"A Shell Out Of Reach" by bjab967 As the last rays of sunlight dipped behind the jagged cliffs of Tyrannia, Cam the Gold Draik sat silently on the crumbling edge of the Battleground. He fixed his eyes on the Obelisk, which was casting a long shadow across the battlefield. For days he had fought beneath its looming presence, driven only by one thing: the power and riches offered by the Sway. When whispers of unimaginable wealth had reached his ears, Cam swore allegiance to the secretive faction without hesitation. Their influence stretched across Neopia, their motives shrouded in shadow, yet their promises had taken root in his heart. He found himself weary from endless battles against the Brutes and the Seekers. Blades still clashed and spells still crackled across the battlefield, but Cam was too exhausted to continue fighting. Instead, wiping sweat from his brow, he watched and waited. Soon the sun descended and darkness fell over the battlefield. The war had come to a close and was replaced by a tense hush as the warriors gathered around the Obelisk. Suddenly a brilliant flash...

"A Little Coffee, Colouring, and Care
" by rachu816 One day, Detective Greg the Grey Poogle was sitting at his kitchen counter working through his copy of the Lost Desert Colouring Book and sipping his morning espresso. His colouring technique was to use pointillism for the grains of sand and, of course, to only use a grayscale palette. It was very on-brand for him. Blues, yellows, reds- those were just not his style. After Detective Greg made his thousandth dot (yes, he was counting), he let out a big sigh and picked up his coffee to slurp at again.
To be frank, Detective Greg has had a series of dull days recently. It was not like there weren’t any mysteries in Neopia to solve. Afterall, there was a giant purple cloud out in interplanetary space that was terrorizing Neopia and a mysterious grey painter turning the world grey. Even though Detective Greg was a professional detective, a space mission was a bit out of his expertise and he also was not fit enough to fight the mischievous voidlings in the Battledome. Fighting just wasn’t his style in general. He felt at a loss for how he could help out. |
"A Day at the Beach" by slothgirl Days turned to weeks, then months as time marched on in Neopia. The month of Hiding was upon them, and King Roo had been sulking around since it became obvious that he would not be back home in time for Blumaroo Day. Darigan looked up from his book as the normally jovial Blumaroo slunk into the portion of Altador castle set aside for the court of Roo Island and, by some grace he was still struggling with believing, Lord Darigan. “I am bored,” the king whined, throwing his hands into the air and giving the ground a stomp that was so comical Darigan couldn’t stop the smirk from twisting his lips. King Roo stared at him, aghast, “I am bored, and now you’re mocking me!” Lord Darigan remained seated, lifting his own hands in the air in surrender. “I’m not mocking you, Roo. I’ve just never seen you so...chuffed.” Roo let out a huff, “We’ve been cooped up in here for who even knows how long. I’m missing the Blumaroo Day festivities. And no one here is any fun, besides you of course.” Darigan smiled, warmer this time, “Well, we could go somewhere. King Altador and Fyora...

The Shrine Beneath the Sand The desert winds had been merciless. For seven days, they had screamed across the Lost Desert, carrying columns of sand that piled up around the tents and formed a haze across the sky.
