Quote of the Week
He soon found that she came to the clearing in the woods once a week, but the same shyness and bumbling that made him long to escape from the castle to the woods to be alone had also left him incapable of speaking to her. So he would only wait until the day she appeared in her clearing, always wishing he had the will to speak and befriend her.

Gourmet Guide: Sweet Summer Treats
Greetings, fellow food lovers! Tis I, Squire Sprinkle Spoon, a Chocolate Grarrl with a tooth sweeter than the Chocolate Ball itself. In this article, I’m inviting you into my Court of Confection to provide the inside scoop on gourmet treats that are sure to sweeten up your summer! For the uninitiated, the Gourmet Club is Neopia’s premiere eating establishment that celebrates the consumption of delicacies from all across Neopia — yes, even the depths of Moltara and the stars beyond Kreludor! Eating even a single selection from the list (AKA foods with rarities between 90 and 100) is enough to consider yourself eligible to join the club’s prospective membership list. However, to gain full membership (which comes with a shiny trophy for your lookup and bragging rights for all eternity), you’ll need to stuff yourself quite full. The current number to reach even an honorary membership badge is 1,255 unique meals; not for the faint of heart or the small-stomached! The list below is but a small sampling of selections, curated to satisfy your sweet tooth this summer as you work towards your membership. I’ve rated each one on a 1-5 scale based on sweetness level, novelty, rarity, and of course, how delicious it is! So what are we waiting for? |
 | A Beginner’s Guide to Modern Stamp Collecting
Have you recently returned to Neopets, only to feel that familiar spark of nostalgia the moment you saw those elusive stamp avatars being used on the Neoboards? You’re not alone. For years, stamp collecting was seen as a pursuit for Neopet’s wealthiest elites, a sign of status only few could afford, but times have changed. New ways have been introduced to earn items and neopoints making the availability of stamps and stamp collecting more achievable than ever before.
The Stamp Album is more than just stamps, it’s a vast archive of collectables. Inside, you’ll find everything from Sea Shells and Treasures of the Deep, to shiny Coins, cheeky Evil Coconuts and more. Each item adds its own flair, lore, whether it’s your favorite character or relics of past plots. Every page you complete gives you a sense of history of the site, and in many cases, a highly coveted avatar.
The Basics: What You Need to Know Before You Start Collecting
Before you jump into stamp collecting, it’s important to understand why you’re doing it. Are you trying to complete a specific page for an elusive avatar? Are you fascinated by the characters or design of the stamps? Maybe you are working on account improvement and want to get those stamp numbers up. It’s important to clarify your personal goal which will help you stay focused and shape the strategy in which you achieve it. Always keep an eye out for the items you are searching for and most important, wait patiently for the right deal. Do not overpay for stamps! |

"Programming" by pikapi20 Doctor Neggistential's Laboratory was a wonder to behold. Located off the beaten track that led from the west of the Neopian Marketplace and below a deceptively ordinary abode, it was in his spacious basement that the finest of the Yellow Blumaroo's work was undertaken. Walls covered in flashing buttons and shiny lights with inventions scattered about both on worktops and stored in boxes for future finetuning, you couldn't look in any direction without your eyes landing on another curiosity or your ears hearing a persistent whirring sound. It was very much his happy place. That too of his White Doglefox called Erick, who was curled up in a ball below a pile of Cyber Neggs. Unfortunately, his guest just wasn't as enamoured by the many attractions.
Sat hunched over atop a large cardboard box of unsold Plushie Jetpacks, his feet not quite reaching the floor, Topsi's pastel pink eyes were instead being entertained by the twiddling of his thumbs. A frown stubbornly etched on the Pink Cybunny's face. The Inventor sighed softly. Before choosing to take a reassuringly upbeat tone. "I don't know what to tell you, my boy," he enthused as sympathetically as he could, "but all of your test results have come back well within the normal range!" His patient flashed him an irked look. "Okay, yes, normal is relative and it's not like I have a baseline for what you were like before the... incident... or even for folks of your... composition... but I assure you you're right as rain!" |
"My Journey to Altador" by black_skull725 As one of the Neopian Times reporters assigned to report on the void situation, I parked my wing chair strategically in the Council Chambers, near where the Faerie Queen had been standing. King Jazan and Queen Nabile approached the Faerie Queen. The grave concern on both faces tipped Fyora off on what this was going to be about. "I assume that you are not approaching me with any hopeful news, are you?" Nabile heaved a sigh as Jazan shook his head. "Our apologies, your majesty-" "Just Fyora please…" "Yes, well Fyora, we received note from our commanders in the Lost Desert, and the situation is dire. Therefore, both of us and Amira must excuse ourselves from the council," Nabile said. She turned to her husband. "Anything you'd like to add?" "Ahem. Yes, I think that others on the council may start to hear from their lands or pre-emptively decide to depart to prepare for the enemy assault. Dissolving the council may be the wise option here," Jazan added. Deep down, the words stung Queen Fyora. She had believed gathering everyone to discuss the situation would have produced a resolution of some sort by now, but instead, it made every land vulnerable; yet another blunder to add to her repertoire. However, given the circumstances, she saw little choice but to not make her mistake even bigger. "Please do be safe on your journey back. I can only apologize for leaving your land vulnerable in pursuit of a solution." Nabile shook her head. |
"The Lost Treasure" by rockyrobin2024 “Why?” The voice whispered towards the ground. A sad and lonely voice, on the edge of crying. "I don't get it," The voice continued. Tammy the Blue Shoyru sighed. The ground was not going to reveal its secrets so quickly. His gaze crossed the littered holes that surrounded the tree. Large and small, deep and shallow. Each of the holes lay barren as if to mock him. “Where?” He whispered again, his voice cracking from the dawning horror within his mind. It might not be here. His precious treasure - it might not be here. A patter of rain hit his shoulders. The weather had turned and time had run out. Tammy looked up to the sky, as if to ask them why they too would betray him now. Not now - he told the clouds - please just wait a few minutes more. Heaving with all of his strength - he picked up the shovel once more. “Please-” Voice cracking as he once again pushed the shovel with all his might into the ground. “I know it’s here” The cracking voice betrays the tears that started down his face. “I am sure! I’m positive. She said it would be here.” Once again only dirt was removed. “It has to be here. It has to…” Tammy found the strength leaving his body. His knees crashed to the floor, as the rain started to pour around him. “It has to-” Around him the holes started to fill with water, he could only stare ahead of him. His eyes in the distant past. A Blue Meerca was running past him, holding a smile on her face. “I’m Holly. What’s your name?” The same Meerca was holding a Negg in her hands. |
