"Dr Death's Translocation Device" by phadalusfish
The Day of Giving dawned cold and bleak in a certain corner of Neopia Central, where dozens of pets without families huddled together in the Pound. They had spent the night under the large window in the reception area, staring up at the few stars that managed to peek through the gathering clouds. By morning, the fluffy white puffs had turned dark gray, and snow had started to tumble out of them. The window frosted over, obscuring their view.
Cabb, a Robot Shoyru, was the only one among the bunch who wasn’t shivering. “There’s still plenty of time,” he said to the Maraquan Usual curled up at his feet casings. “The holidays aren’t over yet.”
She nodded, looked up at the window and sniffed. They had been here the longest, Cabb and the Usul. Many of the others had come and gone in the past few months, but no one wanted to make friends with a cold metal Shoyru or a slimy Maraquan Usul.

The sun had barely risen and the streets were empty, with the exception of one lone white Aisha who was shuffling along the path. Her head was wrapped warmly in a fluffy scarf, and her hands were buried deep in her coat pocket, fighting off the winter cold.

 Last Year Advent Calendar Interviews
Everyone’s favorite Month of Giving activity, the Advent Calendar, is well known for more than just a month worth of free gifts. Every day we’re presented with a new holiday animation ranging from comedic to heartwarming. However, while the animations tell a self contained story, sometimes don’t you wonder what led up to or happened after the animation? I decided for some of them to find out, so I went around to many famous Neopets characters.

 Alone for the Holidays
The holiday season is upon us. Most commonly called by humans “December” or the “Season of Giving,” it is a time when all the neopets and their owners gather together in harmony and good cheer, a time for reunion with loved ones, and a time when abundance is felt by all, rich and poor. Owners will roam the newly decorated streets as they search for gifts for their neopets, and those lucky enough will be at the NC mall stuffing their spectacular stockings.

Ember is standing in the threshold to her kids' peaceful Market Town home, panting and sweating after a frantic run all the way from Werelupe Woods. She's taken a wide stance, as if preparing for a fight, holding a carved bone dagger she doesn't quite know how to use in one hand and half-eaten peachpa in the other. In her panicked rush, she had thrown open the heavy door, sending it slamming against the wall.

 Within the Archives: The Dancing Curse: Part One
On her tiptoes, Elleri the Royal Blumaroo could barely see out the frosted window panes. This particular window was created from an array of red and purple panes meant to take the form of some rose from a novel Hark was fond of. Elleri was sure he’d had it commissioned after finally digging his way into the Romance archive in Brightvale’s library.
