"I’m freezing!” Scary fumed, shivering as Patricia approached her. The purple Bruce sighed as she hugged herself and buried her face in her scarf. “Why in Neopia do we have to come here today?? Can’t we just say we did our volunteer scheme?” Patricia shook her head. “You know we wouldn’t get away with it, Scary,” informed the faerie Shoyru. “We would need a letter from the shopkeeper himself to prove we’ve done our assignment.” “Well this is definitely the stupidest thing I’ve ever done!” Scary declared, following Patricia into the Second-Hand Shoppe. She was still baffled at the assignment their English teacher insisted they do during their winter break: spend a few days doing community service at any location or business within Neopia Central. The volunteer work would have mattered much more if it was done at the Grooming Parlour, where Scary could try out the latest cosmetics and skin moisturizers. Instead Patricia, her assigned partner, decided to sign them up for shifts at the Second-Hand Shoppe–a thrift shop built in the shape of a cardboard box.

It was a mild day in Neopia Central, they don’t feel the same chill that comes to the residents of Happy Valley, but he was still sporting a light blue jacket. Vinny was out with owner looking at the Neopian shops for Christmas gifts when a particular establishment caught his eye.

Alone for the Holidays
The holiday season is upon us. Most commonly called by humans “December” or the “Season of Giving,” it is a time when all the neopets and their owners gather together in harmony and good cheer, a time for reunion with loved ones, and a time when abundance is felt by all, rich and poor. Owners will roam the newly decorated streets as they search for gifts for their neopets, and those lucky enough will be at the NC mall stuffing their spectacular stockings.

Every day we’re presented with a new holiday animation ranging from comedic to heartwarming. I decided for some of them to find out, so I went around to many famous Neopets characters.

Simeon's Song: Part One
Ember is standing in the threshold to her kids' peaceful Market Town home, panting and sweating after a frantic run all the way from Werelupe Woods. She's taken a wide stance, as if preparing for a fight, holding a carved bone dagger she doesn't quite know how to use in one hand and half-eaten peachpa in the other. In her panicked rush, she had thrown open the heavy door, sending it slamming against the wall.
