Hosting a form of the random contest over social media is something our team is excited about to help us increase engagement with Neopets in modern ways (you know, with the kids these days) to help as part of our marketing efforts to get new players and also as a fun way for you all to be creative and show off your work!! I (as a lurker myself) understand the concerns brought up around social media and while we can’t give away too much right now we looking into ways we can allow private accounts to participate and have usernames only be shared with the staff judging the contests. Hi Adler! Thank you for all the hard work you guys at TNT do! I have a suggestion. I think creative contests are an important and beloved site feature that should be preserved as much as possible. Why not let user volunteers judge the creative contests? I'm sure plenty of people would love to help! Maybe let the users vote on the judges, and/or rotate judges frequently for fairness? ~_hotpinkdiamonds_
Hello _hotpinkdiamonds_! Thank you for the suggestion. We have considered this and while we appreciate the enthusiasm to help, unfortunately there are some challenges with this. We have to consider fairness with judging, possible botting, and user-access to our admin tool. We do our best to ensure fairness across contests on the site and are currently implementing further back-end processes to ensure equal opportunities for winning. However, never say never! Hello hello Adler! Last editorial, you mentioned that you were already implementing caps for creative contest submissions. As someone who enters said contests, I have concerns. What do you mean by capping? Like do you mean a certain amount of submissions per round? Or do you mean something like "if you have x amount of trophies, you can't enter anymore"? ~chasing_stars44
Hello chasing_stars44! Capping submissions means that a user will only be able to submit a certain number of entries per round. Spamming entries has been prevalent and it causes issues with fairness. We can see up to a quarter of blank or duplicate submissions. Our intention with capping is to help solve that issue and to ultimately ensure to users that contests are not being spammed and that each user has an equal opportunity to win. ~~ Adler

“Storytelling once a month” is too vague. Currently its every two weeks with a winner every weekday. Is it now once a month with a winner every weekday or is it one winner a month? ~anonymous
Hi there! Storytelling currently runs every weekday. This is being reduced to now run once a month, over a two-week, weekday period (10 days), which means there will be 10 winners a month. Part of the reason for this includes the fact that we see low participation and AI submissions. It takes our team a longer time to parse through the AI submissions, duplicate entries, sparse entries, etc. If we see an influx of participants and valid submissions, we would be open to increasing the frequency of this contest again! ~~ Adler

Handmade Art Gallery Day will continue to occur once a month in the Art Gallery Schedule. The winners of those specific Handmade Art Gallery days will still continue to be granted the Random Contest Avatar. We always look forward to all the creative, handmade Neopets creations! ~~ Contest Judge

Now that poetry is tied to the NT... are users still awarded poetry trophies or NT trophies? The NT only allows one acceptance per issue, so if a user makes it into the NT with a comic does this mean they can not win poetry as well (or vice versa)? ~anonymous
Hello! With Poetry moving to Neopian Times, users will now receive both Poetry rewards and NT trophies and prizes- we are even looking into adding an avatar for winners! While a user can only be published into each issue once, you are still allowed to submit multiple times across multiple categories, however, please note that we will be capping submissions at 5 per issue, which allows you to enter each category should you choose. ~~ Adler
