is away, Princess Vyssa, likes to disguise herself so she can walk the city as an unknown when she is not in charge. There is also Qasala, headed by King Jazan and Princess Nabile, but due to the fractured nature of the land, these two cities feel like separate lands. What makes the Lost Desert so unique is its age; it is likely at least over one thousand years old, which gives it a unique and interesting history compared to other lands. If you are a history buff, a royal watcher, or just enjoy the fun that sandy dunes provide and the heat a desert radiates, the Lost Desert and its main town of Sakhmet will be the place for you on your next vacation destination. The Lost Desert Historical Locations Coltzan’s Shrine Every 13 hours, you are able to pay your respects to the late King Coltzan III. Princess Vyssa built this to honour her father, and thousands of Neopians visit it daily to pay their own respects. Sometimes King Coltzan’s ghost will bless you with his petpet Sparky or another petpet, some dubloons, Neopoints, food, a book, a shield, or a lens. Be sure to pay your respects while you are in town Games Pyramids Game For only 50 Neopoints a game, you can play this relaxing game. The objective is to clear all the cards in the pyramid. Up at the top is a card; your objective is to play the next card up or down from it from your pyramid. If you can’t do another one, you can draw and try again. Once you clear the pyramid twice, you get a bronze trophy, clearing it five times gets you silver, and if you’re really good and clear it twice in a row, you can get gold. There is also a second trophy to be earned for your cumulative score; your score resets after not playing for three months, so be sure not to slow down! Sutek’s Tomb Sutek was a Geb who ruled many years ago in the Lost Desert. When he passed, he was buried with his possessions, and his tomb was sealed. If you have the skills, you can unlock some of that treasure and earn yourself some Neopoints and maybe even a shiny new avatar. This is a simple match-three game, similar to Faerie Fragments. You can only match horizontally or vertically. There is a gold coin that can be used in place of any normal tile that can help you out. There are a number of other special tiles that award you bonus points. The hard part of this game is the fact that it’s timed, so you'd better move fast! Swarm! Play as a Wocky part of Tank Patrol 45 as you try to blast a swarm of bugs from invading Neopian Protection zone 6B. Blast the bugs before they blast you and overtake the Lost Desert. It’s up to you to save the day in this fast-paced shooting game! Tug-O-War You can play this alone against familiar faces, or you can play locally versus a friend or family member. Your goal is to pull the rope as hard as you can and get your opponent to fall into the river. Stock up on some Power Neggs and get pulling! Sakhmet Games Fruit Machine Pull the lever to try to match two to three fruits. If the first two match, you win the fruit and some Neopoints. If all three match, you can win even more Neopoints plus some rare items such as paint brushes or battle muffins. If you win at least 25,000 Neopoints, you can even find yourself taking home a shiny new trophy! Geos Play against other Neopians where you try to bomb their pieces before they can make their shapes while making your own without getting bombed. Note that it is currently unavailable. Sakhmet Solitaire In this classic game, your objective is to clear the deck. Up at the top, there are spaces for four piles. Starting with Ace and working up in order to the King, you must add to each pile, ensuring the suits all stay the same. You can either draw 3 or draw 1 at a time. If a space in the bottom is empty, you can move a King there and count down, thus ensuring you can get as many cards on the board as possible. There are two trophies, just like in the Pyramids Game. Once you clear the deck twice, you get a bronze trophy, clearing it five times gets you silver, and if you’re really good and clear it twice in a row, you can get gold. The second trophy to be earned is for your cumulative score; your score also resets after not playing for three months. Scarab 21 In this game, there are five columns on the board. Your objective is to get a column to 21 points; add the numbers in each card to figure out what the points will be, keep in mind face cards are all 10 points, and the Ace can be 10 points or 1 point. Just like Pyramids Game and Sakhmet Solitaire, there are two trophies. One is just for getting a high scoring individual game, the second is once again for your cumulative score that also resets after three months of not playing. Scratch Cards For only 500 Neopoints every four hours, you can pick up a scratch card here, although you can scratch as many as you want at once.. Match three in a row to pick up a prize or some Neopoints. The kiosk is closed from 10am to 11am NST and 2pm to 3pm NST so plan accordingly.
