When Life Gives You Tigerbuggles… Make Tigerade!

by mango_

--------

The Month of Swimming brings with it the blazing sun, matches of Mynci Beach Volleyball, and an endless craving to stay cool and hydrated. Whether you are lounging on the sandy beaches of Mystery Island or enjoying a breezy picnic on the grassy hills of Meridell, there is no better companion than a chilled, fruity drink.

Luckily, Neopia is bursting with tropical treasures just waiting to be juiced or squeezed into something sensational. While classic lemonade has earned its place in the spotlight, there is no need to stop there! From treetop Tigerbuggles to juicy Juppies, Neopia offers a drink for every kind of tastebud. If you are already thirsty, don’t worry. Keep reading to the very end of this article for a simple recipe on how to make your very own glass of Tigerade, perfect for sipping under the summer sun.

     Tigerade

Someone once said, “When life gives you Tigerbuggles, make Tigerade.” I think they were onto something! Tigerbuggles are bold, bright, and beautifully striped fruits that grow exclusively at the tops of Neopia’s tallest trees. Harvesting them is no easy task. Tigerbuggle gatherers often rely on sturdy Krawk Climbing Ropes or even enlist the help of friendly flying Petpets just to reach a single branch. However, one bite makes the effort worth it. With a tangy citrus kick and just a hint of sweetness, Tigerbuggles are bursting with flavour. Their swirling rinds release a fragrant, energizing aroma, making them an ideal choice for a refreshing summer drink.

     Chokatoade

While this versatile veggie is known to be a key ingredient in tasty dishes like Cheesy Chokato Pie, Chokato Cream Cheese Dip, and Chokato Trifle, did you know it can also be squeezed to make a refreshing drink? When juiced into Chokatoade, you end up with a rich, velvety drink with hints of both cocoa and tang.

Though it may sound strange, Chokatoade strikes the perfect balance between savoury and sweet. For Neopians who want an extra decadent twist, consider swirling in a bit of vanilla cream.

     Clamade

Not all summer drinks are fruit-based, and Clamade proves it. Made of sparkling clam juice harvested from the depths of Maraqua, Clamade is more of an acquired taste. For those who prefer something light and tart over rich and creamy, there’s no better contrast than a gulp of Clamada. This drink has a light salinity and vibrant fizz that pairs perfectly with a Seafood Pasty or Seafood Pasta Salad.

     The World of Grapeades

Everyone knows a good Grapeade is a summer staple. What many Neopians don’t realize is that there are many kinds of grapes out there, and each one produces its own twist on this refreshing drink. Here are three twists on Grapeade.

Altadorian Grapeade is made from the sun ripened grapes of Altador, and they are known for their extra sweetness. This version is golden and mellow, and it’s the perfect drink to have during your walks on sunny Altador days.

Mechagrapeade is made from Mechagrapes, which grow on shimmering vines. These grapes have a subtle zing and give the drink a slightly metallic taste. This unique drink is perfect for anyone who likes their refreshments to give them a little jolt.

Sakhmetian Grapeade is made from grapes cultivated in the dry sands of Sakhmet. These angular grapes are slightly crunchier and provide a drier bite. Their juice is often mixed with cinnamon or Desert Blumaroo Honey to round out the flavour. It’s a favourite at rooftop gatherings during warm desert nights.

     Juppieade

Juppies are cheerful, bulbous fruits that come in an astonishing number of varieties, and each one makes a different kind of Juppieade. Here are two takes on Juppieades.

The Cocoa Juppie is the smoothest of them all. With a taste somewhere between creamy cocoa and ripe banana, it makes for a delectable drink. If you want to go the extra mile, you can turn it into a slushie and top it with a dollop of whipped cream.

The Purple Juppie, however, is not for the faint of heart because it is intensely sour. It’s so sour, in fact, that most Neopians can’t manage more than a few sips without their entire face puckering. However, for fans of bold, tart flavours, Purple Juppieade is the ultimate summer challenge and is a favourite among sour treat enthusiasts.

     Phearade

Imagine a fruit that never warms up, no matter how hot the summer day gets, and is excellent at keeping you cool! The Phear is a rare hybrid pear created by mixing regular pear seeds with snowberry plants. The result? A fruit that grows with an icy chill at its core.

Phearde is Neopia’s answer to hot summer days you can’t escape. Phearade is naturally cool, so you don’t even need any ice! The flavour is crisp, a little tart, and slightly minty from the snowberry.

     Limemade

Finally, we arrive at the zesty green cousin of Lemonade: Limemade. Made from freshly squeezed limes, Limemade is sharp and bright. It’s perfect on its own, but it also makes an excellent base to mix with other drinks like Cherry Juice or Flaming Blooble Fruit Juice.

As the Month of Swimming floats by, what better way to celebrate than to try something new and refreshing? Whether you’re savouring the crisp chill of Phearade, braving the bold tang of Purple Juppieade, or inventing your own fruity fusion, there is no wrong way to cool down in Neopia. After all, summer is the perfect season to explore new flavours, share a laugh with neofriends, and raise your glass to the juicy joy of discovery one delicious sip at a time.

Happy sipping, Neopia! Don’t forget your sunglasses and Illusens Sunscreen!
