 Awful Afflictions

As in the real world, Neopia also has its fair share of awful afflictions that may affect your beloved neopet. In this guide I'll go through my top 10 worst diseases and the cures that can be used to rid your pet of them.
10. Bloaty Feet
The symptoms of this disease are quite obvious; you will notice localized swelling in the feet which makes it difficult for your neopet to wear shoes or walk but the worst part of this disease is that the feet will continue to swell until treated.
For treatment it is recommended you use some Magic Smelly Socks that are possibly blessed by the faeries of Neopia. 9. Neogitus
This is what happens when your neopets fail to brush their teeth! The disease presents itself by the swelling of the gums and can become very painful. It also restricts what your neopet can eat and drink.
For treatment, you must brush their teeth with a Medicinal Toothbrush, created by the tooth faerie herself!
8. Neophobia
Neophobia is a horrible disease that makes your pets have a chronic fear of leaving your neohome, often locking themselves away in their rooms and avoiding any kind of contact.
Treatment of this disease is by buying sparkly step out shoes which will give your neopet more confidence. 7. Shaky Flakys
With this disease, your neopet will have extremely dry skin which may begin to peel off and will tremble and shake uncontrollably.
The treatment for shaky flakys is a specially designed cream (with an original name) shaky flaky cream! This cream heats and soothes your neopet's skin. 6. Cricky Neck
This affliction restricts the movement in your neopet's neck and head by making the neck very stiff which makes any attempt of movement very painful.
To treat this disease you must put a Neck Brace on your neopet which has healing properties and keeps the head and neck stiff to prevent further injury. 5. Fuzzy Fungus
Fuzzy Fungus is exactly what it is; a fungus. If a pet comes in close contact to this fungus it may expel its spores which fall into your neopet's coat and slowly turn the fur purple as they transform into a fungus ball.
The only known cure for this disease is to give your pet some honey blossom extract which has been used for years for its cleansing properties. 4. Reptillioritus
Many pets get this disease because they want to own a Reptillior as a petpet BUT these petpets have a toxic venom and should only be given to well versed petpet owners. A bite from one of these causes your pet to become very red and itchy and will become lethargic.
To cure your neopet of the toxic venom you must rub Cactopus Cream into the site of the Reptillior bite. 3. Itchy Scratchies
This is a horrible disease which affects your pet by producing very itchy red lumps all over. The treatment for Itchy Scratchies is by rubbing a specially made cream called Itchy Scratchy Cream into the skin to soothe the itching and reduce the lumps. 2. Neomonia
This illness is considered a medical emergency in Neopia. The symptoms of Neomonia are that your pet will become very tired all the time followed by sickness, lack of appetite and grumpiness.
If your neopet is suffering from Neomonia, you must bathe them using Medicinal Soap as soon as possible. 1. Neopox
Number 1 in my list of awful afflictions is none other than Neopox. Neopox is highly contagious and presents itself by feeling of extreme itchiness and blotching of the skin.
Luckily treatment for Neopox is much nicer than some other treatments despite it being a terrible disease to have. All you have to do is feed your pet some Neopox pizza and what pet doesn't love pizza? Allergic reactions
Unfortunately some pet species are more susceptible to disease than others; these are as follows:
Kyrii – Kyrii are allergic to apples and will get Itchy Scratchies if fed them. Quiggle – Quiggles can not eat cream and will contract Neezles if fed any.
Skeith – Skeith are known to eat everything in existence in Neopia but there is one exception. They are allergic to cheese and will come down with Neezles if any is consumed.
Tonu – Although Neggs are considered a delicacy, Tonus can not eat them. If fed Neggs it will suffer from Neezles. Other treatments
Although there are the 100% cures for the diseases of Neopia some of these can get very expensive but not to worry! There are cheaper alternatives although they aren't always 100% effective.
