We want to start by thanking you. Thank you for all of the questions, all of the fan art, and for all of your critiques. We are honoured and astounded by the sheer multitude of Neopians out there who are still so actively engaged and interested in the lore we continue to build upon. Before we begin the final instalment of The Void Within, we wanted to take a step back and be transparent about how we arrived here.

The Void Within was initially planned to be a smaller, self-contained story featuring the Grey Painter and Baelia facing what it means to be grey. However, as often happens in game development, internal priorities shifted, and the scope was increased. Shortly after the plot started on site, priorities changed once more, causing us to switch up our tactics, divide up the remaining parts of the plot, and cut back on certain gameplay elements.

Despite the setbacks, our team has remained dedicated to finishing the story we started, even if initial designs have changed. We are incredibly proud of the fact that we were able to find ways to include the level of detail we had previously planned, such as through the recent addition of illustrated short stories or restructuring chapters to manage scope.

Please keep in mind we are still a small team, and many of us are wearing multiple hats. . This meant that, during most of the development cycle, only a handful of writers, artists, and developers were actively working on the plot, in addition to scheduled events, new features and site improvements. This story has been handcrafted by humans passionate about both storytelling and Neopia, a truth we hope shines through in this final episode of the plot.

For this team, crafting our first-ever plot has been both daunting and exhilarating. We have learned much from this labour of love, and appreciate your patience and support through delays. Thank you all for taking this journey with us. For giving our new characters space to grow. For allowing us to continue worldbuilding and breathe new life into Neopia. For asking again and again, when is the plot coming back!

The stark reality is, Neopia simply would not exist without your support. We are so grateful that your contributions and passion for the world we all love have allowed it not only to survive, but perhaps even thrive once more. Thank you for making Neopia such a vibrant, colourful place for us all to escape to.

So in the NC Basics shop, there are many very colourful variations of gloves; red, green, pink, blue, and black. However, one really "basic" colour is missing, and that is white! Why aren't there any Basic White gloves? ~kitavery

Hi TNT - with Meridell and Brightvale having been afflicted with the grey curse, how have Meri Acres Farm and the Meridell & Brightvale shopkeepers escaped their grey fates? Thanks! ~sixaroo
The Grey Painter and Vira were tactical with the large-scale assaults they carried out on lands like Meridell and Brightvale. In both instances, the Grey Painter first targeted the castle and locations where guards were situated. Although more grey was spread after each land's defences had been weakened, areas on the outskirts of the lands (like Meri Acres and some of the shops) were far enough away from the fray that many were able to escape being greyed out. Hi Adler, with the recent changes to Poetry and it now being part of NT which conflicts with other NT submissions (where only one can be accepted), but still has its own trophy, could you clarify whether collaboration is allowed for Poetry entries? We certainly would love it if collaboration is an option. Thank you very much! ~acherub
Hi acherub! Great question! You are welcome to collaborate on Poetry, however, as usual, the content length would need to justify needing multiple users to work on it and you'd need to specify who worked on what in your comment section when submitting. Note that each user can only appear once in each issue of NT, so if your entry was to get accepted for Poetry, both yourself and your collaborator would not be allowed to have a second type of entry accepted (article, short story, series or comic). I may have already written on this before, but I thought it was important enough to risk repeating myself. I am so thrilled that you're using quadruped's mouths for handhelds instead of random night stands in the middle of a field. My absolute favourite is of course the chainsaw from Valentine's Day.
